what to eat when your going from game to practice

Hi,

My kids play school soccer plus have club soccer practice during the week. Looking for ideas or best protien bars to give them for when they have intense soccer games and imiditely go to club soccer practice? Thanks!
 
I wouldn't bother with the protein bars. Pack a cooler of yoghurts and fruit, particularly bananas. If they have an hour between the two, a serving of mac and cheese takes my girl through even the toughest soccer games in her premier league.

I am hooked on the Zone bars, $$$$$ though. Of course my child has become a bottomless pit, and I am ready to hook an IV feeding tube....LOL
 
A little bit of sliced low sodium turkey is a good addition also if they can have milk a string cheese is good too in addition to the fruit. I think the banana is an excellent idea because they will need the potassium to bounce back from one activity before they do the next one.
 
My son either as a Z-bar or banana before football practice. These both feel good on his tummy and get him through practice. I've tried other fruit or yogurt, etc. but the Z-bars and banana work great for him.
 
Do they like PB? How about a wrap with PB & banana. Easy to make, easy to eat on the run and full of goodness !

That and a glass (bottle, carton) of milk would defnitely carry them through. Depending on how old, perhaps only a half a wrap so they don't get "bogged down" by the food in their stomach ?

Sandwiches are also a good idea with carbs and protein. Fruit is quick energy also and in combo with a protein you have it made.
