WEIRD workout card!

I hope someone has an answer to this because I plan to start STS on Monday and I really don't get this !

I printed out my workout card and looking at the numbers on it, MUCH of it doesn't make any sense !

Like WHY would it say my 1RM for core pushups is 163 , and for staggered 157, and straddle pushups 175 ? I didn't even DO the 1RM test for pushups?? (for standard btw, it says ZERO ) ??

Am I actually doing the workout with the weights listed under TARGET WEIGHT ? There are a lot of odd weight sizes such as 22 pounds or 17 pounds . I don't have the magnetic weights for adding on......what is the best way to add a couple pounds ? I was going to buy the weighed gloves, but they are only 1# , right ?

Sorry I am so confused. I think I am just panicking , knowing I am starting monday and I'm not sure I'm prepared .

Thanks. Hope these questions make sense.

See responses in red below... I'm not SNM but hopefully this will help a bit.

If you didnt do 1RM testing for pushups - its a bug for sure...and NO - you shouldnt have done any for push ups.

Am I actually doing the workout with the weights listed under TARGET WEIGHT ? YES...This is the correct % of your 1RM for that exercise

There are a lot of odd weight sizes such as 22 pounds or 17 pounds . I don't have the magnetic weights for adding on......what is the best way to add a couple pounds ? SNM just answered this last night...Go as close to the target # as you can (consider using ankle wts as wrist wts if you dont have wrist weights. The ? was also asked do I go up or down from Target Wt if I cant be exact & SNM said go down as you can adjust up next workout if you felt it was too easy.

I was going to buy the weighed gloves, but they are only 1# , right ?
Cathes come with two 1/2 pound sand bags so each glove can be 1/2 or 1# increment

You're fine!!! Once you actually start the workout it flows very smoothly. I am doing the 6 month version just because I wanted to make adjustments from week 1...I'm VERY happy I am. I am finding I get more out of the disc the second time I do it.
Thanks. Hope these questions make sense.

Has anyone else had numbers plugged in for 1RM tests they haven't yet done? That happened to me..... I need to go back in and look at it again (have not yet started STS but plan to soon). It makes me feel unsure of the numbers I did do the tests for.

Thank you Tracy for the help ! :) I feel better about it now.:)

I am wondering one other thing. In my 1RM column, it shows some exercises with the barbell that are upwords of 90 pounds. All upperbody, since I'm not doing the testing on legs. My barbell loaded is 40 pounds.
Since I don't plan on going very heavy with my legs at all (mostly due to back issues), I hate to go buy weights just for a few u/b exercises. Any ideas ? I was thinking of getting the 10# vest, but even that won't bring it up to enough weight .

I appreciate all your ideas and suggestions ! It's good to know how happy you are with the workouts.

Becky: Is the 1RM 90+#s Or is the TARGET WT 90+ #s? I ask only because 90#s is a high # for actual lifting targets which are in the 60-65% range for meso 1... 1RM #s will be high- but remember you arent EVER lifting your 1RM #....Even Meso 3 (HEAVIEST) is only 80-85% of 1RM

Hey Becky! Don't panic. It will all work out. I find the use of the pace weights is great. I think I mentioned before - it's all about the preparation. I try to put my starting weights out the night before and adjust as I get into the WO. There have been some exercises that i have missed a rep or 2, but not much.

I don't have the same problem with the BB - none of my weights are that high. i don't have any immediate plans to buy a weighed vest.

I've been sore in every body part except bis and chest and I think that means i need to up my weight from the designated percentage. So, on a whole, I haven't had too many difficulties.

I didn't do 1RM for legs at all.

I'm sure you'll do fine tomorrow. Are you excited to start?

Hi Phyllis ! :)

Thanks for your suggestions and comments. :)

I am thinking about the pace weights, they seem like a good idea and like it will solve most of my problems with inbetween sized weights.

With the help from Tracey (and YOU!) I feel much better about it and I'm very excited to start !!! :)

Okay and the BB question.......the heavy weight WAS my 1RM, so I guess I don't have to worry about that too much either.
