Which video with my low ceiling, thanks

Hi, I have searched and found little about space requirements for step routines. I have a ceiling which leaves only 26 inches of space between the top of my head, and you guessed it, my ceiling. I was intrested in purchasing LOw Max, and The Gym Series. Maybe even
Kick Max, or Cardio Kicks ( or the sort ). Concerned with the sugested need of a High Step for the Gym Legs segment. Furthermore Cathe's videos have propulsion. Will I be able to use these videos in my situation. I would prefer to not have to change up her routines to fit my enviroment. Would prefer to purchase videos (DVD) that are closer suited for this.

Open to sugestions though as far as my selection prior to purchase. Looking for a intermediate to advanced challenge in cardio and weights. Have plety of time to do the routines, and might even like a set that can be rotated with something different for each day. as long as the selection, or an additional purchase allows for a step DVD that will be a little more simple in choreogerphy for at first(example:grow into the advanced step of the set).

initially, I was intreseed in the Ten Hardcore Set. Or the Body Blast Series, Or 8 Pack Cross Train Xpress w/ Circuit Max & Cardio Kicks.
I could even sell a DVD or two out of the set, if they require twop much height in my living room. At first 26" sounds like alot of room, but you still have to add the step, and jumping, and any arm work. Looking for a simple solution to this legthy descrition. Thank you AO

Anthony, given your ceiling restrictions, I think it's going to be difficult to find a step workout that is at once challenging to the cardiovascular system AND doesn't smash your head in, precisely because of the propulsion issue. Low Max does not entail any propulsion, so that may be a possibility for you; however, because impact is low she encourages the exerciser to use a higher step - which may put your head in jeopardy after all.

IMHO you can take your pick of the strength workouts from any of her series; Gym Style (Legs and everything else) is fine, as are the others.

Cross Train Express(CTX) has several cardio segments that are either kickbox or floor-hi/lo that may be suitable for you. The Circuit Max / Cardio Kicks DVD also has several cardio segments in each workout that are floor-based (of course, Cardio Kicks is strictly floor-based). CTX also has a couple of premixes, the Upper Body Split and the All Abs premixes, in which she pulls together all of the muscle stuff from the waist up into separate premixes.

I'd also consider the Boot Camp / Muscle Endurance DVD - upper margin cardio in Boot Camp, albeit in one-minute(ish) segments, but these are floor cardio AND she has a cardio-only premix that I swear by. That is from the Intensity Series.

Also consider Kick Punch Crunch (with Legs & Glutes) DVD from the Body Blast Series, as well as Kick Max from the Hard Core series. Kick Punch Crunch and Kick Max are floor based.

Annette,

Thanks for your honest reply. Had a feeling that there would be limitations. Sounds like your suggestions might just make this
do-able.

Lo Max, Kick Max, KP&C/Legs & Glutes, Boot Camp/Muscle Endurance, and Circuit Max/Cardio Kicks. I noticed that these selections were picked out of various series. Will this still give me good coverage, allowing to build lean muscle (upper/lower) ?

Alot of these videos look like alot of fun.
And I keep hearing praises on these titles.

Would you recomend that I only start with a few of these titles ? (There are several Kick Box Videos here, maybe wait on KM and/or LM)

Thanks again for the good advice Annette !!!
Anthony

P.S. Of Any Cathe DVD, which would be best for building upper body,
i.e., Pyramid,Gym Style,etc.

Annette,

I just wanted to tell you something on a seperate note.
I think it is wonderful how everyone helps each other out in this forum. Not just responding, but taking the time for well thought out responses. I hope others see this as well, and heed the complement.

I spent a couple of hours last night wondering around this forum. It is big, and deep. I have never seen anything like this, maybe the pacific ocean may be a good caparison ( wish I could use spell check now).

Thanks again, and please dont forget to look at the following post if you have time. It is a follow up from your reply to my inital question. "Which DVDs can be used with only 26" of clearance before I hit my head on the ceiling"

Hello again, Anthony!

Low Max, Kick Max, Cardio Kicks and Kick Punch Crunch (KCP) have cardio / aerobic work as their main focus; although you might get some leg muscle endurance work out of they, that is not their main focus. Boot Camp and Circuit Max combine cardio and weighted resistance cycles, and are more for mid-range to upper-margin cardio and muscle endurance. Legs & Glutes and Muscle Endurance are for . . . well, muscle endurance. No cardio. All of these will give you a good balance of cardio and muscle endurance, but you need others for strength and muscle mass-building.

For STRENGTH work, I'd suggest getting at least two of Cathe's split series (the Gym Styles from the Hard Core Series, Pyramid Upper / Pyramid Lower Body from the Intensity Series, the Slow and Heavy Series from 2000, and/or her Pure Strength series from the late 1990's. I'd suggest starting out with the Gym Styles and the Pyramids; but I really suggest getting Slow and Heavy at some point. Very, very different way of working the muscles.

HTH - never underestimate the ability of a Cathe Fan to spend your money for you!
