Weightloss Challenge Now Thru 12/31 - Sept 21st

Wow, we must all be in a Tri Sets mood. After MM this morning, I added on Trisets scrambled mix, which without the stretch at the end, is about 42 min. I thinks this premix would go very nicely with Supersets, which I'll try sometime in the future.

Shereta, CCC was never I favorite of mine. I traded it a few months ago for an Amy Bento oldie.

Just to add my two cents about CCC :)

I once sprained my ankle doing one of the drills and have not done it too many times since then. I don't know if I tripped cause I'm a klutz or because I was tired or what. But CCC really kills me. I don't know why this one doesn't have a lot of fun factor, and it seems to be a common opinion of lots of Cathletes.

Cathe said during one of the segments "You all wanted a cardio challenge so here it is." It's truly unfun for me. When I do it, I make almost all of it low impact to soften the dread factor. But it is still a dread factor. Of well, there are so many others to choose from.

Today I did 4DS HIS, this is the last week of 4DS for this rotation and I'm happy about that. Shereta good job on that cardio! That's some serious calorie burning. And thanks for the HRM info. I like to use new gadgets & gear as rewards for doing the "dread" items on my todo list :). Tina nice present for the anniversary, you got each other bike stuff, soul mates :). I think stress eating is hard to get a handle on because, at least for me, the food's in my belly before I realize what I'm doing. Brain doesn't engage properly. I'm jealous about your new Trader Joe's, nothing like that around me for many miles. Sniff. Melanie nice job on getting the workout you wanted done, I bet that really improved your day! No, I don't have a weighted vest, it'll have to go on my wish list :)

I'm starting to think about how I should switch things up next month. When I first started losing weight I did it solely from walking, every night after dinner for an hour. Lost about 20 lbs from walking alone, not sure why I stopped, maybe not enough time or bad weather. I think I'll try to fit in evening walks in addition to weights and cardio. For weights I'm going to do STS total body once a week, 4 days of cardio including walk/runs now that the weather is getting cooler. My midsection is where I need the most improvement, I'm wondering if there's any benefit to adding 1-2 days of core work each week. I know you can't spot reduce, but darn it I'm going to be twigs for arms & legs sticking out of a round freaking belly! Seriously, I'm losing inches everywhere except my stomach. Patience & perseverance (or vise-versa).

g'night ladies, may all our sweet dreams come true :)

Today's workout was 4DS Bootcamp, triceps and biceps. I burned 733 calories in 62 minutes. I am stronger this week than I was last week. I love working with weights, not so with functional fitness. Altho i need that too. Maybe I'll do some of those next week. Tomorrows a rest day from working out. I may run with DH on Saturday. That would make him very happy.

I am down 1.6 pounds in 2 days. Funny how working out and eating appropriately work hand in hand. I really feel like I'm back on track. Last night, we ate at McDonald's. I had a side salad with no dressing and a grilled chicken sandwich and did not eat all the bun. I was so proud of myself.

Good morning ladies - sounds like we're all getting on track and feeling good about things!

Sue - I totally hear you on the tummy issues. I was just lamenting this very morning the pooch I've developed over the last year. I've never had rock-hard abs, but I didn't have a pooch. It seems like no matter what I do I can't get rid of it.

I too am going to add more core workouts (3/week - I remember Cathe once recommending that). Its true that you can't spot reduce, but core training is so important and affects our ability to do other training effectively. I even read that a strong core is essential to proper running form.

So core training could improve your walking and cardio workouts. I'm going to try it. I admit that I usually put it off unless its included in a workout, and its not my favourite thing to do. But I gotta do it!!!

Sue - I think your workout program sounds really good. How do you feel after completing your 4DS rotation?

Shereta - A BIG congrats to you on your self control at MacDonalds!! You're right to feel proud of yourself. You keep making positive changes to your diet and it really shows in the posts you write how its positively affecting you.

Oh yeah - this morning I did Cardio Super Sets. That's a fun little routine. I love the fact that its only 41 minutes, but I still felt that it was an effective workout. Its got some really good compound exercises that really get the core working.

I'm craving for a good run, so I brought my gear with me to work today and I plan on running home - its around a 4 mile run. Last night I felt I could go out for a 2 hour run, but I was too busy. I just feel the need to RUUUUUNNNNNN!

Have a great day girls. :)

hi ladies, I got a super late workout in tonight, 4DS KB. Melanie you asked how I feel after this rotation. Well I'll be done w it on Sunday but I think I'm far enough hat I can draw some conclusions. I'm definitely stronger, my biceps and quads have some good tone to them. triceps improved but they're going to need a lot of work. I have a pretty weak core and I've seen some strength improvements there.

pressed the wrong button, continuing...

Happy anniversary Tina! I hope your day was just wonderful :)

Melanie you talked me into more core workouts. I'm not going to plan them out on a schedule but I'll try to work my core anytime my muscles aren't sore. We'll see how often that turns out. did you get a run in today?

Shereta, congrats on the weight loss, it's well earned! And self-control @ McDonald's - excellent job keeping your goals in mind and adjusting your meal plan accordingly.

I'm going to make a resolution right now and that's No Halloween Candy! Those little bite size bars really add up and will get the holidays off to a bad start.

Tomorrow's supposed to be a rest day but I think I'll do yoga.

sleep tight :)

So the bike light was a big hit, he loves it. I met him out for a ride last night. He leaves from his work and I meet him from the opposite direction. His light is so bright, I thought he was an oncoming motorcycle. I have an old bike light that's really meant for dusk rides, I didn't even need it while riding behind him. I'm not a big fan of the dark rides, but the weather looks really iffy for the next four days, so I went out of desperation. We cancelled the anniversary ride. Hopefully next week. (I thought our anniversary was today and DH informed me last night that it is in fact on Sunday )

High Step Challenge this morning. I'm going to delay STS one more week just to get a few more favorites in. BM2, B&G, Low Max, Imax 1 and Drill Max, then I should be STS ready.

Sue, I'm going to follow your resolution: No Halloween candy. I did that a few years ago and managed to stick to it. I'm up for a challenge!

I hope you all have a great weekend! :)
