What's a good place to start?

I'm a 48 year old female. 5'9", 260lb I'm in very good health & in pretty good shape for my age & size. I have been using your Maximum Intensity Strength (average 2x's/week) work out for about 10 months & really LOVE it. I also, do a low impact aerobic tape & average working out 5 days a week. I feel great but am not happy that I don't lose weight too. I had a foot injury that prevented me from doing any walking, high impact & stepping exercising. I can now walk without pain & feel it's time to step up my routine in order to lose weight. What would you suggest?

Hi Chris!

I'm glad to hear that your foot has recovered. How intense you should now be working out really depends on how long it has been since your foot has been recovered. If it has only been recently(say in the last 2 weeks)you don't want to jump into things too fast. If its been around a month or so than you can try doing 3 very intense cardio workouts(every other day, say Mon/Wed/Fri)and then a fourth one thats a little less intense. I would also do MIS once per week(or twice if you prefer)but be sure that your weights are very challenging.

If at anytime you feel discomfort in your foot during your workouts, ease off in intensity a bit. If it still hurts, go right to your cool down and then make the following day a rest day. When you pick up again for your next workout, come back slowly and work your way up with intensity. Good Luck!

Suggest a Workout Tape

Cathe, Thank you so much for your reply. I've enjoyed your MIS tape so much & would like to try one of your areobic ones. Can you suggest one or two of your tapes that would get me started?
