Question #2- What should you consume in a day I am trying to eat very healthy and it seems I am not sure about carbs protein fat transfat etc... Is there a site someone could direct me to for healthy eating I have a salad almost daily, Lean cuisine for either lunch or dinner (we grill a lot so mostly lunch and I have Jennie o or Healthy choice lunchmeasts on whole wheat bread. My BIG problem since I quit drinking Coca Cola now I want to eat every sweet I see. Anyone have any tips on satisfying the sweet tooth. Within my family no one exercises or tries any kind of healthy eating so I don't even know where to start I am not a breakfast eater I never have been since high school. I tried Kashi Cereal and it seems to give me a lot of gas is that anyone else's problem. Special K and Oat Bran I use 2% milk. Fruit I have all kinds of fruit cut up in my fridge and I have been trying to reach for a piece or 2 here and there but it just doesn't do it. And all I have drank since Jan 1st is water. I workout every day lost 10lbs now I want to maintain I am starting a rotation that was posted on this site I beleive it was 2004 for lower half pear shaped women I am going to try that for 8 weeks and see if I can lose my bottom it is so flappy. Everything else has come along nicely.

Does anyone keep a food journal does that seem to help if you have to account for everything? Can you recommend a website to print one.

hi Beth!

Just two small comments. I have a wicked sweet tooth and in the last few weeks have tried to tame it. For the first week or two I felt as if it were physically in need of sugar but honestly that has passed. So you may just want to go cold turkey through the sweets cravings and see what happens. Also, Kashi bothers my stomach terribly, as does soy. Plain old bran flakes with a banana works for me instead, as do steel cut oats, which I just recently tried thanks to Catheites. The oats are great!

HTH and someone with more knowledge can help you more.

I've been logging my food in a bank account register. I just took one out of a box of checks. I've been using it to keep track of weight watchers points but you can do the same thing to track calories. Just put your calorie goal on the balance side and subtract for everything you eat.

I have a yogurt. It has a lot of protein and fills you up and no fat. I keep a food journal called "I Will Lose Weight This time Diet Journal". It has a lot of healthy tips and lists nutritional information for over 1,000 food items. It lists the calories, fat grams, protein grams, carbs and fiber. Also has space for exercise and fitness. Keeps track of your daily servings of meat, fruit, vegs, grains, meats, milk and dairy and oils and sweets. It also has how many servings you should have from each food group for each calories level and a chart to graph your weight loss. I got it at Barnes & Noble. Also, a good website is fitwatch.com. It gives a much better breakdown of everything plus all vitamins and minerals.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Question # 2 makes my brain hurt--LOL! but I'll try and tackle the first question.

I almost always need a late evening snack--I can't go to bed without one.
I keep it small and try to switch it up a lot. Here's a list of the different things I enjoy:

- a slice of ww toast with peanut butter or sprinkled with cinnamon
- a piece of fresh fruit, sometimes dipped in dk chocolate
- a ff/sf yogurt
- lf cheese and a couple of ww crackers
- lf cheese with a small piece of fruit

Well, you get the idea. I think variety is really important to ward off boredom.

Michele:)
