Hey, Ladies. Happy 19th year anniversary to me and hubby. Love that man!!!!!

I got almost 9 hours of rest last night. woohoo. No run today. I need me some Cathe fun. I'll tell you later which workout I chose.

Editing to say: I did a crossfire premix. Love the music and the moves in this one. So much fun.

Happy anniversary Shereta! Sounds like you started the day off right. : )

Today was M3D30 + STS ball abs + In the Ring ball work and combined combos and finished with STS extended stretch. My shoulder is much better since I added more stretching. I'm itching to finish STS, I'm starting to miss circuit work. Only two more weeks! Woot!

Vacation for DH this week so we're hopefully going to hike Mt. Washington and do some extra cycle miles during the week.

Today I decided to switch around and do my circuit w/o instead d/t my time crunch. I did Cardio & Weights. I love that one. The step is fun and fast. I enjoy the music. And the weights are challenging for me. Today was the FIRST TIME I totally matched her weights and did ALL reps!! Trust me, my muscles were burning!! It felt soooo good! another disc STS has helped me to improve on :D Big diffences I noticed were in my biceps she always outlifted me! Triceps also a big difference. And my back, I finally understand how to lift properly after STS and I feel a huge difference now when doing so!! My endurance has also improved b/c by the fourth round I'm usually toast in energy, but I had pep to finish it out strong while enjoying it. Im glad I took a rest day yesterday too.

Shereta....ahh...sleep...what a wonderful thing when you get enough! Congrats on those comfortable 14 clothes!! You are on your way :D HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

Renee...oh my gosh!! You poor thing with all of those feet issues!! Im surprised you keep pushing to do any w/o on your feet!!

Tina you are sooo close to finishing out STS!! Like you, I missed the circuits too. That is why I have 2 of them per week in my current rotation!!

Ok guys. Have a great workout and great day! I have to prep for a phone interview I have soon.

I posted late last night & Im not sure if everyone checks out that thread first before posting on the new thread. So, I wanted to make sure everyone saw it and Im sorry if it's a repeat...just ignore then please :) :

Finishing STS was HUGE!! That was my first round AND my first ever Cathe rotation!! Heck, that was pretty much the first rotation I have EVER finished!! So, it has me feeling pretty good. I definitely gained strength!! My weight didn't budge cuz I really had a pretty bad few months of overeating, dieting, then binge cycle going on. But finishing it has gotten me motivated to go back through my other w/os and see how I have improved. I have to admit tho, STS may have made me a lil over confident cuz even tho I can lift heavier now, Cathe still kicks my butt and I had to eat a lil humble pie through my first non-STS weight w/o

Mel and Sue thanks for the encouragement to register for the races. Sue, you're right, I do wanna do them. I just gotta get over the fact I just probably won't be finishing very fast & get over my irrational fears!! And Melanie, Im sure I can do a 5k like you said! Thanks guys :D

Renee so sorry to hear about all of your foot issues! You are definitely worse off than me. I hope it can be resolved or at least controlled for you.

Sue we all have days like that!! Today I woke up and I just knew that there was no way I was going to be able to w/o. I needed a day off! And you just need to listen to your body. this was a need to rest not an excuse to be lazy as I have had to learn the difference !! LOL ;)
I take a 5HTP and Melatonin supplement to help me sleep and I have gotten some of the best night's sleep. You can also take some Benadryl to knock you out too. I don't like prescription stuff and it is really a last resort/temporary solution.

Shereta wow, Marine Corps?! Impressive. And 6.7? Also impressive! But our abilities do change as we age as you well know. As long as you do your best and keep working it - just like you are - then you are doing GREAT!! When I did my outside run the other day, it had a few hills and I clocked in at 13 min/mile. so, we could be running partners! That would be nice! I've realized for my goals that they are good to have, but this is for life and there is no deadline for me to get to a certain distance or speed just when my body is ready to reach it.

