We're In This Together *~August~*

Hello Friends.
Tuesday-Thursday, I have meetings to attend. I was going to workout on Wednesday but not looking good. One is in Lansing.
Today for dinner, I made ground turkey spaghetti with Prego sauce, parm cheese and whole grain noodles. I had 5 timbits for lunch, 300 calories, so I had to eat decent for one meal.

Not much else to report. Happy to be done with STS.

Hello everyone :)

Today's w/o was Crossfire Low Impact Premix, which means mountain climber's & plank jacks [insert green throw-up Smiley dude here -- we need one of those]. You guys know how much I love em' :rolleyes:. Despite my hate, I did every single one to tempo, even the jack w/push-ups. I was a wonderful, sweaty mess.

Excited for Breaking Bad tonight :D

Have fun watching Breaking Bad tonight Natty! We'll have to work on getting Sarah and Jen hooked ;).

No workout today. Tomorrow I'm trying to decide between an HC workout or some crazy intense cardio. I'm feeling the need for some stress busting endorphins right about now! Of course, I have HC on my calendar so I feel like I should do it...I'll probably decide as I go to put the workout in the dvd player!

Monday was just a walk, yesterday was Crossfire. Today I am thinking about a walk again or maybe turbo barre.

My husband and I watched the first 2 Breaking Bad a couple of months ago, we liked it but havent gotten the rest yet.

I can't believe the kids go back to school in less than a month. :( :D

Hello everyone :)

Today I have my aunt over (the one who just went on a lovely Caribbean cruise). She brought over some pics, and I just died a little. Confirms two things: 1) I need a vacation 2) I'm jealous.

Would it be bad to say that I wanted to lose "5 vanity pounds" for an upcoming wedding & baby shower? I don't know if my body weight will budge though, and I'm not going through any drastic measures to lose that weight. I was thinking to try and count my calories, going to 1300/day. Jillian Michaels says that 1200-1300 cal is perfect for women trying to lose weight (from her show Daily Dose) and that as long as you continue to do strength training, you won't lose muscle mass. I would also like to see a little more definition in my legs, so perhaps that 5lbs will come off the bottom instead of my chest, which are probably as small as you can get.

I am forgoing split workouts for now, as I want to hit my LB and UB twice each/week. I also feel as though I should do a strict rotation of the same weight workouts each week for 1 month.

Here is my exercise plan for the next month:
1 upper body (PUB) LOL, I downloaded it. You enabler's kill me!
1 Lower body (plyo legs or LBB)
1 Total Body (Muscle Max)
2X Cardio (1 of those days will be hiit/tabata/intervals)
1 day of Yoga (I'm bringing it back)

What do you guys think? That's 5 days of workouts + 1 Yoga.

Your workouts are good. Mix it up like cardio, strength, yoga, rest, etc. Don't do anything the same two consecutive days.

Thanks Jen! Yes I know not to do two consecutive days of the same muscle groups (hello brutal DOMS). My days are never set in stone, so I can't say Mon is Muscle Max, Tues is LBB, ect. It's just a guide so I know what workouts I need to include during the week.

Natty, ever thought of getting certified? You know alot about fitness. Then, you can produce your own stuff.

What did you think of Breaking Bad last night Natty? I'm really starting to feel for Skyler. I was never a big fan of that character but man, that was intense! Jesse is still my favorite, though. I need to see some more screen time for my man!

Natty- that sounds like a great rotation idea! I love putting together fairly loose rotations like that where you can plug in a workout of choice but you have a category you know you want to tackle that day. Have you tried PUB yet? I always get crazy bicep and chest DOMS from that one. Good for you adding yoga back in! Stretching is so under-rated, plus the relaxation aspect. I'm still not being a good girl about getting it in weekly...it's been more like once a month:eek:.

Sarah- that was hilarious your comment about the kids going back to school with a sad and smilie face LOL. I know what you mean totally! One thing I'm not looking forward to is the avalanche of papers and homework the kids end up doing that falls on mom to help them with. Mark won't do any of that...plus he doesn't have the patience anyway.:rolleyes:

Jen-any word on the new job? How do you feel about it? Are you excited, nervous, unsure?

