We're In This Together **JUNE**

Hello Friends.
Home today until I get Chinese for lunch. Plan to walk in the AM and workout later today.
Yesterday at the meeting, my blog gained exposure. Although, no one at the meeting even acknowledged on how bad the economy truly is here in MI. Yes, Natty. People show true colours in the worst way sometimes. The facilitator was stunned that a company was asked me to apply for a position via twitter conversation.
Natty-Understand and agree with your thoughts on OD. I rarely post out on it. With your cramping, please do the extended stretch. Squating at 25 pds in cycle 2 is heavy and impressive so be careful. Glad you lightened up. Stretch more only if your leg muscles are warm. Love Old Navy. Great store. Congrats on the new suit.

OMG, a community publisher whom is a docter has requested to follow me on Twitter because my blog hits it. Grateful and shocked.

Afternoon ladies!

Today was Afterburn...again!:D Oh yeah, I totally can't wait for CrossFire! I was going to do Intensity today. Even though I was fine the last time I did it on the 4 inch I'm a wee bit nervous about step aerobics these days. I think I'll just wait a month or two before attempting them again. I so love AS, I may try it one more time in the future on a 4 inch step after I've acquired some minimalist, or at least lightweight, shoes. Low impact step like with AT or the bonus part of CSS I can do just fine barefoot. I can even do some of the box jumps like in Circuit Blast and LBB and Drill Max with no problem. I may try to get something for those high impact, complex step workouts, though.

Jen- that's so exciting people are finding you on twitter with your blog! It's amazing this technology and how it gets people out there networking. I'm totally out of the loop on that stuff. Twitter, Linkedin, blogs...I can barely handle facebook! I really hope something solid comes out of this for you!
Oh and you asked about VF and the Horizontal Conditioning dvds. VF stands for Videofitness.com and I go on there almost as often as I come on here. As far as HC, I just bought Volumes 2 and 4. It's all planks and core work! I'm sure Natty would not be too crazy about them!! Here are the links if you're interested:
Total Fitness DVDs - Your Total Source for Fitness
Horizontal Conditioning - Video Fitness Forum

Natty- Whoo hoo! How are those legs feeling? You sound just like me the first time I did that disc!! I can't remember ever having worse DOMS than with that one! Well, maybe the first time I did Butts and Guts...although now I can do that one and barely feel sore the next day!:p It's so much fun having strong leg muscles from Cathe's workouts. I can totally feel it when I go upstairs now. I can feel myself using the hamstring and glute muscle when I go up a set of stairs, like I can really feel myself engage them. It's hard to describe but I think before when I went upstairs I'd use my quads and more pressure was put on my knees...now when I engage the posterior chain muscles I feel a lot less stress in my joints. Yay muscles!
Oh lordy, I totally agree about people on OD who are all cranky pants. I don't get why people feel the need to be inflammatory and combative without adding to the discussion. Most of the time it's totally unnecessary and out of left field. It's one thing to disagree and add to the discussion but you can tell by the way some folks write they are just being snarky. VF gets like that quite often. Sometimes it'll go in waves...like recently it's been sort of unpleasant on a lot of threads so that's when I take a break for a few days.

Sarah- that dinner from your kids sounds soooo amazing and sweet! I love that tradition! That is something totally special you guys will all remember and think fondly on when they grow up! Body Max 2 on the 8 inch...wow!

Have a great day ladies!

Jen - That is so exciting. I was told at one point to start twitter for my business but never did. Because I just dont know that many people.

I read those HC conditioning links and it looks good. But I have my heart set on either high step stuff or KB stuff.

My husband actually saw me exercise this weekend and asked why I was using the stool too. I replied because I need more height, and he was all shocked that apparently I haven't purchased everything everything that I wanted still.

I typing very lightly right know for you Nat, trying to imagine how gingerly you must be walking and sitting down. I do believe that one also made me sore for days.

My dinner was delicious. My husband suprised me with a new purse. I didn't see that coming at all. I figured just going to dinner and clothes shopping was my gift. I did need a new purse the strap is breaking on mine after only 6 months (it was a really inexpensive purse).

Nat - I also really liked your conclusion letter you posted on the OD regarding neg. attitudes.

Today I was sure if I should lift, because there is some lifting in BM2. I ended up doing cyclemax again. I really do like that one.

Sarah

Ok, I'm all for DOMS, but this is just crazy!!! Really, I can't walk. My quads are the sorest they've ever been in my life. Bella tried to sit on my lap today, and I almost cried. It's that bad. Hopefully I will get out and walk tomorrow and let out some of the tension. I was going to today, but crappy weather and a rough night (PMS insomnia) made my home look extra cozy :).

