Does anyone use a weighted vest? If you do......what brand? What size? When do you wear it? Do you like it? Have you found it to be a worthwhile piece of equipment? What gains have you seen directly related to the vest?

I tried to order one on-line and at "check-out" I got an alert that it was out of stock. It was 12lbs. Then I got worried that maybe 12 lbs is too much!

I'm 5ft 3in/ about 110lbs, petite upper body (but very well toned, Thank you Cathe ;)).

Appreciate all input.

I bought Cathe's 10 lb weighted vest. I do like it but don't use it too often. It does come in handy when I'm doing squats and want that extra weight but don't want to add it to the barbell or grab heavier dumbbells.

I've recommended this one a few times before, but I just love it. I use mine quite often because I like to go as heavy as possible for my legs and it's tough to use anything heavier than 30lbs. If it's a barbell, I don't feel safe hoisting it above my head because I don't have a squat rack and with dumbbells my grip gives out even with the 30's after a short time.

Here it is: Amazon.com: MIR® - 30LBS WOMEN ADJUSTABLE WEIGHTED VEST: Sports & Outdoors
It's pricey but worth it in my opinion. It's very good quality and fits a woman's build much better than most other weight vests. The only complaint was that when you first get it the weights are in their pockets very tightly. It took me quite awhile to get the little iron bars out the first time. Since then the pockets have loosened up and it's fine. HTH!

I have a Rip 60 (20lb total) 10lb vest and an attachable 10lb belt. Got it on amazon for about $60. Not sure if it's still available. I really wanted the MIR but didn't want to spend the money. I use mine a lot for leg workouts such as STS. I do have to take it off whenever deadlifts are called for though which can be a pain when your tired or hurrying to keep up with the workout video. But it keeps my hands from wearing out before my legs :)
