What a night!

OMG! I cringed just from reading the story. I hate bugs, including scorpions. Glad to hear you're ok tho..
One question: How did it get up on your ceiling fan?!

The idea is to die young as late as possible.

Ugh. Glad you're o.k. This reminded me of my childhood (growing up in the boonies of north Texas). We had all the nasty creepy crawly bugs and snakes, plus some nasty mammals, too. *shiver* I did make it through my childhood just fine, though. One spider bite and it wasn't a black widow or anything that nasty (though we had those around). I loved growing up in the country, but there were some scary things out there. Then my senior year we moved to south Texas with the giant flying roaches. Those were the worst. I still have roach nightmares even though I live far from there now.

Also, one year we had some kind of cricket plague. They were everywhere. Covering walls and sidewalks at our elementary school. We had to walk outside to go to lunch and we'd be crunching crickets under our feet all the way. Definitely did something to your appetite.

I remember a cricket plague here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area probably 10-15 years ago. It was so gross. They were all over the grocery store parking lots and they would get squished and the stores would have to hose down the entrances and it smelled so bad. At night they would swarm the parking lot lights. It was so creepy.

Sabine, glad you're okay, but I have to say that getting stung by a scorpion is nothing new in our household... unfortunately!

We live in the woods of north Georgia, and we've all been stung multiple times, in different situations. I would say finding a scorpion in the bed is the worst, but that too has happened to us.

Fortunately the stings are not harmful, just painful. :)
