It's absolutely gorgeous. But as the old saying goes "you can't get there from there" Americans do sometimes fly up here and depart from Canadian airports, I think.
Glad to see a lot of you like Nags Head. It is my fav beach here in NC! Id htose dern hurricanes would give the piers a break...and quit breaking them!
I am lucky. I saw many, many things, and because my Dad was working there, we got to see a lot of "off the beaten track" things and spend time in people's homes, etc. It was fantastic.
Perhaps you could just nab one of the boats left by the deserting Cubans and take it back over?
We are spending 3 months in victoria bc, with a short side trip to HOH rainforest in Washington State sometime in July. My husband loves the going to the beach to look for rocks and he doesnt ever get sunburned even without sunblock. I on the other hand, burn to a crisp with suncscreen in 10 minutes, have very light sensitive eyes, and prefer it cool and rainy. So I make the best out of a tough situation by reading lots of books and going for runs early in the am before the sun rises. We both enjoy the dense forest hikes.