Sooo great to be back! You guys are awesome :D

Gina, your results from STS fall in line with a lot of others I've seen posts from. I hope that's Cathe's idea behind that program - gain strength. Not too many folks actually lost weight following it.

I read an article in Runners' world about people working out more and it made their appetite sore. Folks really had to keep their calories in check to actually loose. That's what I'm trying to do. I've lost some this month, but not the 7 I thought I would at this point. But, I'm like you, I love feeling stronger.

Body blast today. Yoga later before bed. I understand wanting to gain strength but I really hope the xtrain will help us lose some weight! Geez I need all thhe help I can get. That's why I didn't grt sts yet I have weight lifting dvds already and want whatever mixture I need too lose. So whatever I caan do ill. Do. Lol

Great 9 miles today on the dreadmil. Busy day. baby party and out of town guests. must food/gift shop and cook. see yaaaaasssss

Happy Saturday!! Although today was like fall in the 60s & cloudy this am gardening. It was a nice change, but Im not ready for it to stay.

I woke up late this am and didn't get my run in. Im the type that if I don't do cardio in the morning, I don't get it in and that's what happened today. Im lucky I did my lower body w/o which I just finished.

Pyramid Lower Body premix Down Only was on tap. I loved doing the plie squats for some reason. I matched her weights which honestly felt a lil light, but I was breathin & sweatin pretty good! Fast weight changes. Soo, I thought to myself, "this is pretty easy!!" Yeah, right! Can you believe the stabily ball moves did me in?! Why are those sooo hard for me?! The hamstring moves I couldn't do all of them. the inner thighs were good, but the outer thighs had me crying mercy!! Cathe brings me to my knees again  literally.

Shereta great job on the 9 miler!! I will do my run tmrw am before sunday early dinner with my parents. Hope you ended up having a nice party!!

Everybody else I hope you all are havin a good w/e!!

Gina

Hi everyone! I've been feeling under the weather lately - so I've been taking some time to sleep. I really needed it. I never sleep in, and today I slept until 10:00. I'm usually awake at 5:20 every morning.

Hey Shereta! Happy anniversary! That is so sweet to hear how much you love your hubby. I'm sure he's so proud of you for taking care of yourself and being determined to be healthy. AND CONGRATS on the 9-mile run! You're getting close to your goal of 11 miles by the end of the month.

Gina - I haven't done Cardio & Weights for ages. I really love that one - its so upbeat and fun to do. Glad to hear how STS has really improved your strength and you can match Cathe on the weights on C&W. What a great feeling!

Tina - I can't wait to get STS done too. Honestly, I haven't lost as much weight as I was hoping to, but I feel that my body has gotten leaner. My clothes fit great, even though the # on the scale says that they shouldn't be fitting me so well. So, I'd rather focus on that than the scale.

Tomorrow I'm hoping to get in a 10-mile run. I'll let you know how it goes. Its supposed to be raining, but I like running in the rain. :)

Hi everyone

I hope you don't mind me joining. I am in a weight loss challenge at work and the first week I haven't done well so hoping to get back on track and get at least ten pounds off.

I am deciding what type of rotation I should be doing but mainly it is the eating that I need to control. I did ww last year and was successful but have put a few pounds back on so want to get it off. I am doing ww online and hoping it gets me back on track.

Did my 10 miles this morning!!! :):):) My heart-rate monitor shows I burned 1250 calories! That's insane.

Welcome to the check-in Rhonda - what's your workout schedule like?

Hi ladies! I didn't feel like working out yesterday so walked for an hour on the dreadmill. Walk/run this morning got going at 9am, it was already hot & humid so I did 15 non-consecutive minutes of running. Yeah, I'm a wimp but I'm proud that I didn't walk back inside after feeling the wall of heat. I really need to get that done earlier! eating was clean all week then I had pizza yesterday. Not worried, there's only so many salads I can eat :)

Gina - I actually started walking on my treadmill while working. only 1-2 hours a day with the rest standing. I guess I'm just a sweaty person because I slowed the pace & put a fan on and still waterworks :) thank goodness I work at home! Have you filled out your race forms yet? last year I did a warrior dash. was pretty unprepared for it so I walked most of the route. It was still a fun time, loved the obstacles. my goal was to finish and I did that. next time I enter I'll try for a better time, I got my baseline out of the way. maybe that's how you should think of your first races? a starting number.

