Which to choose for someone new to Cathe's tapes?

Hi!
I am overwhelmed by all the great choices of tapes available. Can someone help me decide based on their experience?
I am a regular user of Denise Austin's Sizzler and Kickboxing working outs. I would like to see more results. I am looking for something that takes about 45 minutes, using a step and hand weights are fine. I am particularly interested in slimming down my buttocks and legs as well as tightening up my abs and getting an overall firmer more fit look.
TIA,

How about.......

My first Cathe's tape was Mega Step Blast. If you have already done step before you'll find the choreography fairly simple but the intensity is high. Good luck.

Wedding Tape

Also consider Cathe's "How to Get in Shape for your Wedding." It has 2 workouts: one step and one toning. I don't remember the length of each workout, but I think they would fit your 45 minute requirement.

Another one to consider is BodyMax. It has a very challenging step and lower body sequence, and a separate upper body strength training workout. The entire workout is 90 minutes, but you could split it into two workouts by doing the lower body on one day and the upper body on another.

Happy shopping!

Wedding tape

I'd go with the Wedding Tape unless you've done lots of step. She cues very well, and it isn't too hard to follow. It's pretty intense. The weight workout is another whole workout, and is pretty good too. They are both pretty close to an hour, so hopefully that isn't too long. You will probably want to skip the last section of step when you start, and that will take it to about 45 min.-perfect.
Hope you enjoy your first Cathe- you'll probably want more.

Wedding Tape

The added benefit of the wedding tape is that it has two workouts on it. One step and one strength. Very easy to split up and great for beginner Cathe-ites.
Here is a breakdown of times:
Step workout- 10min warmup, 37min step, 5min cooldown.
Strength workout- 8min warmup, 40 muscle toning, 7 abs, 5 min cooldown.

The times are a little longer than what you wanted, but if you could squeeze it in...it's a great intro to Cathe and well rounded workout.

One other popular shorter workout on the Step is Step Heat. I think that is close to 45 minutes.

Have fun and let us know how you made out!

first video choice

Hi,
I just received my first Cathe tape one week ago.
I ordered the wedding tape and have done it twice now. I absolutely love the step workout!! I chose it because everybody said that it had the easiest steps to learn, which is important to me since I have two left feet. Sure enough, even I could do the steps. But don't think it is boring because the steps aren't as tricky as her usual. It is an intense workout, and lots of fun!! You will work up quite a sweat. My understanding is that although the workout is intense; it is still Cathe's easiest tape. I'm very glad that I started with her easiest, or I would have been discouraged. I have been married for almost 8 years, so I was kinda concerned about ordering a video for brides-to-be, but honestly the wedding talk is not enough to be bothersome. The muscle conditioning is also a very good workout. Very thorough. My opinion - this is a very good tape to begin with!!!

Hi Monique!

It just so happens that I did the step portion of the Wedding tape this morning after returning froma vacation (easing back in after a yoga day and a Firm day). This tape like others said is intense! Although not tricky choreography, it is fun, the music is great and you get that extra bang for your buck with the weight section as well. I'd give this as my vote as well. I have most all of her tapes, and they are all excellent. I agree that this one is a great one to start with. Step Heat as mentioned is a bit shorter and another option would be Step Max, which is divided into three aerobic sections - the last of which is not for the faint of heart!

Happy stepping!
