What do you pay per month for your cell phone?

I pay $85 for a smartphone w/internet, email capabilities. I really haven't used this capability and want to pay less per month for my cell phone. What do people pay per month for their cell phones? Which cell phone do you have? Do you like it?

$30 a month from straighttalk.com, got it from walmart. Got the cheap $29 phone. It has buttons on it and goes ringee-dingy. That's all I need. And it works on the verizon network so it's way better than my metro pcs phone.

I go through Verizon. I have an LG3. It has email, FB, all the capabilities that I want. I pay around $100.00 to $120.00 a month.

$56 dollars a month.
450 minutes a month
250 texts a month
Chocolate touch samsung phone
I never use all the minutes or all the texts.
No online access.
I really wanted an Iphone but I didn't want to commit to a $100 bill a month.

Family plan...

My phone is pretty basic -- it lives in the bottom of my purse and I use it rarely (no texting, email, etc.), so I pay very little.

You can get an individual plan, talk-only, with 450 anytime minutes for under $40 per month (excluding whatever taxes they add to it) from Verizon Wireless. I've been eligible to upgrade my phone for years, but who needs the aggravation of learning to use a new one?

If you're happy with your carrier (good coverage, etc.), see what kind of deal they can make for you. They are usually willing to help you out if you talk to them because they don't want to lose a customer. (Switching is so much easier, now that you can port your number to any carrier!)

After all taxes and surcharges, I pay about $78 total a month for me and my DH's phones. We are with T-Mobile and have Sony Ericsson TM-506 flip phones. We have unlimited nights and weekends and unlimited calls between us and I think any T-Mobile customer. We share 700 minutes (which we rarely use) and I have texting and e-mail on mine. I did have internet on both of our phones which was like an extra $20 or something, but I have an iphone through work and I use that for internet stuff. When our contracts run out though, I'm looking for a better deal with someone else. I will say though that I have had excellent customer service experiences with T-mobile. We've had a few issues with DH losing phones and other stuff and they have always been great to deal with.

Hmm... after reading everyone else's info. I guess I am doing pretty good for two phones.

After taxes, my bill is $65/mo with Verizon. This is for a basic 450 min plan (unlimited nights & weekends). I never go over my minutes so this plan is perfect for me. Texting is another story; I pay extra for text messages since I'm constantly using it (the $5 includes 500 texts msg's out-of-network and unlimited texts between Verizon customers) and $5 for Internet. I have the Samsung Intensity and I love it!

Mine hardly gets used too. My husband just recently taught me how to text after months of making fun of me and the fact that I was cell phone impaired. I never even knew how to do that. I never understood the reason for texting, . .when you can just call people, esp with caller id.
When I was out jogging I got hit by an elderly woman and I was upset that I didn't have my cell phone on me. I would have reported her. I was hoping to get the iphone when my plan ran out so that I could have a cell phone and my mp3 player in one just in case but after all my research I found out that if I got an iphone it would have cost me $2000 for 2 years not including the cost of the phone. It was not worth it so I just run with my cell phone and my ipod.

DH and I are with Verizon on share plan that allows us 700 minutes shared, yada yada, and unlimited texting (we pay $10/month per phone extra for this I think). We have internet capabilities which we do not have a plan for so it's extra if we use it. We both have LG envy2 phones which are great texting phones. We pay between $100 and $120 every month but I think we are also getting a small discount because of who DH works for. I guess they have a big corporate account so employees get discounts on their personal accounts?? I dunno...something like that! LOL

Kathryn, funny thing you should tell me to call and talk to customer service. It would have cost me $75 to get out of my contract early (but in the end, it still would have saved me $) but because I asked to talk directly to them, they waived the fee. They said, "we want to keep you as a customer"...thanks for the advice!

Revol

I have Revol & use a Motorola Q4 Evoke phone - $40.00 a month for unlimited everything excluding international calls and including mobile web. Darned good deal!

I am baffled at how much people will pay for cell service. I see so many young people with iPhones.....I'm thinking I may put myself up for adoption to some rich parents so I can play too.

I nearly canceled my AT&T plan but they put me through to the people that try to save accounts and I got a nice deal.....which isn't as nice after the federal government and New York state add their multitude of taxes.

I have a Tracfone. I pay $99 a YEAR (so about $8 a month), and I never use up all the minutes (they roll over). I still have like 2000 or so. I really despise talking on the phone in general, so only use it for emergencies, travel, stuff like that...not yakkin' for the fun of it.

It gets very good reception.

I use a Virgin Mobile pay as you go phone. Phone cost about $50, and I just add minutes. It probably comes out to about $10 a month because I rarely use my cell phone unless I'm traveling.

I think we pay about $125 for both hubby and me. I have an Iphone and he has a regular phone. I think pre-Iphone, we paid about $80. I love me IPhone so much, it is totally worth the extra $$.

I only use mine for getting in touch when I'm out of the house or emergency. Sometimes call, sometimes text. No chit-chat, no e-mail, no internet. I have AT&T pre-paid and pay $25/3 months. I get $0.25/minute or $0.20/text. I have always have extras minutes/text after 3 months.

DH and I both have iPhones, so for both of our iPhones, unlimited data, unlimited texting and 450 talk minutes with rollover (which will never use in a million years) it's $146 a month. Considering how much we use them, it's a pretty good deal.

And Beavs, I'll totally adopt you.

I have to admit I hate it when I'm out shopping and people are just chatting on the phone when they are paying for things. I think it is so rude not to give people their attention.

By the way Gayle, . .good grief that is by far the cheapest plan on the earth. I worry about reception when I'm hiking in the mountains or mountain biking verizon has been the only one that has not let me down in emergencies.

DH and I have iPhones, too, and we have the same plan Evily has. Honestly, while I got along in life just fine without the iPhone, now that I've had it for a year I simply couldn't live without it! They come in handy for us for a multitude of reasons, one being that DH has to travel to Europe quite frequently and we're able to call each other with the iPhone! The other thing I love is the ability to sync the phone to my Mac computers. And don't forget the apps! Before you know it you'll be able to open your dang garage door with your phone -- LOL!!!

Oh, and I'd be happy to share custody of Beavs! :D
