What are you thankful for?

I have so much to be thankful for that I could write a novel. I'm truly blessed :) To all celebrating, enjoy the holiday with your families & loved ones. Happy Thanksgiving!

I am thankful that in 31 years of a wonderful marriage to the most amazing man, we have managed to be invited out every single year for Thanksgiving

That's right! I have never ever prepared Thanksgiving dinner.

Initially between my family and his, there was this alternating thing going on, now we really don't have any immediate family (no kidlings either) so friends and their families take pity on us and invite us to join them.

Last year we ate 3 dinners, this year alas we are only down to 2 invites :(

I am grateful for all of you who get up early and do your Thanksgiving thing.

Enjoy enjoy!

Debbie, I have never cooked dinner either! My wonderful sister-in-law cooks every year! 22 years and counting!

I am thankful for family and friends, too. My passion is nature and I am thankful I have been able to build a house on the edge of a large wilderness mounatin area and live in a wonderous (a word?) world, but only a short drive away are cities, family and friends.

One night in October, I heard my 24 year old son in the bathroom. I went in to check on him and found out that he was burning up with a fever of 106. He spent the next two weeks in the hospital and he is still going through more tests to make sure that he is ok.

We spent 20 hours in the er while they tried to stabilize him. The er doc said that he almost died. I don't think I have ever prayed so hard or been to afraid!

So, I am thankful that we all seem to be healthy, have a roof over our heads and food on our plates.

Bless your heart and your family! Sooo glad to hear your family is all together to celebrate this most wonderful day!!

I am sooo thankful for my wonderful son. After suffering from chronic health issues for much of the precious 8 years of his life, he is healthy this year!! Thank you, Jesus!

I am thankful for all of the wonderful and amazing people in my life past, present and future... Cathletes get special mention here of course!

Soooo many blessings especially if we choose to look at what we have and not focus on what we don't.

Much love and blessings for a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I am thankful for:

1. My Mom- best Mom in the world. Takes care of me in so many ways, especially my best friend.

2. My friends in my book club, they laugh at my jokes, and tell me when they aren't actually funny in a gentle kind manner.:p

3. I am grateful for my Dad because in spite of myself he loves me a lot.

4. I am especially thankful for my brother, he can be a pain, but we are so lucky that he is as functional, compassionate, and capable as he is.

5. I am thankful for my Kitty Maria, she is a rescue, we have had her for over 5 years now. She gives me kitty kisses.

6. I am thankful for the roof over my head, graciously provided to me in these difficult economic times, by my parents. In return, I am able to provide all the care that they might need (Mama has arthritis, I do the cooking, shopping, cleaning, and all the lifting.) I live in a very safe neighborhood, with wild turkeys, wood peckers, wild blue egrits, redhawks, coyotes, and owls. The hills challenge me everyday.

7. I am thankful for my musical instruments, my piano (7 ft. concert grand, one of four in existence, Elton John owns one of them.) , my fiddle, my old guitar and all my years of musical experience.

8. I am thankful for my education, no matter what, they can't take that away from me.

9. I am thankful that my car runs! She needs some TLC but, she still goes, even after 13 years of faithful service.

10. I am incredibly thankful for my internet friends, here and on Spark, they understand my struggle and offer a sympathetic ear. I don't feel so alone.

11. I am thankful for my ipod, my Cathe, my yoga, my meditation mp3s, my podcasts (IOWL, The Reasonable Diet, The Two Gomers Run for Their Lives).

12. The thing I am most grateful for, is that in spite of everything (living at home with my folks, business not going well, single and not anticipating anything ever changing on that front, and still needing to lose another 60 pounds.) I have not given in to depression. I have not given up yet. There is still some fight left in the old girl <<points to self>>

So, ultimately, I guess the big thing is, my little light may not be shining, but its not out just yet.

I am thankful for so many things in my personal life (husband, children, health)....but since this is the Cathe forums... I would just like to say...

that I am truly thankful for the Cathe workouts which, I believe, are superior to most other dvd workouts out there. I am thankful for the skill, time, energy, and vision that has been given to Cathe to serve all of us who desire to be fit in this manner. She has given her best to this medium and I appreciate and acknowledge this. I also acknowledge that this is not an easy endeavor for any person and most certainly has come at a cost to her. For nothing done well is done without difficulty, trouble, anguish and unseen toil, as well as sorrow.

This year, I am thankful for the prayers I am receiving from many here. In addition, I am thankful for my severance package that I have received since July. My health, my cats, my family and my friends (not in the correct order here). Thankful for the blessings I have received and for this time to learn what is truly important. GOD is good.

Pam,
I'm so jealous. I actually get very emotional just smelling the fall crisp air. I love nature and every picture in my home is of something nature. My absolute most favorite place that had me in tears was Scotland. Enjoy your view every day as I'm sure you do.

Great thread

Yes, indeed I could write a book of all that I am truly thankful for.

Thankful for the most amazing husband & son ever!!

Thankful for all of YOU here at the forum..although I do not post a lot I read the posts a lot and right here is an incredible community of honest & strong people!!

Thankful for our mentor & friend Cathe. You are so kind & sweet & strong. You always see the cup half full. Your work ethic is the best and your social interaction is valued. ((HUGS))

Thankful for every single trial/blessing/good/bad in my life. Without which there would be no change, no growth, no reason to move forward.

Thankful for learning empathy, which continues to teach and challenge me on a daily basis.

Thankful for those wonderful deep belly laughs!! We need them daily & I love them. My husband supplies them a lot!! He is the happiest person I have ever known.

Hi Fitatfifty--I do love every moment up here. I feel very fortunate to share this area with the creatures for whom this is their natural home. The house is a passive solar, strawbale house, with lots of windows and every room has a door to the outside (well not bathroom!), so almost like being outside all the time. No curtains are needed as human neighbors are 1/4 mile away, so last view at night is the trees and stars and sunrises in the morning. Come visit if you are in Colorado. I love to share the paradise with people who also like being in nature.

Scotland is on my short list to visit someday. The pictures and stories of Scotland looks it is wonderful place. A lot of unspoiled places.

Pam, that's so cool. Thanks for the invite. How kind of you. But I live too far away. Surrounded by all that beauty. I did a quick search on your type of home. I did not even know about these kind of homes. They look awesome. Imagine looking out any window at any time of the day or night and seeing stars or a bright warm sun. overlooking the crevice of a ravine or deep into a valley WOW!!! Nature has a way of quieting us and commanding us to stop and look & smell. I live in a suburban neighborhood but even when I walk my dog I get to go to some wooded areas and it's like stepping into another world. Enjoy your Thanksgiving

Fitatfifty--I totally agreed it is possible to find and enjoy nature almost any place you are at. I am glad you take the time to enjoy it! Happy Turkey Weekend to you!
