What is the latest popular "jeans"???

RE: What is the latest popular

Hudson's and 7's are great looking! it all depends on your body style, but I'd give them a try.

But really for the price....go try on the Hipster jeans at A&E. They have 2 styles - one with 1% spandex and one without. I love both, the 1% spandex holds it shape better after wearing all night. But I think i paid $30 bucks and they are by far my favorite pair.

Definitely the folllowing brands are worth it:

Hudson Signature Boot Cut - VERY sexy, hip looking
James Jeans (James bootcut or Tom straight leg)
Joe's Jeans (they have a petite length, which I need, but also really like their Socialite fit)

No matter what i get, i need to have the waist taken in & unless petite size, at least 2-3" off length...oh, well.

I always had trouble finding jeans that fit me right. I finally found Lucky's. Started with the mid-rise ones - Easy Rider and Sweet and Low and ended up loving, absolutely loving, the Sweet Dream Style. I have now accumulated quite a few pairs of these as nothing fits me, or looks the way I want them to, other than Lucky's! As my niece says, "lucky's are good butt jeans."

Good luck and have fun!! The Buckle carried Lucky's if you have that store - you can find some on their clearance racks as well.

Jane,
I completely agree with your niece's take on Lucky's! I wear the Easy Rider. How does the Sweet Dream style fit differently?

HI Cathy,

Sweet Dreams a slimmer fit so I go up a size in those (thanks to the darn muscle in the thighs :) ) - the rise is lower - @ 8 inches, but they are higher in the back. I just love the way these fit versus the Easy Riders. The denim feel of all Lucky's is incredible!

HTH!

Thanks, Jane. I'll look for them next time I hit the Lucky store.

Oh Lord, I'm with you! I just got down to a size 14 (from 24, and still going down) and hadn't put on a pair of jeans in 15 years. I'm a curvy girl with a small-ish waist so fit is the big thing. Most of the normal-price jeans don't fit but there was no way I was going to pay $200 for a pair of blue jeans. I mean, please. Sometimes I think if people will spend the money there's no incentive for manufacturers of anything ($40,000 cars, for instance) to keep costs down. Too bad we can't get people to boycott this stuff...

For my shape I really love J.C. Penney's A.N.A. (A New Approach) straight leg jeans. They're low-rise but not looooooow-rise and they fit my shape very well. I wear several other styles and brands but when I wear these at work the men go nuts and the women ask what I'm wearing. One female co-worker said "You wear jeans VERY well (!)." So, if you're a curvy girl I recommend checking them out. They're around $25 but I got mine on sale for $16 in the store. They're also available in their catalog. So far, they're only offered in a medium-light stonewash, a dark blue denim, and black. Curvy girls (If you have a butt, that is) should give them a try. After you buy 5 pairs for under $100 and the compliments start rolling in you'll thank me.

Check out www.zafu.com. You plug in answers to questions about how jeans usually fit you and what problem areas you have with fit, and it gives you a list of options to try. My problem is the gap that always appears in the back. I do not need to be showing that kind of cleavage!

I've gone to stores, zafu list in hand, and have had some good experience with finding better fitting jeans.

Depends on how much are you willing to pay, but I can give you two brands and styles that are super popular right now.

Banana Republic's Contour Dark Wash Wide Leg Jean. Back in stock on .com just this weekend. Good luck finding your size at the stores. They're $88.

Lucky Brand Jeans Manhattan Wide Leg Denim Trousers. Good luck finding these! They're sold out everywhere. They're $120.

I hope this helps. :)

I haven't read the other responses, but I say forget fashion and wear what looks good on YOU.

(I learned that lesson when I was 11 years old. Everyone was wearing the pin-straight "Twiggy" hairdo and I HAD to have it. My hairdresser tried to talk me out of it but I wouldn't take no for an answer. It looked great on Twiggy, but what the heck did it have to do with me and my curly, frizzy hair and round face? It was a MAJOR disaster :p )
