what's your STUPIDEST beauty related blunder?.....

In December I cut my bangs, no problem they looked good. Next day I attempted to add layers. BIG MISTAKE! I am still waiting for it to grow out. I can not go to my beauty shop until the top layer is meeting the bottom layer. I keep triming the bottom layer. Oh well, hopefully by Easter
Also once before one of my pageants I wanted to have really smooth legs for the swimsuit competition, so I used NAIR (this would have been about 1982 or so). Well I left it on to long and had welted red irritated legs that were very noticable. Oh well, that pageant had and opera singer so I didn't have a chance anyway.