Thanks for the vote of confidence :). A lot of the stuff I learned was from you guys and the forum itself. Perhaps I should go into something training/fitness related. I really don't want to get back into the drug retail industry. I was there for almost 15 years and I'm kinda dreading finding employment within that industry again. It was a lot of stressful bulls**t and the hours of operation were getting crazy at the end when I took mat leave. I was being forced to work until midnight :(.

Hate Skylar! No really, I don't care what happens to her. I know she fears for her children lives, and I get that, but I don't think she is going about it the right way. I mean, trying to get attention by drowning yourself in front of family? If you want to kill yourself, just do it when no one is home you nut case! She treated Walter like crap from the beginning, and now she is getting hers. Sorry, call me a cold-hearted b****, that's ok. Ohhh yes, Jessie the hottie :p. Ahhh man I love that dude! He's an incredible actor too, I wonder why he's not in movies. Him and Bryan Cranston are A++. Have you noticed how much sexier Walter is now that he is a total bad a$$? That bald head, the goatee, his body seems to be getting a bit more muscular too ;).

Nat- Did you get DOMS? I just love PUB plus I think it goes by super fast.

I appreciate your honesty about about the 5 vanity lbs. I have those to although I never say it. I try not to focus on a number on the scale because it is just that. But none the less I have that same 5 lbs that I would really like to loose. :eek: I think the 1200-1300 is low with exercise but it may work for your body. I think I have to go towards 1500-1600 with exercise but I suppose that also depends on the exercise like say turbo barre vs. TTM.

We will be going back to school shopping soon. I don't think it will be to bad the kids don't need a ton of clothes, at least I don't think :confused:

Everything school falls on my head too, Colleen. For the same reasons, lack of patience :( I'm just glad my husband had more patience than my father. My father loved helping us with our homework :rolleyes: by hitting us alongside the head when we got the answer wrong or didnt understand it.

Jen- Have you been doing CF and TTM this week or are you taking a little break. I never took a break after the last Meso however, hindsight I probably should of.

Yesterday I did Turbo Barre. Boy the part when she does all the plie's on the standing legs after doing all the leg lifts is killer. I bowed out for the last 16 reps. Today perhaps Cyclemax??

Well, I have today off so I've been spending the entire morning and early afternoon either wasting time on the computer or working out. :eek:

Today I did an HC workout that I got from a lady on the check in at VF. Sandra sells what she calls her "club" dvds which are dvd-r's of her or her teaching her class. The quality isn't as good as a regular dvd but the workout is still there. I did the one called June Hardcore. Oh my god. It was the first time doing the HC's that I almost quit 20 minutes in. It was a lot of stability ball work and I just could not do it:(. I pressed on though and made it to the end. I decided to do Cathe's CSS afterwards (premix with bonus step) just so I could feel like I actually worked out. So much of the HC one I just gave up on some of the exercises... Okay positive attitude mask comes on "something to work towards! I can do it!!!":eek::p

Natty- that's so hilarious what you said about Skyler. LOL My youngest sister is the exact same way. She HATES Skyler with a burning fire!:eek: I was always sort of "meh" about her before. In the early seasons I was like, okay get through this scene with her because I do NOT care! I wanted to see all Walt and Jesse interaction. When I re-watch past episodes (I'm one of those people who can watch my favorite shows over and over), I always fast forward through any scenes with her or Marie in them. I find her more intriguing these past two seasons though. She is most definitely flawed, that's for sure. I like how they haven't painted her as this angelic victim like they would typically do with a female character in that position (tv, movies, hell all of society is totally all about the whole Madonna/whore context for viewing women...forget about layers). She's human, unlikeable in a lot of respects, and yet totally screwed right now. It's an interesting dynamic, I think. And Jesse...oh Jesse. I'm totally obsessed with Aaron Paul right now. Did you see the interview he had with Jay Leno where they showed clips of him on The Price is Right? He had just moved to L.A. so was maybe 18-19 years old. Oh my god it is so hilarious! Sarah-Love TB, I understand about the plies. Kids here don't go back till Sept.3rdsh. My Dad never helped out with homework, he worked 60+ hours a week in medicine.

Colleen-Yep, HC is hard. I couldn't do that. Enjoy your day off from work.

