What's the WORST movie you've seen?

You know, as far as acting, screenplay, the whole enchilada. What's the absolute worst movie in your opinion?
The one I'm thinking of off the top of my head is Stigmata with Patricia Arquette. I hated that so much I had to leave the theater. I also hated Dancing with Wolves but I don't think it's a terrible movie, its just not my taste with Costner and all.

My ex-husband once rented Rumble in the Bronx with Jackie Chan and partway through it, as I sat there with a look of utter horror on my face, he turned to me and said "I'm so sorry".

The remake of Planet of the Apes was pretty bad. If I'd had rotten fruit, I'd have thrown it at the screen.

Some of the kid's movies I've rented for Sophie have been awful. The most recent one was Eragon. Just blech.

Congo. This came out in the 90's and my ex wanted to see it. It was the worst movie I have ever seen.

I also hated "Eyes Wide Shut". That's a close second in suckiness to Congo.

Ishtar comes to mind pretty much immediately.

I made the mistake of renting My Super Ex-Girlfriend a few weeks ago. That movie was terrible!

Almost any movie with Bill Murray from the last 10 years or so. His early movies were hilarious, but lately he's been putting out some real stinkers. I know Lost in Translation got rave reviews but I thought it was boring, unrealistic & kind of dumb. The Life Aquatic was just flat out ridiculous.

For me it has to be "Bringing out the Dead" with Nicholas Cage & Patricia Arquette. I know there will be people out there who liked it, but I thought it was sheer toture. Hated the story, hated the acting, hated everything. The only highlight was Marc Anthony as a looney homeless guy. He stole the show in my opinion (if there was much to steal).

What Dreams May Come, with Robin Williams. They had the opportunity to make a beautiful movie about survival and strength, but chose the wrong path and turned it into a really stupid movie.

I'm sure I could think of many other movies that I found terrible (ummm...Batman and Robin...hello?) but the above named is the only one that angers me with how bad it was.

One that come to mind from a recently showing on TV is "Days of Thunder"
There are endless things to laugh at in this cheese bomb of a flick but I particularly get a kick out of "Cole Trickle" and Tom Cruise's general couch jumping Napoleon syndrome cockiness. Seriously Tom, go far far away. ;)

I LOVED Idiocracy, even though it was bad. It was bad in a HIlarious way!! I also loved The Life Aquatic but I love Wes Anderson flicks. I think they're all genius. I can see how they could drive some people up a wall though.:)

"Mulholland Drive." This one made me finally give up on David Lynch movies. I remember turning to my husband and asking him when the midgets were going to show up...and then they DID!!!

What a fun thread! I wish I could contribute, but unfortunately I'm so OCD that I read at least 20 reviews before I see any movie.

The best I can do is say that my least favorite well-reviewed movie is Anchorman with Will Farrell. It was completely over my head, and I did not laugh once.

Idiocracy was not nearly as funny as other movies I have seen but I appreciated the commentary on our society and one can miss the subtleties of the the style of the film and what it is mocking. However, I do confess to an off beat sense of humor ;-)
Frankly, The Gods Must Be Crazy stills gives me a good laugh.

The first 15 minutes of "Titanic" was enough for me...the dialogue, the story...all of it was just so bad that I couldn't watch the whole thing. Even Kate Winslet, one of my favorite actresses, couldn't hold my interest in it.

I could not go with Sideways. I hated the plot that two men were going out to wine country so the guy that was going to get married could basically cheat on his wife to be. I'm not a big wine enthusiast so I didn't get a lot of the references to wine. I asked my husband to shut it off less than halfway through. I didn't want to waste two hours of my life on it. So technically I haven't seen all of it. LOL.....

And I hated Waterworld. What was Kevin Costner thinking? I can't say I liked Dances with Wolves either. I just didn't get into the story of that one...

One of the worst fairly new movies - "The Producers." Mel Brooks should have left well enough alone with the Zero Mostel-Gene Wilder version.

I watched about 5 minutes of the new one and shut it off. Another bad one - whichever Batman movie that had Jack Nicholsen (I'm sure I butchered his last name) as the Joker. That one turned me off on seeing movies in a theater. If you rent a movie you are out so much money if it stinks.

Gasp! Tete, you did not like Titanic? I love Kate too, but Leonardo was unbelievable as Jack to be sure.
I still get teary-eyed when they show that couple holding each other in bed as the ship starts sinking
:-(

The worst movie ever? Pluto Nash with Eddie Murphy, and yes, Mohulland Drive runs a close second.

On the flip side though, I just watched the "Queen" with Helen Mirren. I really liked it, although the actor that played Charles did not resemble the real Prince Charles at all.

I can't wait to see the new one coming out this summer(suppose too) with diane lane and mickey rourke,Ohhhh i forget the name!
