what's YOUR personal motto???

Hi Gayle,

The main motto I live by is "Learn from the past with an eye to the future."

I'm not big on spending time regretting decisions made or events that occurred that can't be undone. I try to learn from mistakes/happenings but I don't EVER dwell on what might have been or the "if only's". I'd rather focus on what I learned yesterday to help me today and tomorrow. :)

Also, there's 3 sides to every story so NEVER believe the first one.

Aww, Gayle, I was going to respond, too! I like the idea of having a life motto, and I am so happy you brought it up. :)

Nevermind, I am still going to respond. :p

I have a few, but my favorite and the one I really live by is "Nothing worth having is easy." It describes my outlook on life, how I perceive challenges, how I like to work and play. Another is "We must embrace pain and burn it as fuel for our journey." I don't know who said that, I can't remember, but when I read it I though "YES! THAT'S IT!"

That is a very wise way to live!

My personal motto is buck up! Life goes on. Go get me some coffee.

Mine is very similar...suck it up, sunshine!

I actually need to start living by that a little more...that and the Serenity Prayer, especially the line "accept the things I cannot change." That is VERY tough for me since I am a bit of a control freak!

I can't think of anything that isn't terribly clichéd, but basically I'm an "Everything in moderation" and "Don't fear change" kind of chick.

And my favorite quote is: "Worry does not empty tomorrow of sorrow - it empties today of strength." ~ Corrie Ten Boom

My favorites are "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain." and "If it is to be, it's up to me."
