What to order next? KPC/L&G or Step Blast/SJP?

Cathlete
Hi there!

I'm officially obsessed w/ Cathe's workouts! I have all the Hardcore (except Extreme and Gym Styles) and Low Impact Step. I'd like to order another DVD, but can't decide between KPC/L&G, or SB/SJP. I'd like another Cathe kickboxing workout for non-step days. I have lots of Tae Bo, but just can't seem to get back into those after working out with Cathe. Her cueing is so impeccable that it really makes me notice how bad the cueing is on the Tae Bo workouts - makes it distracting and not so enjoyable. So, that makes me lean towards KPC. I'd also like another strength workout - I have Muscle Max, and Total Strength (from the Low Impact Step DVD), so maybe L&G would be a good addition.

But, I also really enjoy Cathe's step choreography and have watched the video clip of Step Blast - it looks so fun! SJ&P isn't so much to my taste, but I could work it into the rotations - having another weight circuit option might be good.

My goals are fat loss (I'm 10 pounds away from my goal) and improved muscle definition. My problem area is my middle - I gain weight there, and it is hard to lose from there. My legs are pretty good, but I would like to also lose fat, firm up and improve my definition (all over really.) I'm really working on cleaning up my diet (have started following BFFM principles.) I do sometimes have troublesome knees, but also feel that strengthening my leg muscles would help w/ my knee problems.

So, if you've read this far, thank you! Any advice on which ONE DVD to buy?

Thanks!
Stephanie

Stephanie,

Based on what you said you have, want, and like I would try KPC/L&G - but truly if you don't have any from the Intensity series I think IMAX 2/C&W would be a better choice or even Boot Camp/Muscle Endurance. I think you would love either of those.

Right now KPC and IMAX 2 are heavy on my rotation and they are both tons of fun!

Just my newbie opinion ;)

i am biased but i would go with kpc/l&G b/c the workouts are awesome and the premixes are even better. i love the premixes using both workouts so i get a good leg/kickboxing circuit. kpc is such an awesome workout though, i haven't touched any other kickboxing since getting it acutally. nothing even compares to the intensity as well as the feeling of such victory of completeing the workout. l&g is just an awesome leg workout and i don't have to pull out barbells or anything for a really great leg workout.

Another vote for KPC/L&G--KPC is one of my favorites of Cathe's, and it is great for working on the middle/waist and for the legs!

What sort of premixes are offered on the KPC/L&G DVD? I really want the KPC workout, but don't really like toning videos that are just focused on lower body. I prefer full body workouts, as my upper body is in more need of toning than my legs. I'm trying to figure out if KPC is worth the money, considering I won't likely use L&G often at all (and $45 is a lot of money for one workout video!). Thanks in advance for your help.

here is a list of the premixes. granted there is no upper body but you can get weighted gloves(no more then 2-3 pounds very expierened, light if you have never done it before) to kpc and make it a light upper body day.

If you like kickboxing then get KPC first but Step Blast is definitely worth having also, IMO! I prefer step and it's one of my favorites. The step in SJP is also fun but I don't care for hi/lo in any workout.

Thanks so much, ladies. I will definitely take a look at that link to the premixes and put KPC on my wish list.

How often do you do KPC if you don't have a lot of cardio workouts? Can I do it everyday? You got me wanting that one too and from what I've read heard it was good.

I LOVE KPC. I really like SJP (haven't done SB yet), but I think KPC is so much fun to do. The woodchops kill me, but I grin and bear it!

Legs & Glutes is a great workout.

I completely forgot about all the premixes! Have to check them out :)
