What happened to Snidey Spidey?

What is also sad is that the newbies don't just "happen to come into a forum and start up trouble" They learn it. They watch, see how others behave and mimic the behaviour of others. (I know, I've done it myself and retreated very quickly and regretted it! But I was copying others)

That's were we disagree!! They are not children who see the adults doing something wrong and just copy it. I don't think they need any role models so to speak.

I didn't read Tamis comments as offensive, I don't think it was her intention to offend, perhaps thoughtless? Why wasn't that just ignored? Why was a response needed? Do you see what I am trying to get at? Theres a stalemate here. No-one is ever going to agree, but to entice arguments isn't going to solve the problems. Why does the group, need to back each other up? Why do certain persons, keep coming in stirring? Why can't they have their say and leave it? If SS felt the need, he could've told Tami to pull her head in.

You know, you are going out of your way in defending Tami. She made extremely rude comments about a newbie, I think she meant every word of it and was not the first time that she made snide comments. So what you are saying, it is okay for her to go on and on in insulting another newbie and if I or anyone else says sometime we are enticing arguments. Maybe it is not that the group backs each other up, it maybe that there is the same opinion on incredible rudeness and hatefulness. Some of the comments were actually written at the same time.

Why is it okay for Tami to come in stirring? I actually think she was the one who kept coming in and kept digging and stirring. To me it seems like you are defending her, not on the merrits but just because some people that you call "the usual suspects" and who you seem to have problem with said something.

I am kind of tired of these guilt by association attacks.

Boy! I don't log in at night and look what I miss:D!

I also voiced an opinion that SS MIGHT be a troll or "split personality" of one of the regulars. I personally didn't realize there was such a negative connotation to that word. I belong to another forum and they have "Troll Tuesday" where one of the "regulars" takes on a split personality and posts silly comments. Everyone else tries to guess who it is.

I wish there was a way for each of us to read our posts through the eyes of another. We can all come off cranky and "witchy" to someone else but that may not have been the intent of the post.

I apologize if I offended SS by my comments. That was not my intention. I was simply voicing an opinion. I guess the old adage about opinions is correct:eek:!

Carrie - I think things got witchy because after it was politely pointed out that most of us felt Snidey to be sincere and not a T-word, and Snidey himself posted, there were still more assertions by one poster that she still thought he was a troll. No reason was given except a "gut feeling". If the poster had come back and said that she didn't realize her post would be taken offensively or that the newbie may have been hurt by her comments on a thread that was simply a shout out to him, there wouldn't have been a problem. Even one of the other ladies came back and said she read his posts again and didn't find anything offensive and took back her earlier opinion that he might have been a troll. Your second post was very much in that spirit. :)

p.s. A Troll is not a good thing here. Especially when you are a newbie.

Wine and chocolate - count me in!!!! I've been putting in 10 hour work days almost every day this week and I need a break!!!

Yea, I want some of that, too.

Now you guys got me thinking about chocolate. And there's not a bite of the stuff in the house. How dare you;).

I read that post Michele and was really trying to ignore it :p

Catherine, I'm a new person for having put chocolate in my oatmeal. My entire outlook on life is sunnier this morning. :D

ETA that I deleted a comment to avoid another war -- lol!

ETA again I was just saying that maybe the world would be a better place if we all just put chocolate in our oatmeal. :D

If I spread chocolate frosting on an oatmeal cookie, is that the same thing?

Well, it's not QUITE the same -- all that sugar and butter -- but I'm sure it will bring joy to your life in much the same way. :p :D

ETA - Sparrow, I love your sig line! Cardio Coach Volume 8, challenge 2 -- the trek from hell (or to hell -- lol!!).

Your chocolate oatmeal post totally cracked me up, Miss Lee! You are a firecracker!!!!

Too bad I am not much into chocolate, hmmmh, maybe that explains my crankiness :p I LOVE licorice but I don't think licorice and oatmeal would be good.

Sparrow, have you tried Nutella chocolate spread. Yummy!!! Not healthy but oh so good!

Nutella is soooo good! I don't eat it much anymore but when I was a teenager I'd slather it on pretty much anything that would stand still long enough for me to find a knife! :D

That's funny, Sparrow! Every time I buy it DS grabs it, hides and spoons it out of the jar  Unless I sneak it in the house and hide it, I don't get to eat it much :p