BTW, do you guys know about Sea Monkey's? Mark purchased them from Toys R Us, claiming they were really popular way back when he was a little tot. I guess I was deprived and isolated . Anyway, I'm waiting for the little guys to hatch. Apparently they can live for up to 2 years and grow up to 3/4inch. All the food and stuff for them have to be ordered on-line, and ha ha guess what? Shipping is DOUBLE to Canada. Of course. Might as well live in Siberia .

BB tomorrow to write responses! Have a good night :)

Drink lots of water Natty! Also I've read that pomegranate juice and tart cherry juice can help with DOMS...and don't be afraid to take a little Advil!

Hello Friends.
My latest post on my blog is all about Twitter. Since a company asked to apply based on a tweet I made, it is timely. Plus, it is exciting to build connections whom will help me and/or my readers.
With Twitter, some keywords or hashtage will show up even with businesses to create your followers.
Today-No walk due to a chill in the air and dark heavy clouds. But, I did Low Impact Challenge but sat out during the instruction of the combo with the squat thrusts and push ups. But, did it all later on. Hoping to do AT or TB tomorrow.

Colleen-Thank for the information on that site. If anyone put down Cathe there, which you told me they do, it would be hard not to say something. Her track record speaks for itself. planks and core-work are hard, two reasons to curse the TV.

Sarah-Your DH bought you a purse?? Cool. Very rare to see a guy in the handbag section of a store. Love my high step although my The Firm one was a wooden stool. Hardly ever use Cycle Max. I really need to do that.

Natty-Sea Monkeys? Yes, I remember them too from my childhood. You could buy them from the back of comic books. I would think you could feed them normal fish food. You have been pushing yourself really hard with STS. It's good that you are listening to your body and slowing down a bit. Make sure you are getting enough calories as well as fluids.

Have a Great Night.

JT

Natty-

Just received a rejection letter from the business,at first bummed, that asked me to apply via Twitter. The position itself would have been what I did previously so no challenge for me although the company is great. I do business with them and will continue. They take good care of me.

Good morning :)

Yesterday was D14 (back & bi's). I really love the format of M2. SO much more cleaner and organized. I feel a bit sore today, right where I should be :D.

Hey, I was thinking of submitting a Success Story so I can get a $100 gift certificate for a Cathe Vest :D. I already submitted a recipe, and will submit another shortly if the first one does not get picked for the spotlight. Perhaps after M2 I can dress up nicely, and have Mark take some pics . I hate taking pics though, I always hide or put my hand in front of my face. Unless it's with Bella, I avoid pics and video's at all cost .

As far as the threads being unpleasant, I'm not a fan of drama. People need to get a life, seriously. Go out, take a walk, smell the fresh air, look at the flowers, buy yourself some shoes, whatever. Geeze

Colleen

I'm very impressed you always go back to Afterburn. It's not for the faint of heart...and you love it to boot! It might not be my fav, but I'll be very honest and say Cathe really outdid herself by making a Low Impact Series that has the intensity of high impact. If you complete Afterburn using the correct weights, do all those plank exercises, dixie cups lunges, and still complain it's not "hard enough", then you are fit enough to climb Mt.Everest .
I'm sorry you were getting into the groove w/step and had to back away :(. I think I've said this before, when I'm learning choreo for a step routine, my knee's always bother me. Rhythmic Step aggravated my right knee :(. Once I get familiar with the moves, I do them much more smoothly and my knee pain lessens.
Jen
I'm sorry to hear about your rejection letter :(. It's good that you are continuing to do business with that company.
It's so cool you are on Twitter, Facebook, blogging, ect. You remind me of my aunt. She is not very "tech savvy", but she loves to be connected through her Blackberry. She had a FB account long before I had one.
Sarah
I'm glad to see your b-day went well. A new purse from DH is always welcomed ;).
You know what, now that you mentioned your DH watching you exercise, I should have mine come watch just so he could see that I work with the bare minimum. He thinks I have all this stuff . I told him I need higher weights for squatting/lunging, and he just looked at me as if to say "ya right!". He has no clue as to what I do behind closed doors. I'm not bench pressing 3 lbs over here!