Natty-You would do well in the fitness industry. Get certified and check out your options. You could make your own hours. Vanity lbs, I know all about.

Today, I had an EaRN support meeting. The issue is that the people are ALOT older and their suggestions are stale sometimes. I go for the support and the marketing aspect of it. Much job advice is all opinionated anyways. Tomorrow is a required meeting for unemployment then Friday, I am meeting with someone whom may be working with me in the future.
The job, you ask? My answer is that if I'm not already employed when the time is right for me to come onboard as a paid employee, I will do it. The meeting tomorrow was a wake up call to pursue my social media dream. In September, I will be attending a huge networking event in metro Detroit, actually the city I would move to if I had the chance. Plus, I posted for a few jobs over there. Social media is hotter over there and more defined.
Well, with workouts, I had planned on it but not happening. My life filled up this week very fast. My goal is to do the last two new ones.
 
:D :D Well hello DOMS UB. Oh man, this one is rough. MY ENTIRE ARMS + CHEST + BACK + ANYTHING ELSE UP THERE is hurtin'. I think I'm going to like this rotation ;)

I just finished Plyo Legs W3. I totally kicked some serious booty :D. I did all the plyo just like Cathe, all the same step heights (yup, even the squat thrusts jumps on a 12inch step), every single rep to tempo. I successfully completed all the damn rock climber's (oh dear hell). The one legged squats into a jump (BRUTAL) I did too, except for the very last rep when my leg cramped up. My highlight was the lateral jumps over the step topper. I DID THEM ALL!! I was proud of me :D. I owe it all to the hiit's, especially 40/20.

Would you consider moving to Detroit then? How is it there? You would only be 4hrs and 44min away from me according to Google Maps (driving). That's nothing! I could definitely take a drive over ;)

Yes, I say vanity in my case because that's truthfully what my 5lbs are. I don't really need to lose weight, but I want to look damn good at the baby shower and wedding ;).
Oh Turbo Barre how I love thee, let me count thy ways :).
One day I shall join you in doing a virtual Cycle Max workout. I think that would be friggin' awesome actually.

I can remember when I first started doing Cathe, I would just watch it in amazement because so much of it was to hard. I still do that with some of the ab stuff

So has everybody already bought the presale?

My kids first day is Sep 4th. But when then turn around and pull the out of school 12-19th of September for our last summer trip.

Today was Butts and Guts. :) I did the standing portion but then when it got to the floor work I sort of did a few of my favorites from Cathe's other lower body dvds. I don't know if I mentioned before, but I'm not a fan of floor work with lower body. I'll do some stuff...but I avoid going on all fours to spare my knees and whenever she does the hamstring roll ins on the ball I always have to keep both feet on the ball. When I try it with one leg it always hurts my knees for some reason:(. What I wound up doing was while Cathe did floor stuff I went ahead and did some one legged deadlifts (I like to use my 15 lb kettlebell for those. Then I did the dixie cup lunges like she does in Trisets (forward, side, elevated lunge). Came to about 50 minutes. My tush felt pretty toasty this morning! :D

Great job on the Hiits and plyo Natty! I wasn't patting myself on the back too much with my HC workout yesterday, though. It felt like an epic fail big time! I'm going to do volume 3 tomorrow and I should do better. Those darn stability ball ones are ridiculous!:eek: I know what you mean about the vanity pounds. I always think it would be nice to lose those but I really am pretty content where I am right now. My weight hasn't budged in some time and I don't feel any urgent need to shed those. You look great in your pic I gotta say! Not sure where those pounds would come from!:eek::eek:

Sarah- I did get the Xtrain presale. I can't wait to get it! I was planning on doing STS again but I may just wait until Xtrain comes out to commit to weights again. I'm having so much fun with HC and my arms are looking pretty decent with the body weight exercises. I loved STS when I was doing it...but I sort of dread the idea of committing a whole workout day to just a few muscle groups again. Not that there is anything wrong with the splits, it's just not what I'm in the mood for these days. I'm hoping when Xtrain comes out I'll be all psyched and ready to do those again.
Our kids start Sept 4, too. Coming up quickly!!

Jen- ever going to let us peek at your blog? I'm super curious to read it!:D Good luck with all your meetings this week!
