Weighted Vest

I heard a few people mention using a weighted vest during S&H Legs. Where do you find them? What is the average price? Are they comfortable to wear?

I'm struggling in S&H legs. I can't seem to use enough weight to thoroughly work my legs during this workout.

hi guys,

I bought my weighted vest at Target for @ 35.00/ It is 10 lbs and can go to 20 with "add-ins". I checked on my box and they have a website that may help.........

www.tmgfit.com

Hope that helps,
GN

Hi Margie! I bought mine at http://www.strength-systems.com/ It is pricey but well worth it for cross training! I also have the weighted shorts! Check them out on the site! They are great for lower body strengthening--walks,treadmill,cycling etc! You can also check out online only at www.sportsauthority.com (free shipping deals) www.dickssportinggoods.com www.modells.com and in the search put weighted vest or weighted shorts! Bollinger has a vest also as well as reebok check out these sites for more info http://www.fogdog.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1136766 http://www.performbetter.com/catalog/dept.asp?dept_id=78 http://www.reebokfitness.co.uk/Workout/IronwearVest.asp -Your friend in fitness~~Francine

I get by with a jerry-rigged substitute I'd like to mention. I velcro a set of 2 1/2 pound ankle weights around my waist after the warm-up and just leave them there the rest of the leg workout. This adds five pounds, which is all I need. I can hoist 55 lbs over my head, so that makes 60. I don't know what I'll do when I need more though.

I got mine (comews 10 pounds but can go up to 2#) from reebok.com They were having a free shipping special at the time. It cost around $80.

Hey, GN!

GN,
I'm in total disbelief here, it's just too good to be true. Did you actually buy this at Target??????? I feel a major purchase coming on! What state do you live in? (If you don't mind me asking) Was it a regular Target or a Target Greatland, or a Super Target? I feel doubtful that my local one would carry it, but that would be SO awesome to not have to pay shipping and handling charges on those weights.

Thanks,

Julie

RE: Hey, GN!

Thanks everyone for the resources, I checked them all out and now I'll have to decide which way to go. I did stop at the Target in my area and they didn't have a weighted vest. Actually their fitness section didn't have much of anything.

RE: Hey, GN!

Hi Guys,

I am located in NJ and it was on clearance for 35.00 .I think it still actually sold for 50.00 or so. I was going to return it because I thought too much weight near the stomach wouldnt be good for me internally ( stomach problems) but after hearing all the good feedback, I decided to keep it.

check out Target.com

Maybe you can get online or perhaps they can even order it.

HTH,
GN
