What makes Cathe, well...Cathe??

I think it's pretty cool that Cathe doesn't give advice in areas where she feels that she isn't the expert. She will give her opinion (sometimes) on injurys and diets, but she will always suggest seeing an expert and doing what's best for each person's body.

There are so many people in the fitness industry that seem to think they know everything- exercise, diet, mental health, stress, injuries... when really what they are truly trained to know is only one or two of those areas. So, a lot of bad advice is given, and many people are injured or never find a solution because someone who is not an expert is acting like one. Now, I'm not saying that I wouldn't take Cathe's advice on injuries and diet as being expert-ish! It's obvious that she def. knows some secrets!
 
I have other workout DVD's some of which I enjoy but no one compares to Cathe. I know some people here have been fortunate to meet her, . . . I wish I could be so lucky. I'd probably freak out. I'd be more star struck meeting her than I would Brad Pitt. Cathe has just changed my life, . . .and her crew Jai, Lorraine, Cede, and Brenda, . .I just feel like we're all friends working out in the comfort of my own home. They grunt and groan when I do and did you ever notice how Cathe always seems to know when you need that extra burst of energy to get through it? She'll say something like "This is your time." "You gotta push yourself." She just is the absolute standard of advanced home fitness. She lives a healthy lifestyle, . .she cares about what her followers think, she is a true inspiration. Okay gotta stop now before I get all teary eyed. I mean as a former fat girl who was so outa shape I would be outa breath if you asked me to walk across the street to being someone who can run 25 miles a week and Imax my heart out, . . . . I mean that just changes you. It changes how you look at life and who you are. I don't know if Cathe realizes how huge that is? Besides if it weren't for her I would never have met all the fabulous people here on this forum, . . who I just love chatting it up with.
 
She knows exactly what I need to hear like..."oh, quit your moaning!"
"jump higher!"
"get your game faces on!"
and many more that push me to finish.
Thanks Cathe, hope you have cheerleaders in your life.
 
In the middle of doing Cardio Kicks today, I was a totally sweaty mess, and I thought how great it was to be exercising indoors, in my air-conditioned den, with the ceiling fan on high, and still work up a great sweat! I love the advanced nature of Cathe's workouts--I haven't seen any other instructors' workouts on dvd that are as tough--and as fun--as Cathe's. She's the greatest!!
 
I just recently bought the Gymstyles (which I love!) and when Cathe says in the shoulder workout (?) "Did they all just scatter!" (or something like that!) I-LOVE-IT!!!!!!! :D She is just so real! She is just like the friend you have that would say something like that. She is a real person and that shines through. Cathe has the gift of her real self comes through for us all to enjoy and just love :)
 
Her professionalism is really refreshing. So often, I don't feel like other instructors really have the kind of physique or endurance I would aspire to, and Cathe really embodies all of that. Plus, its nice to know she eats peanut butter :D
 
When you ask me about Cathe I always think of when I was just starting to work out with her. I was lifting a weight that was heavy for me and I was really struggling, I think we were doing plie squats, it was at least a leg exercise. I looked up and her legs were shaking. I LOVED that. She was so real. She wasn't trying to be something she wasn't. She wasn't trying to cover up that she was working too. She wasn't lifting too light of a weight so she could get through a tough workout and still look pretty. She was a real, genuine woman working as hard as I was trying to do better. I thought that if she could work that hard in front of the camera and still do the entire workout I certainly could give my best to finish the workout. I guess it boils down to how genuine she is.

I just have to say that Cathe has helped me to become fitter and stronger than I ever thought I could be! :) This in turn has made me so much calmer and more accepting of my body flaws and just happy that my body is strong and healthy! She's my hero! I don't know what I would say if I ever met her! Except Thanks!

ITA! One of the things Cathe does that no one else I've ever worked out with does is that she takes the time to give you information in advance of the workout so you know what to expect and how to work it into your routine/rotation. (i.e how many weeks/days to use a particular dvd in a rotation, etc.).

I have never felt better!

Because she works out with me the whole time and motivates me to dig deeper.

Just when I am yelling "no" to the tv, she says "oh yes you can" or "just a couple more" and somehow I CAN. She makes me be proud of myself.

My reason too! I have to finish the reps or else I feel like I let her down(and that she's watching me:))
 
You know that she looks like she does because she does the work that she's asking you to do. She doesn't dumb her workouts down for her audience, baby us, or give us an easier workout because she's afraid we can't handle it.

She really challenges you to challenge yourself. But at the same time, she encourages you not to go overboard, to accept where you are at the moment, keep it safe, and build yourself up to get stronger over time.

I'm so happy with her, I never buy anyone else's videos!
