What is the best exercise to lift your behind?

Can anyone give me information that has helped them to lift their behind? I have done all the obvious exercises but still can't seem to lift my butt! I have a sit down job that I have done for 25 years and this probably has some to do with it. I have worked out for over 20 years but all my fat is stored in my hips. I have just gotten hooked on Cathe. I started doing all her workouts since September and have definitely more muscle, expecially in my core area and upper body, but my legs and hips haven't really changed any. I love her workouts! She is SO challenging and pushes me to work my hardest. Anyone have any ideas for me?

Thanks!

Hi Cindi,

Stepping up and down on a tall box is good for the behind. I am currently a Firm user(awaiting the delivery of her first Cathe tape!) so I do that exercise a lot with their fanny lifter and it really does help! I know Cathe now has the tall step so you are good to go if you want to try it.:)

Step-ups (also called leg presses) like the Firm and Cathe in PLB, and floor work targeted to the glutes (as in the FIrm's "Buns, Hips and Thighs" workout) really help me in this area.

I was exactly the same way until I started to really focus on the body part I was trying to work. For example, with leg presses make sure you isolate right where your behind meets your thigh. Focusing has made ALL the difference for me. Also, when doing lunges, press your heal of your front leg into the floor and you will definitely feel that after a few reps. With squats, press both heals into the floor. Good luck

Hope that helps, Wendy

Hi Everybody!

Thanks for all the information! I really appreciate it! I'll try to incorporate all your ideas into my workouts.

Merry Christmas!

I have found that when I have Muscle Endurance or High Step Challenge, Legs and Glutes, and Tae Bo Original Advanced in my regular rotation I have the best glute tone (and lift). ME and Tae Bo also give the best ab tone.

Leg press to some extent but glute lifts to the back are ideal for lifting your gluteus maximus to the maximus. Do sets with leg straight in the hip socket and legs turned out.

WALKING LUNGES!!!!

They really do wonders for the entire leg, and those glute raises in ME seem to work things a little differently. Legs and glutes plus 200 walking lunges have really done some nice things for my cheeks (nice and high!!!) I just gotta remember to do them!

I agree with everyone's posts--
If you live in a hilly area, or know where some good hills are...
Walking UP them is a good butt buster;-)

I like to do squats with the stability ball against the wall and positioned at the small of your back, ditto for lunges. Really works the legs and glutes and you don't need weights! (Unless you want to!)

RE: too funny!

I find walking lunges and deadlifts to work wonders on my tush. All the ideas are great though!