Shereta - I think the trick to keeping your appetite under control is finding the foods that keep you fuller longer. Sounds like you had a busy day yesterday! How was the party?

Renee - I'm thinking about preordering xtrain, I may be in good enough shape by then to complete it. I'm looking forward to being told what to do and when :)

Melanie - Wow, 10 miles! Congrats, are you feeling great or what? You & Shereta are rocking the running!

Rhonda - Welcome! tell us more about yourself. I think going back to what has worked in the past is a good place to begin.

Tina - Getting your cycling in this weekend?

Here's to a great week for us all!

Wow wtg I could never do that! :)

Suethepoo. I can't wait for xtrain I do have questions though and hopes. I wanted to ask what job do have have that u can be home? I had been looking and afraid ill get a scam. I heard blue cross will but u have to work there full time for awhile and that would b a pay cut. I only work 3 or 4 days a week now. Love the schedule. But being at home Would be better!
Well I did bootcamp today. It was tough for me today. Yesterday was a rest day I stretched is all. But it was hard to get going today. I did it and felt I could have done better. So I may go For a walk latter.

Happy Sunday Ladies. No workout today. I got up early and cooked breakfast for our over night guests. The party was a little fine. No food for me cause I'd already cooked at home for our guests.

Going out of town on Friday. Got to get my 10 miler in Thursday evening which I'm not looking forward to because we'll be in the car for 8 hours on Friday. Usually, after my long runs, I'm busy all day so no time for stiffness to set in. I'm a little worried about running thursday pm and then the car ride. Oh, well, Motrin will be keeping me company.

weights tomorrow. woohoo

Wow Melanie, 10 miles of running? That's awesome! All of you who run on this challenge are so inspiring!

Congrats on the weight loss Shereta, all that hard work is paying off! : )

Weather was yucky this weekend, but we managed to log in 91 miles. We were stuck in a downpour when DH's back tire burst, and then we were mosquito snacks for the 10 minutes it took to fix it. Three days of rain and the bugs have officially taken over.

Tomorrow we will attempt to hike Mt. Washington with the kids. My DD can do it, but DS is another story. Hopefully we make it home without any major blow-ups. Wish me luck, my 15 y.o. has the attitude of a 15 y.o., go figure. I may need a drink with dinner tomorrow night.

Hi everyone,

Right now I am trying to figure out a good rotation. I was doing the BEAST workouts but one disc isn't working properly and I am on my third request (through Mary, bless her) to get me the correct DVD. They keep sending the wrong one.

So in the meantime I bought DeltaFit and doing this rotation. It is from Men's Health and I am actually liking it. It is a three day a week program and the other days you don't have to do anything or do one of the HEAT workouts as they call them. I am planning on putting in kickboxing or some cardio from LIS.

As I have mentioned I would like to lose 10 pounds. Weighed this weekend and stayed the same during vacation so now I am going to get with the program.

Thanks for the welcome.

Rhonda

OK - what the what???

I weighed myself this morning, thinking FOR SURE I would have lost a little because yesterday I burned 1200 calories, but I've actually gained a pound.

What is going on? I am definitely not over-eating. I don't drink alcohol, don't eat junk food, don't eat processed food, don't eat icecream (which is REALLY hard in the summer!) - all in the hopes of losing some weight.

I shouldn't be getting my period until next week, so that can't be a factor.

Anyways, I don't mean to rant, I'm just frustrated.

I just need to focus on positive things though. I'm loving running and it makes me feel so good, so I'm just going to focus on that. Honestly though this morning when I stepped on the scale and saw the gain, for a split second I thought about giving up. But I went out anyways and had a good 5-mile hilly run.
