I have done the hard rock while in school/college. Went to see Metallica (great concert), Van Halen, and several others. Now I have mellowed out more and do a lot of counrty.
 
I didn't vote because I listen to it all. I like all music and listen to quite a variety. I'm not into real heavy metal though. In my car I have "Mana" playing (my favorite latin group). On my radio at work it's soft rock.
 
I can't vote in this poll, partly because I listen to such a wide variety of music and partly because a lot of what I listen to isn't listed.

My favorite song in a Cathe workout is "I wanna rock"..don't know if that is the exact title or not, but you guys know what I am talking about.

i listen to pretty much everything but country, and one of my supervisors listens to it at work so i get forced into it

Oops, I misvoted, am still shaking from that workout. I vote for Old School and R&B. Nothing beats Al Green. Nothiing.
 
I can't vote either, because I listen to a variety: Latin, rap (usually French), rock, French pop, top 40's, French music from the 30's and 40's, reggae (again, mostly French), raï (arabic pop music). The only things I DON'T listen to are full-blown country...blech! (Though I will listen to cross-over) and religious music.
 
I listen to dance/club/house music, similar to some of the stuff Cathe has in her videos. Hed Kandi, Naked Music and Bargrooves are a great series!
 
I didn't vote because there wasn't a category for other. I'm more of a classic rock fan - you know, the 80's hair bands and old Styx & Boston - that type of music. I also listen to just about everything except country and hard rap. I enjoy hip-hop, dance, pop, easy listening, and something called new age/space music (www.mysticradio.com will give you an example of this category, but this website is by no means the authority on this style of music).

An interesting observation is that I've heard that rap is on the way "out" and that country is coming "in"...and your poll results illustrate that quite well.
 
My all time favorite arist is Prince. He could fall into several of the 'types' listed. I voted for R&B as this is most likely the cateogory under which the majority of record store owners would place his stuff. He is a true genius in my humble opinion.

I also listen to The Beatles, Nat King Cole, Bjork, Beck, U2, Sting, serveral Christian bands and about a thousand other artists. I love music - thanks for starting this poll.

Most of my music collecttion comprises Brazilian music, bossa nova, jazz, funk and pop.

In English, it's mainly Prince and Norah Jones.

I didn't vote either b/c I like almost all types. I'm not big on country but I can tolerate it. I love the hair bands from the 80's like GNR, Poison, Skid Row, Cinderella. I also like NIN, Korn, Jane's Addiction, Nickleback, Culture Club, I could go on and on.
 
Hmmm, well I definitely have my various moments. I love some hard rock like Metallica, Rage against the machine, White Zombie, and Nine in Nails, etc. But then I have my Lounge moments like all of the Buddah Bar series (Buddah bar 6 is the BEST), Groove Armada, Lemon Jelly, and St. Germain, etc. Then there are days I want to hear the old 80's new wave like King, ABC, The Church, Gene loves Jezabell, Yaz, Pet shop boys, etc. I also like old school rap, Eric B, Wee poppa girl rappers, Salt and Peppa, NWA, DJ EZ rock, and Africa Bambataa, etc.

Right now I am into Moby, Beck, and the new Billy Idol. I do enjoy Jazz, Classical, and Big Band from time to time.


I guess I don't care much for anything top 40 (that's why the Blast Series musically drove me nuts)nor country.

Yeah, I like pretty much a little bit of everything, it depends on my mood. I like Duran Duran, Aerosmith, Pantera, Korn, Kelly Clarkson, Tori Amos, Kyle Minogue, Prince.. And then if I'm in the mood even some Jazz, and counrty. Heck I will even listen to Classical if I'm stuck in traffic and looking to relax. It's a pretty big variety, I'm a big channel surfer due to my tastes. ONe thing for sure though, I really don't care for Britney Spears, she's the only one that I can really say that I will just never listen to. I just don't like her voice, and don't like her music.

Tallchick...my older sister listend to Al Green like everyday. It still amazes my DH whenever an Al Green song comes on I seem to know all the words...:)...yep I have him on CD!!!...Carole
 
Didn't vote either as I listen to alot of Alternative. Also I am with catwoman on Styx and especially Boston!!! I like some hard rock, classic rock, oldies, easy listening, disco...absolutely no country or rap...:)...Carole
