Hello, I am pregnant with my 4th and I am 8 weeks along. I already:eek: am starting pooch alittle. It really hurts to wear any jeans that go across my belly button. SIGH....I have not gained any weight at all.. When did you start showing? I cannot even remember when I started showing with my other 3. I know I did show somewhat earlier with my 3rd. I feel like a dork... but boy would I feel so much better in loose fitting clothes!!! Jennifer

Well Jennifer....I'm one of the lucky ones...I just started showing yesterday :7 :7 :7 :7 (ha ha)

Okay seriously...I probably showed around 4 months, but I felt the same as you do...wearing anything tight around my stomach made me crazy and if I wore loose fitting clothes and baggy jeans I didn't really show until later, but if someone saw me in tight clothes they'd definitely know. Everyone is different and I think what your experiencing is pretty normal especially after 3 children. Many of my friends said they immediately began to stick out at 8 weeks already. Sometime I wonder if it's not a psychological response, but it sure does feel physical!!!

I refused to wear maternity clothes until 20 weeks. For some reason I thought I was in better control of myself if I could make it to the 1/2 way mark in 'normal' clothes. My clothes were tighter much earlier, I wore my baggier clothes (like Briee). I'm told that you begin to show earlier w/each pregnancy. This is my 2nd, my 1st was almost 10 years ago so i"m thinking my uterus had plenty of time to recoil.?!?@

Briee, thought maybe you were busy delivering a baby or something...

Hoo boy--I show almost immediately. I always know when I am pregnant, because I have a "thick" feeling in my abdomen. I am the type that gets twin jokes starting at about 20 weeks, because I look ready to deliver right about then. I am short waisted and I carry the baby all out front. If I could post a pic I would, because I almost look like a cartoon of a pregnant lady:p.

take care

Hi!
I'm almost 13 weeks -- I'm not showing yet. By BB's are HUGE -- you'd think the baby was growing in my chest! :)
This is my first baby, so I hear this is common.
Lots of love!

I was like you, Charlene. I only had one. My boobs got big immediately, and stayed that way, but I didn't show until early in the 5th month. I actually looked great. Why can't the top half of me just stay pregnant forever, I wonder? I ultimately gained 35 pounds and breast-fed for 2 years, so after I lost the pregnancy weight I also got to look tall and thin with boobs. They were sometimes a bit lopsided, and I had a baby nearby, but otherwise, I could still delude myself that I was actually a model who was just holding someone else's baby! Those were the days. Now Logan is in college and I have no boobs whatsoever.

Well, maybe this will help you feel better. I am now 6 weeks along, and I swear that my belly is already growing a bit. I don't have a waste any longer, that is for sure. But lately it seems that i have been pregnant more often than not. So, my body really knows what to do in the first trimester now, and it goes back to the shape it was faster I'm sure.
With my frist I was around 3 months and I had to start wearing maternity clothes. I got a lot of customers saying things like, when are you due? And then when I answered that it was another 3 months away they would just be shocked with how large I was. That never helped me make the sale, because as you all know that when you are pregnant you are sensative anyway to what people say. Then when they make rude comments like, Wow, I wasn't even that big at the end of my pregnancy. You tend to get really upset and not want to talk to them ever again, much less sell them jewelry.;)
At least now my customers can't see me, I talk to all of them over the phone, and I don't sell jewelry any longer. So, I won't be such a basket case about how large I get, because I'm sure this one will be not that much different. But, hey, when you're 5'2" tall where is the baby supposed to go, but out, right?

I hope that this helped make you feel better.

Kathy

Not currently pregnant nor will I ever be again, but with my 1st I started really wearing maternity clothes at 5 months. With my 2nd it was more like 3 months, and with my 3rd (and biggest baby) I was in them at 8 weeks it seemed, I know I was showing at 11 weeks(I was in a wedding). Your body does seem to stretch out faster with each subsequent pregnancy. With my 3rd,(I was due in Dec.) I started getting the "so when are you due" questions in August and then the mouth dropping open when I said December type responses. I did have 2 babies that were over 10 pounds!! Not sure if I helped or just verified what everybody else has said. Have a wonderful pregnancy and have a girl for me!!!

From a mom of all boys!!:D
