What are you doing to prepare for the Hard Core Series?

I have been in such a quandry as to how to prepare for the new videos that I've been jumping around here and there. Does anyone have a 'plan' or rotation they're following and would be willing to share?

Well, I'm currently online, alternating responding to work e-mail, instead of working out. I guess this is a fairly unsatisfactory way of preparing for HardCore ... Thank you for the reminder - HardCore will be on its way to us soon!

Right now I am in the Body Blast rotation, and remaining faithful to it. I am also trying to follow better eating habits, although it is going to be hard with Halloween coming up!
Oh, I am also doing alot of praying that Cathe doesn't let the "dark" side take over while she is filming!

Hi Gibbee! I don't know if my rotation is going to help you much. I'm doing P90X after leaving it for about 4 weeks. However, I still do Cathe's cardio using either IMAX2 or KPC. If you have P90X let me know & I can be more specific. Kathy:D

I usually work out hard but I started my preparation yesterday.I was so happy because the cathe update that I enjoyed absolutely my hi/low of MIC and the hi/low of SJP with the abs, planks and the stretch. When I have my post shower I was singing under the wather.
I want to add more interval training into my week routine to increase my cardio capacity with workouts as IMAX 1 and 2.I am going to do MIC once a week too.I am thinking about to start with more clean eating habits.I am thin but I think I do not see in my body the results of my hard daily workout because my sweet craving.

I think it was either Sept/04 or August 04's rotation that Cathe designed to prepare us for the HardCore series. You might want to review those, and get an idea of the intensity she's preparing us for.

Cheers,
Sandra

Well, I'm not that much of a rotation person, but I'm pushing myself to go that extra mile. Last weekend when I did IMAX2 I did the entire workout. This week I'm doing low intensity cardio but next week I'm doing high intensity so it will be MIC and Bodymax as well as Bootcamp.

I'm going to dig out the Pure Strength Series and MIC and do that next week and then the following week balance that with Muscle Endurance.

I'm using some of the kick/punch/crunch -leg/glutes pre-mixes and working on learning Step Blast so I'll be up-to-date on Cathe's new choreography.

Also, about a couple of weeks before she announces shipping, I may give all Cathe workouts a rest so when the Hardcore series arrives, my mind and body will be ready for the challenge.

I went back to my beloved S&H/Pyramid rotation. I just needed a good excuse, & preparing for Hardcore seemed good! LOL
Also I have been running, may Heaven help me. I hate it.
Mariángeles, I've been working on my clean eating too. That sweet tooth is a killer isn't it?

Ruth

:) :) :)

Yes, of course this sweet tooth is horrible.I work so hard and I would like to see the results in my body, you know, more definition in my abs etc, but my eating habits makes this impossible.A little fat in my abs hide all my great workout. It is so difficult to resist the temptation when you are hangry in the morning and you go to a supermarket to buy somethig to eat in your breakfast break . The chocolate, the haggen dazs strawberry cheesecase and the camanber cheese are my ruin.Anyway I love to workout with cathe.I have bought proteins to makes shakes with strawberry flavour and drink them in my breakfast time . I hope they will help me.

RE: S&H/Pyramid Rotation?

Hi Ruth,
Would you mind sharing how you use S&H and the Pyramids in a rotation? Thanks!
Angela

P.S. I'm focusing on circuit and cardio training right now(circuit training just shoots my heart rate way up until I adjust to it) and then I want to switch to more of a stength/cardio rotation in preparation of the Hard core series with a circuit type workout thrown in there every now and then. I can't even remember...is there going to be a circuit type workout in the Hardcore series?!:7 :p

RE: What are you doing to prepare for the Hard Core Ser...

I just started my second P90X rotation this morning. I should finish this rotation at the end of January and figure that will be about the time the Hardcore series will be in my hands. Of course if they come earlier (crossing fingers) I will have to cut my rotation short because I cannot wait to start the Hardcore series.

RE: What are you doing to prepare for the Hard Core Ser...

I've been alternating between Slow and Heavy and Pyramid work and steadily increasing my weight. I should probably also throw some muscle endurance in there but I have gotten the best results with heavier weights etc. that I haven't gone to endurance type workouts in a while. I have been doing alot of intense cardio in preparation.. Interval training, and circuits such as HSTA and Gauntlet and of course my beloved Step and to some extent cardio kickboxing.

I have been doing a rotation combining Slow & Heavy Legs, back & biceps with PS CST, and some Bowflex moves at the start of the week and then the end of the week I do Supersets Upper blast and lower Blasts. I have tried to incorporate really intense cardio segments in here as well. This has given great results and I think will help with the new workouts. I change this around once in awhile and do S&H for all upper work. It is time consuming that way though. I am thinking on doing PS lower next week for a change. I have been able to increase my weights some though with what I have been doing.

RE: S&H/Pyramid Rotation?

Hi Angela,

Nothing fancy. I need to do a lot of cardio right now so I do S&H once each with the slow part on the positive, as originally done. I do them Tu, Th & Sat or Sun because I'm off on Th & can do a cardio workout also, & on Sat or Sun same thing. So I'm doing cardio Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Sat or Sunday. I'll do that for 3 weeks. Then 3 weeks the same but with the emphasis on the negative in S&H. Then 3 weeks of Pyramid plus one full body workout...usually Power Hour...same schedule. Then 3 weeks of S&H positive 1 week, Pyramid + PH 2nd week, S&H negative 3rd week. Which is 12 weeks.

The last time I did this rotation I got awesome results & added a lot of strength. Which I figure I'm going to need for HARDCORE! Especially if Miss Cathe & her Wonder Crew need to rest between workouts!!!

Ruth;-)

p.s. Edited to add...not sure if there's a circuit workout or not. Unfortunately, I hate them. I keep trying to make myself like them but I just don't.

Hi Mariángeles,

I have so much trouble with sweets...mostly chocolate. Let me know if the shakes make a difference...I've been thinking about that myself. Anyway, I'm going to step up my efforts to clean up my diet because on holiday I GAINED 4 LBS.!!! Yikes! x(

I am SO annoyed with myself! And I ran every day. Sigh.

RE: What are you doing to prepare for the Hard Core Ser...

Conni,

Would you mind posting the Body Blast Rotation or let me know where I can find it? I've finally got all the the Body Blast workouts!

Thank you, :)

I don't really follow rotations, and I never have a plan unless I can't get away with not having one. LOL!! Seriously though ... I'm not doing anything to "prepare" for them. I will simply do them, one by one, once I have them, and then I will know which ones I like, which ones I love, which ones I might use only occasionally, and which ones will become part of the favorites I reach for time and time again!! Gee, at this point, I'm just thrilled they're being filmed!! LOL!!

Carol
:)

Yup doing the same thing as Carol is doing. I just can't seem to follow a rotation. I just make sure that I hit each muscle 2 times a week and try and get 3 to 5 cardio's a week. I still don't even know what I'll be doing that day until I go through the dvd and just pick out what I want to do. I gotta agree with you Carol that Cathe is filming again and hope she keeps on filming until were old ladies with muscle and a six pack, LOL.
