Hi all,

I don't know if this question has been asked before, but I was wondering where people went to college. I'm a highschool senior and I'm going through the dread "application process." So what are your alma maters?

Thanks!
Liz

St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa for my Bachelor's
Western Illinois University for my Master's degree
Illinois Central College for my Dental Hygiene degree

Are you looking more for a smaller private school or a larger university? I preferred the personal attention I got at the smaller school, I didn't feel like I was just a number. Good luck, it can be a tough decision.

Sorry to butt in here, but I am very familiar w/ Western & ICC, I'm from Central IL!! I went to University of IL but only for a year. Go, Illini, Go!

Hugs,

Heh heh...Let's see...I went to Glassboro state college for a year where I proceeded to major in drinking and then I moved home and went to the community college in my area for a year where I majored in skipping class for no good reason...Thus the end of my so-called college career! Needless to say, it wasn't for me! }( }( }(

Sometimes I look back with regret that I didn't finish...I never had the urge to go back either though so I guess it just wasn't meant to be for me...

PENN STATE

loved it, loved it, loved it

Can't say enough good things about it. It is a big school, but that never bothered me.

Cambridge university, UK. Then Penn State U for masters, then U of Michigan for PhD. The U of M is a great school and you would get an excellent education there. I highly recommend it. It is also at the forefront of new programs in Humanities and Life Sciences cand the 5th ranked best teaching hospital in the US if you are interested in being pre-med student. I teach at the Spanish department and I can honestly say, our students receive a fab education from a very well structured program, way, way, way better than Penn State. But Penn State has a great geosciences program where my husband taught and got his PhD. Will I see you there?!?!?!?1

Sorry to hijack but I just had to say that Cambridge has one of the most beautiful campuses I have ever seen. I've tagged along with my DH on several occasions when he attended meetings there. One year the attendees where put up in the Queens College dorm. It was so much fun! I loved punting on the Cam and sipping Hot Toddy's at the little pub across the street--can't remember the name. It's a wonderful place!
