Which is more effective?

Hello everyone! I'm looking at 2 possible rotations, but I'm not sure which would work for me...I'm advanced cardio, intermediate strength. I only have dumbbells, a step, and ankle weights. I'm looking to lose about 10 lbs of fat and just lean out. I'm short and bulk up very easily, so I'm worried about too much weight training.

Monday: Upper
Tuesay: Cardio
Wednesday: Total
Thursday: Cardio
Friday: Lower
Saturay: Cardio

Mon: Add on upper w/45 min cardio
Tues: Add on lower w/45 min cardio
Weds: Total Strength
Thurs: Add on upper w/45 min cardio
Fri: Add on lower w/45 min cardio
Sat: 1 hr cardio

Upper = CTX Upper Body?
Lower = Leaner Legs?
Total = MIS
Add Ons = Various, anything from Cory Everson to Gilad. About 20 minutes long.

Can MIS, CTX Upper, and Leaner Legs be modified for use with dumbells only?

I'm so confused! There;s just so many choices!

Hi, MMIS29, I like your second choice with it's extra day of cardio for extra leaning power but with the suggestion that you put a day between strength days. Could you do the add ons for M and T together so you can have a cardio only day before doing total body? That'll give your body a chance to repair and build muscle.

M add on upper with cardio
T add on lower with cardio
W cardio only
TH Total Body Strength
F cardio
S Total Body Strength

Or,

M add on upper with cardio
T add on lower with cardio
W cardio
TH Total Body
F cardio
Sa add on upper cardio
S add on lower cardio

Rest. Any one or two cardio workouts can be skipped if it's more than you want. Any workout which call fro a barbell can be done with dumbbells alone.

While I have definitely done strength three times per week per body part, I have found two works just as well for me and leaning out gets a great boost from more cardio not to mention those yummy endorphins! Good luck! :).

This looks like a GREAT deal! I actually broke down and bought a *really* cheap screw on kind just to try out the bar, and I love it. I've been looking into buying the Troy Lite set that Cathe uses. Is this similar? I also wonder how long the bar is?

Mine is 57" and it's going to vary slightly because the bar comes in two pieces and is tapped together so the harder you tap, the shorter the bar. It is longer than the Troy and it comes with two 20 pound plates, two tens and two eights. The bar is 4 pounds so you come up with 20 pounds even when you put on the 8's. The plates are plastic and filled with sand or something like it. It is like the bar Cathe uses in her last few series and I love that barbell!
