What is also sad is that the newbies don't just "happen to come into a forum and start up trouble" They learn it. They watch, see how others behave and mimic the behaviour of others. (I know, I've done it myself and retreated very quickly and regretted it! But I was copying others)
That's were we disagree!! They are not children who see the adults doing something wrong and just copy it. I don't think they need any role models so to speak.
I didn't read Tamis comments as offensive, I don't think it was her intention to offend, perhaps thoughtless? Why wasn't that just ignored? Why was a response needed? Do you see what I am trying to get at? Theres a stalemate here. No-one is ever going to agree, but to entice arguments isn't going to solve the problems. Why does the group, need to back each other up? Why do certain persons, keep coming in stirring? Why can't they have their say and leave it? If SS felt the need, he could've told Tami to pull her head in.
You know, you are going out of your way in defending Tami. She made extremely rude comments about a newbie, I think she meant every word of it and was not the first time that she made snide comments. So what you are saying, it is okay for her to go on and on in insulting another newbie and if I or anyone else says sometime we are enticing arguments. Maybe it is not that the group backs each other up, it maybe that there is the same opinion on incredible rudeness and hatefulness. Some of the comments were actually written at the same time.
Why is it okay for Tami to come in stirring? I actually think she was the one who kept coming in and kept digging and stirring. To me it seems like you are defending her, not on the merrits but just because some people that you call "the usual suspects" and who you seem to have problem with said something.
I am kind of tired of these guilt by association attacks.