Have a great day ladies :)

Hello Friends.
Today, I got an offer to work on a project which I will do that starts next week. It could turn into a job so I will be an intern for awhile.
At the meeting from people with the program, some feel they are TOO good for their britches. With my update, it was "sounds interesting." With the readership up, I believe and hope someone is encouraged by it. Will be posting about Pinterest next.
Went to a true Mexican restaurant today and had tostados. Very good.
My workout should be Athlectic Training or Turbo Barre tonight.

Natty-Yes, submit your story. I agree that cycle 2 is cleaner. It does appear some changes were made between the two cycles.

I'm replying via my phone for the first time. The kids are taking swim lessons right now and I'm finding it very nice to have something to do while I wait.

Jen - good job on getting to work on another project.

Nat - don't forget Epsom's salt bath is worth trying as well.

Okay the only thing I don't like about this is I like to be able to see what you guys posted in the middle of my writing. So I can remember what I would like to say.

Today was high reps. Good except, I fell extremely short on my biceps. I loaded the bar with 20 for the barbell curls and that was to much. I had to stop.

Sarah

Good morning :)

No workout for me yesterday, just some walking to let out the tension from my DOMS (which is still here today ). Bella and I went to Tim Horton's and of course I got an Ice Capp w/chocolate milk. Repair my muscles with a nice dose of milk & caffeine :D.

I've decided for the Summer to probably cut down my cardio to 2 days/week, so I will be doing 5 days of workouts instead of 6. The rest of the time will be walking. I don't want to over-train or get injured during these last 2 Mesocycles.

Today's w/o might be steady state or just walking w/Bella again.

Sarah
I conclude technology to be essential and evil. I think more of the latter. I remember a time when people actually had real conversations on the phone (I still call my closest family/friends, so I guess I'm stuck in the 1980's). But then the smart phone has been a savior, like keeping Bella content in a restaurant while we scarf down food :D.
Jen
LOL, I almost read your "word" incorrectly. I saw "b**ches" instead of "britches".
I love Mexican food! Hope you had a nice time.
Did you do AT or TB? Those 2 are my fav's from LIS :)

Have a great day ladies :)

**oh no, more drama in OD. Poor Janie. I think people are just far too melodramatic. Is it just me? You know what, I really like Tracy. Her attitude reminds me of many customers I used to deal with working in downtown Toronto, the vibe I get from her. Anyway, enough said. I hope Janie does not get offended cuz' I like her too :-(**

I've got to get going and do Cardio Supersets! I've spent way too long on the computer this morning but I wanted to say, yep, Natty...I agree. Poor Janie Joey! People are waaaay too serious and melodramatic! Yikes! BTW, I responded on that thread...couldn't help it. I hope people don't get all bent out of shape as I just wanted to point out the likelihood that Janie was just being light hearted in her original post and it seems that went over many people's heads! Gotta run! I'll be back later to write more!

Hello Friends.
Natty-You had the meaning of the "word" correct, reading my mind. Need to visit Tim's and get an Ice Capp. Maybe, today.
Sarah-Yes, that is one feature I don't like about smartphones. I try to post these on my regular pc's.
Colleen-Enjoy CS today. Glad I didn't post on that thread.

Last night was neither AT or TB but I walked instead. Nice weather and not too hot, that's this weekend. Hoping for it today to do TB. The recovery week goes by quick. My internship maybe paid since my friend's was.
Blogging one more time this week, my readership is up. I will post Friday only if serious economic events occurs.

Slimnastics anyone? I googled this since it's on my Lose It app. Its considered to be dance, aerobics and gymnastics OR anything that you exercise and lose weight. I think the LIS series is this.

I just came back from a nice 3 hour outing. Bella and I walked to the park where she met a cute little friend. They chased each other around and played in the sand. They even shared stickers [insert sweet face here]. She is a pure social butterfly and craves interaction and attention. I must be doin' something right ;). The little girl (her name is Maybee. Not sure of the spelling) was with her daddy. I knew from the moment I saw this dude, he was into fitness. Turns out he is a marathoner . We talked about all the fun and active things we like to do with the kids, including the new leisure center, the splash pad, swimming, skating, the beach, ect. It was nice to have that interaction with another adult :). It can get pretty lonely in my neck of the woods sometimes...

Colleen
Nice post ;).

Hope everyone is having a great day :)

Well, I did Cardio Supersets with the bonus step premix today. Since the kids are done with school I actually had time to do the cool down and stretch!:D Tomorrow will be STS disc 3 legs. The two Horizontal Conditioning dvds I bought arrived today so I'm stoked to try one those on Saturday!:p We shall see how it goes! I may wind up doing the modifier a lot. Folks on VF have been raving about these dvds but they are tough as it's a ton of plank work. We'll have to see how my wrists hold out!

