What to do in place of step?

I dont really like step aerobics, what can I do as far as replacing those workouts with other videos? Laura
 
would kickboxing be up your alley?or running? step,kickboxing, and running all get the heart rate up and work the legs.

actually i love kickboxing,and I run also. I just didnt know if if made a difference with resuls in cathe's rotations. I am new to her workouts and it sound like everyone is getting good results with her . laura
 
If I remember hearing correctly, cardio kickboxing burns HUGE calories!! I'm not a step fan either (though I have them, well, because I can't get rid of a Cathe tape/DVD!), and use kickbox quite often in my personal rotations...I would think you could mix up any of her rotations with running or kickboxing and still get amazing results!!

I think i heard she's coming out with more next year (boxing/kixkboxing, that is!!!)???

I get on the treadmill for 45 min to an hour. I have a hard time stepping early in the am.
I fall all over it.( No brain function)
I elevate that bad boy to 12 and go for at least 45 ,then cool down. Burns like 750 calories, and it takes no brain work.I crank up the stereo and put cathe on on fit tv. (Need something to watch.)
I just bought it last week and i was stuck with weight. I dropped 3 lbs this week.
I guess it was worth the 1100.bucks.

I second (or third or fourth!) kickboxing. Also, you could do: rebounding, spinning, walking, floor aerobics, dependiing on your interests and equipment.
 
I just get bored with stepping. I like more of the bootcamp type workouts and overall strength training better. I would rather run that do step aerobics. I keep hearing how everyone likes Imax2 and I read that it is step aerobics so I havent bought it. I am afraid I wont like it. I am okay doing some step but not an entire workout with step only. Just something about it that I dont like.

I try to step once a week. But I spin 3-4 times a week for at least an hour. Also, I ditto everyone else on the kickboxing. This is one aerobic exercise that is full body with the punches and kicks. Really, tones your upper body with regular rotation.
