What is Your Favorite Exercise? And Least Favorite?

Just curious...what is the exercise you love most in life? The one you do and look around to see if anyone's watching because you look damn good doing it? The one that makes you feel empowered and strong and ready to conquer anything?

And what is the one exercise you hate to do? That you just dread doing and barely make it through (maybe even fast forward through a Cathe workout)?

For me...I love doing ab leg throws, you know, where a partner stands above you and throws your feet to the ground. I also love...love...the way shoulder raises with the band (as in Cathe's Gym Series) makes me feel.

But I hate...HATE...push ups. Ugh! I don't know why, really. And if anyone can tell me how to love them more...please tell me your secret.

So, your fav and least fav?

Fun question!

I love mambo cha-cha's! I don't know how good I look doing them, but I love them. I also love doing bicep curls-especially in PUB! I feel strong!

I do not like leg presses!! I'm not a big fan of mountain climbers either.

Lisa...are mountain climbers the ones where you get on all fours and then run in place, alternating feet? If so...OMG! I hate those, too!

.

I hate push-ups too. Still trying to do the real push-ups and not the girlie pushups and I cannot do it . My favorite leg exercise is barbell squats. I feel how strong and toned my legs and butt are everytime I do that one. PLus, my husband always checks me out during that one. For upper body, I love bicep work and shoulder work. I am finally seeing my arms tone up after over a year. It feels good! The one leg exercise I hate because it burns, burns, burns are the static lunges, yowsers! Again, I like the results they giv, just not the fire!

Well, I love push ups (did 180 of the suckers yesterday), but my favourite exercise is pullovers. I also really like plie squats, running and crunches on the ball. I also like my own gliding disk splits. I like static lunges or gliding disk lunges, but really do not like those angled lunges Cathe does in STS Meso 1.

I hate anything to do with step cardio and am not a big fan of Kettlebell cleans.

To love push ups more, really pay attention to form. Don't try to go down all the way, just really try to feel the chest muscles and core working. Don't use your arm muscles so much as your chest - contract the hell out of it. If you want to work up to full push ups, or just want a change, try standing pushups leaning off a counter or desk, and really go all the way down into them, chest hitting the counter. Makes you feel really powerful, as well as hitting the upper chest muscle more.

Hands down - I LOVE to run. To me, nothing even comes close to those endorphins during and after a run.

I hate pushups as well! I am doing STS and happy to be out of Meso 1 which had a gazillion pushups!

Love- Any inner thigh work with band/ankle weights/ball or Plie squats.
Pushups
One or Double Arm Rows

Strongly dislike- Hammer down lunges , like in KPC
Preacher curls
Leg Presses

Love- :DTrail Running- Fearless, I am.
Pendulum Across- Its like I'm flyin'!

No Love:eek:
Tricep dips
Power lunges- I end up doing scissors because I can't get down and up fast enough to keep with Cathe.

Love this thread! It's so interesting :)

LOVE
Calf raises
Plie squats with a dumbell (not a barbell! ugh)
Tricep dips (especially with a barbell on my thighs)
I love push ups.. can't do them very well.. but am seeing HUGE improvements since I decided just to go for it :)
Ab work... nearly all I LOVE.. I love the feeling of being able to tense your muscles and LIFT. It's awesome!
HATE
Static lunges. Ouch! And they make my tummy feel all funny
Shoulder overhead presses. I can't do these with a very heavy weight AT ALL no matter how heavy I can lift on other exercises
Explosive crunches: these feel silly to me
Tricep overhead press: the quivering feeling makes me feel nautious!

What a great thread!

LOVE
Deadlifts
Squats
Lunges with front foot raised
Firewalkers

HATE
Push ups (thanks for the advice, morningstar!)
Explosive lunges
Tricep dips
Leg floorwork

I love lateral raises and front raises for shoulders, tricep kickbacks and cross-body kickbacks. I like these exercises primarily because I can clearly feel the burn, and know I'm spending my time productively.

As for dislikes, it's a tie between static lunges and overhead presses. I dislike static lunges because I just don't feel them in my glutes very much, and they feel like they're more effort than they're worth. As for overhead presses for shoulders, I just can't do very many no matter how hard I try.

ETA: Zozo, I just saw your post. Sounds like we have a lot in common!

If you actually want to make exercise fun, make it naughty and sneak it in when you're supposed to be doing something else. When you're at a meeting and bored out of your mind, slip into a quiet room and drop and do 16 push ups. Waiting for the photocopier? Do 12 counter push ups. Really mad at a boss? Do body squats with kicks, imagining your boss at the other end of the kick. Blow off some steam and do 16 one-legged tricep dips off the lunchroom counter while waiting for the microwave to go off. Having lunch with a co-worker? Do butt squeezes in your seat. Do calf raises as you take the stairs. Of course, do these on strength days rather than recovery days if you're really going for it.

LOVE:deadlifts, squats, incline beanch press, overhead press.

HATE: Preacher curls, concentration curl ups, I can't go heavy on this one's and hate that!!!!

Likes:

Cardio, kickbox and step preferrably.
firewalkers
one legged deadlifts like in kpc
shoulder work although it burns like crazy:D

Dislikes:
leg presses my heart rate spikes so fast.
tricep dips they make my wrists hurt
push ups they also make my wrists hurt and I have to do girly ones, I also do them with my hands on my step.

:D It does seem like we have a lot in common :)
I'm VERRY pleased someone else doesn't like overhead presses. Maybe our shoulders are afraid of heights? He hee.

:)

LOVE: any type of weight training

HATE: any type of cardio

:D
I'm quite similar, however I often reward myself with chocolate after an extended cardio session (90 minutes usually ) so it does have its perks.

BUT i totally agree that weight training is more fun than cardio :) (I think my muscles disagree though)
