What move do you just hate?

Thanks Kathryn! I'll have to try your richochet substitute when I'm at home. I may get some looks if I stand up in the office and try it : )

Only two, really. The first is Slam-its. I know a lot of people love them, but they just kill my knees. The second is power lunges/power scissors -- same reason, plus I just got ZERO of those explosive muscle fibers, so anything plyo is just hellacious for me (even if my knees are having a good day.) :)

Lucky for me these are both easy moves to work around. :)

>Jump tucks. I just can't do them.

I can't either! If I do them on a rebounder, I can do something that looks similar, but no "tuck" to my jump-tucks otherwise! My body just doesn't want to move that way!

This is actually one of my FAVORITE moves, LOL! I like "flying across the step."

Pivots can also almost always be replaced with mambos. Believe me, I do a LOT of that!

Am I the only one who loves triples? Sometimes I add them in early. I don't really know why, but I always look forward to these! Moves I don't really enjoy would have to include:

Shoulder Stands from Push/Pull
Planks! (But I force myself to do them)

Isn't it great that we all like different things?

Plie jacks - especially when there are 92 billion of them

Jump Tucks - you get one or the other - I can't do both - at 5'10 there's too much of me to launch into the air.

Power lunges - holy cow - I start off looking like I'm doing a lunge, then I kind of progress to doing something like scissors especially in Kick Max.

I don't mind triples around the step, although I love the person who calling them tripping around the step. In RS there's a section where we do them - and for some reason I can NEVER remember they're coming up. I usually end up tripping over the step.

For me it's,

Ball pikes...just can't do them. I think it's all in the ball. My current ball that I use is for those 5'3 and I'm 5'5 but when I used the one for 65 cm it was too big, so go figure x(

tripples around the board...sometimes I get them, sometimes I don't
(once again, carpeting slows me down)

mambo cha chas and pivot turns ( I know this is only because I do it on carpeting)

that horse-shoe kick move in I believe the third combo of Rythmic step...what is that all about? You do hoarse shoe, then a knee kick and then I'm lost, all I know is she turns and ends up back on the step...that drives me crazy because I just can't get itx(

dynamic outer thighs in LM, usually it's okay. But gosh, I think you do about 100 of them in Combo 4...yikes;-)

Katrina

I like most everything, even the ones that are difficult, but I don't like "shuffle down the board", because I work out on carpet and it's hard to do quickly, I feel I'm sticking to the carpet.

I hate tuck jumps only because they are so tough, so if I'm not up to it, I substitute a flying jack.

I don't hate much, but sashays, either on floor or onto step as in MIC, are unappetising and my body doesn't like to do them. Love pivots, mambos, triples and all that jazz.

Re: jumps. I like tuck jumps well enough, but plie jumps (Imax 3) are a mite difficult so I can only manage a certain number before I resort to simple plie jacks to keep the momentum.

Oh, and I never do windmills either. I sub a different move that's tougher!

Anybody else have trouble wiht straddle taps? Oh man, I just can't do them fast enough! The good thing is that even my attempts send my heart rate soaring! Oh, levitation holds - Forget about it! I don't even try anymore. Phyllis

>There aren't any moves I hate. I hate that I still can't do

I found an easier way to do levitation holds today.

I was in one of the treatment rooms in the acupuncturist's office today, sitting on the cushioned table, and for some reason, I decided to see if I could do a levitation hold. I could, in any of three positions: hands bent at wrist, hands bent at joint of finger that joins hand, or hands fisted. I was still in "sitting" position, and definitely got all of me off the table! (of course, you'd have to have a padded table at home to do it: something about the firmness with the cushion over it seemed to help).

>Anybody else have trouble wiht straddle taps? Oh man, I just
>can't do them fast enough!

I used to do them about 1/2 time, but one day, they just clicked, and now I can do (almost all of) them pretty well. They take a lot of core bracing to do them well, IMO.

I am not fond of skipping across the step.

I dislike jacks in a step w/o only because I don't have enough room to really do them correctly.

I can't do the...OH NO I FORGOT THE NAME OF IT! ....the move in C&W where you jump on the step one foot after the other with a wide stance and do a fast moving thing with your feet (keeping the wide stance) and get right back off the step...GRRR, what's it called!?!? You probably have no clue what I'm trying to describe either! LOL Anyway, I hate that move cause I can't do it to save my life!:p

the wide tap cha cha type thing on the step? yeah, I hate that too! That is the one move that makes me feel awkward and clumsy x(

Missy

>>There aren't any moves I hate. I hate that I still can't
>do
>>levitation holds.

I can't do them either. I can get my butt and thighs off the floor but my knees, calves & feet seem to be GLUED to the carpet! They won't budge! x(

What's the secret? There has GOT to be a secret!!!!

I have moved my hand all over the place and that doesn't help either!:-(
