Yeah in the mix and max it's not a section so the DVD doesn't know where to stop, so it keeps going until it see a stop sign. When a stop sign for you is when it's at the end of the section and it goes back to the main menu. For your DVD player, there is a little stop sign on the dics and it of course stops and goes back to main menu.
Tytbody,
I also wish I could come over and see what excatly your DVD player waas doing, but for your book you can program it with markers if you want, that's fine, but as hard as you've looked I don't think you have a programiable DVD. You have markers to play back certain scenes, which I also have and you can use them whatever way you want.
As for my chapters, all I see are numbers, and that has been on all 3 DVD players I've bought. I don't have any words or anything just a list of numbers. So you may have more advance DVD player then I do, and it gives the name of the chapters. Though it's odd the writing is so small, but then again if it is listing all the chapters, it would have to be really small to fit the m all on the screen.
Okay standard chapters are 5 minutes intervals. Just like there is a mark in the book every 5 pages, and with those marks you can flip threw 60 pages really quick and get to where you want. Or you can count those marks and remember where you are. Standard chaptering is mainly for fast forwarding or rewinding or locating some type of scene you want to see for whatever reason.
The specal chapters that some of Cathe's DVDs have, those if you have a programible DVD player, you can tell it to play this chapter, this chapter and that chapter. For a quick and dirty workout or one that you are customizing for your own needs. These chapters are not 5 minute intervals, they can be less then 1 minute, more then 10 minutes whatever Cathe decided to do. These are Cathe's special chapters and you won't find anything else like it on another DVD. As unless you happen to have DVD by annother instructor that decided to copy her.
With standard chapters what I do, for clients is when they want me to take part a DVD and tell them what areas to do, is I go threw and tell them what chapters the exercises are in, and then explain which ones, standard chapters are usually used as indicators or markers, or a way to get to the end of the DVD fast. They aren't as useful as Cathe's chapters but it also depends how you use them and what you use them for.
I hope this helps. As I tried to find a link that explained chapters better, but it's all tech talk and I had to read it 3 or 4 times to realize that they said the same thing I did, just with really odd words, that were very confusing as it sounds like they were talking in a circle. So here as simple as I can. chapters are a special section in the DVD, that in general are 5 minutes, if you have a forward chapter feature, you just click on the button and your are jumped 5 minutes from the last chapter you were in. You can keep hitting that button and you will keep incrementing 5 minutes almost instantly until you reach the end of the DVD. Some DVDs have made it so when you go to the next chapter a new exercise or sub setion starts. others, didn't care and you land in the middle of an exercise, sub section, commerical, where ever. With these what you normally do is just fast forward to whatever chater you want, then sit and wait for the exercise you want to do or see. As they only move on 5 minute intervals, so you got beteen two seconds and 0:4:49 minutes to wait for what you want to see or do.
I hope this helps.
