Were you shaken and stirred this a.m.?

I was woken up around 4:30 by...and earthquake tremor! Here in the midst of the Illinois corn and soy fields!

That was a strange experience: I felt like it must be what a mild epileptic seizure feels like, but the windows were rattling, so I knew it wasn't just me!

The cats' reactions ranged from freaked out (Pete and Rascal), to concerned (Simon) to unaware (Bobsie).

Anybody else in a normally 'quake-free zone who got shaken and stirred?

My dog did not even get up, until I did, and then she was just happy because she got to go outside when I went out to look around.

I wasn't woken up by an earthquake but here in Texas we had some bad storms last night and my son kept running into our room because of all the loud thunder and lightening. Then my daughter was walking in her sleep talking about tarantulas so it was a rough night here too.

I'm in middle Indiana, and it woke us up -- AND, just now, I think I felt an aftershock!

My "baby" cat (she's 4) bolted and was very freaked out. My initial thoughts were that it was storming or that someone was climbing in my bathroom window!

Crazy stuff!

I'm in CA - our local news station was showing a clip from an Illinois station showing the "bouncing" weather clip.

For here it is normal and 4.5 would barely wake us up.

Quite an unusual feeling huh? Ya think you're going crazy cuz you can't get your bearings.

Hope there wasn't too much damage. Out here things are a bit more "beefed" up for the tremors. In fact, the news two days ago was saying we'll have a huge one, I think they were saying in the 7's, within 30 years.

Been hearing those types of predictions since I was a kid though. And the one we had in '89 during the World Series was a bit freaky, even for me.
