What move should I see?

My wonderful mother has offered to take my kids for an afternoon! Thought instead of the usual - coming home and cleaning - I'd treat myself to a movie. Kind of wanted to see The Grey but it's not getting the best reviews. That George Clooney one is supposed to be good but ... sounds depressing. Already saw Girl w/ the Dragon Tattoo. Thinking of Too Loud and Incredibly Close. Mostly appealed to me because it seems the boy is obviously on the Autism spectrum - as is my daughter. Just looking for any input from other Cathletes.

Sorry about the typo! It was obviously moviE .. not move :)

If you haven't read Extremely Loud, I recommend seeing it. It's really sad, but well acted. If you've read the book, be prepared to be upset with some of the best parts being left out. I brought my daughter to see it, and she had not read the book and she really enjoyed it.

That was my problem w/ Girl with the Dragon Tattoo! Once you've read the book movies are usually a bit annoying :) Not even really movie-makers fault - often there is just too much material to translate into a movie.

I agree completely, I would rather see that series as a mini-series on the BBC.

I love the Stephanie Plum books. Is the movie good? I've been wanting to see it, but didn't know if it did the book justice. You liked it???

Hi,

I just went to see "Underworld Awakening" and it was awesome and very much in keeping with the other movies in the underworld series with some new twists. If you like Underworld, Lycans, and Vampires then You'll like this action packed kick butt sequel. I love this kind of stuff and it was fun and I saw it in 3D which was so cool. Underworld Awakening gets my vote!

Enjoy whatever you decide to see!;)

My husband and I saw a very good movie last week...it is no longer in theatres so we had to order it online from Amazon.

It is called "Sarah's Key"...it is foreign with sub-titles, but it is excellent...very worth the time.

Is The Artist showing anywhere near you? What a brave and fabulous film. Imagine making and financially backing a silent movie in 2012! Truly wonderful and a loving homage to film making and its stars and industry. This is the most iconoclastic film out today.

Failing that, Mission Impossible 4 was thrills and spills (and personally, I loathe Tom Cruise so that is saying something) and my teen daughters swear by Sherlock Holmes 2. Although, if you can grab some DVDs, the Sherlock TV series by the BBC starring Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch is da bomb! Buy it now, no delay! Best TV I have seen for the last few years actually. Although Justified season 2 was pretty damn good. Love Timothy Olyphant. Sigh......

I know it's to late bt for whats its worth, Hugo. I don't see alot of movies just because they are so expensive. But this was really really good. It was in 3-D also which most of us can't see at home. It's a beautiful movie, and just a really good story as well. I would actually pay to see it again. I recommend it highly.

Sarah, I loved Hugo too! It was my favorite movie this year, just magical. The book was excellent, but I enjoyed the movie even more! Even the dust motes in the 3-D had me in awe!
