What kind of sneakers do you wear?

I'm curious. This time I ordered Ryka Mid-Studio (Instructor) style sneakers. I have been wearing Ryka Circuit XTs which I have absolutely battered in only 4 months. Normally I only know I have to replace sneakers because my shins start bothering me, but these are actually falling apart! The rubber on the bottom is coming off. I am pretty distressed about this and hope it isn't indicative of Ryka quality (since they're the only sneakers I really like to work out in). Perhaps it's just all of the high-impact I've been doing.

Anyway, does anyone wear the mid style? Does it give you a lot more support? I ordered online so I probably won't get them for a couple more days.

What's your latest sneaker experience?

Marie,
I've had the same type of Ryka Enlight I (many pairs over a couple of years) and have loved them to death. They feel a little stiff when I first get them, but soon I feel completely supported and cushioned through all the high impact. I've NEVER had a problem with them coming apart in any way before I need to change to a new pair.

They are becoming increasingly hard to find and I think the last couple pairs I found brand new from an ebay seller.

Good luck:)

I was wearing Ryka Enlight II when I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago doing a step workout. I also wear the Ryka N-gage studio. For jogging and walking my Dr. reccommended New Balance. I only wear these shoes when I am doing these activites. I have Nike and Reeboks for my everyday wear.

I have tried so many different kinds of sneakers. I keep trying to like Rykas and I have a pair of the N-Gage that are out right now. I also have a pair of the Enlight that I bought. For some reason, I just find that Rykas seem to break down on me and stop supporting my foot too quickly.

In the summer, I play tennis quite a bit and love, love, love Adidas shoes made for tennis. One day I decided to try my tennis shoes for a workout. I wish I would have had that revelation sooner! Now I use my 'tennis' shoes for my aerobic workouts. I'm wearing a pair of Adidas A3 Accelerate shoes that I really like. Admittedly they are a little heavy for some workouts which is why I still have the Rykas but for high impact workouts, they work perfectly.

I love Asics. They're really light & cushiony. Also Nike. And I often buy running shoes rather than Xtrainers. I find them much more comfortable & my feet cramp less when I do aerobics.

I hate to say this but I'm not a big fan of the Rykas. I find they really lack cushion and, well, they're kind of cheaply made. I've only had one pair (Engage I) that actually felt good. The last two pair I bought felt like combat boots--almost like I was walking on cement--& have been sitting in my closet for more than a year.

Haven't worn mids since about 1999. :p

I've got a pair of Ryka. I'm not sure which model, but they were the only pair the store had for cross-training. I really like them a lot. Probably time to start looking for a new pair, though. They're almost 2 years old.

I have a pair of Ryka Enlight II's and a pair of the N-Gage cross trainers and they've both held up beautifully; however, I'm reasonably certain that my shoes don't see near the action that yours see :D :p

I just got some New Balance cross trainers. They feel great on my feet and they're pretty too. :) I love all-white shoes!

I have 3 pair I rotate. New Balance, Saucony and Asics something or other. Sorry, I'm not more sneaker savvy!

I hear the Rykas are fabulous. That may be my next indulgence.

I wear Sketchers that my Dad bought me for my birthday- are they bad?!? They seem to be doing great! :)But I am looking for some better running shoes.