Natty- that's so cute how Bella made a friend! It's so fun watching these kids grow up, develop personalities and start making friends. It took Dylan a little longer to be more social but Lydia was pretty much leading all the girl cousins by the time she was 2! Dylan can be a little more introverted like his mommy. He's got his little buddies now and is constantly asking to have sleep overs and such. I sometimes wish I could just freeze them at these ages and make it last it's so much fun. The teen years make me nervous!

Have a great day ladies! :)

Good morning :)

Yesterday's w/o was Low Impact Challenge. I truly love that one :).

I'm feeling pretty agitated waiting for my new dumbbell plate set to arrive. They were scheduled to be delivered Monday, and then of course UPS screwed up my address (like always! HATE THEM!!), and now I'm still waiting. I need them for my next STS disc 13 (chest, shoulder's, tri's) . Looks like the show might have to go on...

I'm going to Nature's Emporium today (a big health food store) to see if I can get coconut oil for a decent price. I saw the flyer and there's some good deals going on, so of course shopping is in order :p.

Colleen
Cathe responded to your post! I wonder if she reads the other posts in OD and what she thinks of them. I know one time she responded back to a thread about Afterburn when the LIS just came out. The woman was basically saying AB sucked because there was no dedicated "core" work. She said "what were they thinking?". Cathe then responded with class and put her in place :p.

Have a great day all :)

Oy Vay, I had my post already to go, then Bam, butterfingers. The whole thing got deleted. Then I ran out of time to redo it.

I got a bathing suit from Zappos. It was really excited to get it. It met all the qualifications: tankini (so I can use the bathroom more easily), underwire, soft cups, boyshorts (my hubby loves when I wear boyshorts). It was awful. Like to pigs fightin' under a blanket LOL. Oh well, I will try, try again.

Nat - I use coconut oil it my oatmeal and just love it. I hate the whole mail delivery system too. It used to be if it was mailed UPS or FedEX I would put down my physical address and USPS I would use my POBOX. Now I never know because FEDEX and UPS both deliver to my PO BOX. I have had so many things sent back. I never reorder either, I figure it wasn't meant to be mine. I hope your legs are feeling much better. And you will be ready to get DOMS all over again next week. So did your hubby sign up for the gym?

Colleen - I love CSS. Most of those workouts had to grow on me though. I excited to hear what you think of the horizontal conditioning. I smile everytime a read or write horizontal. Sorry my mind is in the gutter. Yippee for no more school. I really do like it when the kids are home, but am expecting that might change one of these years.

Jen - Ive never heard of slimnastics. I have been logging my food and exercise into My fitness Pal for the last 4 days. I'm liking it better this time. The last time I tried it, I compared it all the time to Cathe's nutrition software. This time I took the time to learn it better. I am eating to few carlories.

Yesterday was Cyclemax again : ). Today is 4DS Kickbox.

Sarah

Afternoon ladies!

This morning I was planning on doing disc 3 legs but I wasn't feeling well. :( I had terrible insomnia last night and couldn't fall asleep until after midnight, so I wound up getting just under 6 hours of sleep which isn't nearly enough for me. I had an upset stomach and just generally felt a little off. It continued through most of today...although I'm feeling a little bit better right now. I have a feeling Lydia might have brought a little virus home since she was saying this morning that her tummy was a little upset too. I'm so bummed! I especially hate it when my STS week gets messed up because I feel like I just have to get those STS discs in before the week is up to keep on track! I'm not sure if I'll be able to squeeze it in tonight or tomorrow either. I guess I'll just have to play it by ear.

I previewed the Horizontal Conditioning dvds and I'm excited to try them. They are pretty different from anything else I have. I'm not sure when I'm going to get to it though. I was planning on tomorrow but now I have to squeeze in that STS disc. Phooey! I wish I felt better! I just feel so blah right now!

I saw that Cathe responded to my post too! That always gives me such a thrill! lol I totally hope to meet her some day! :) I just read the funniest thing. I guess when STS first came out she did a master check in and the first disc she wrote her experience as she was doing it. It was so cute and hilarious. Someone on VF provided a link. You guys should read it if you haven't. I was giggling, I just loved it! http://cathe.com/forum/f104/sts-check-disc-one-258982/

Sarah- oh the bathing suit drama! No matter how fit I get I still hate wearing a swim suit! Oh well! At least I look decent in clothes!:p

Later girls!
