I'm sending good, healing thoughts out to all who will be having rough days for Father's Day.
We celebrated today with my dad, which has become more significant to us than we might have thought otherwise. On Father's Day a few years ago he collapsed just before dinner and his heart stopped. My brother, who among many things has trained as a paramedic, was able to get his heart started and by the time the ambulance got there Dad was alert and "fine." He has Parkinson's, though, and this episode exacerbated what had been a mild case. It was a rough few years for him, but things have turned around again and he's doing well. We still watch him closely without him noticing (we hope) to make sure he is taking it easy and drinking his water. It was determined that he was extremely dehydrated on that particular day and it set off a reaction due to his electrolyte imbalance. We had a wonderful, relaxed day today and breathed a collective sigh of relief that all was well!
