Weighted boxing gloves

As a kickboxing enthusiast I am looking for more direction on weighted boxing gloves in order to increase intensity now that form is down.

I've seen some recent posts re: some of you who use them. Can you recommend a brand? I have been researching on internet.

I have been working out combining KPC and KM drills and blasts then moving into the punching sequences of both...a great workout.

We got mine at our local gym that offered kickboxing classes.. They are 2lbs each and on the palm part it says Kickbox Jamie soffell..? not sure if that is the brand or not.. then on the part that wraps around it says Ironwear Flexmetal technology?

I highly recommend Ironwear gloves. I've tried several different types of weighted gloves, and Ironwear is the most comfortable. They are filled with a pliable, heavy rubber, which fits around the hand very nicely. And the weight is nicely distributed between the palm and the back of the hand.

I've tried several different types of weighted gloves over the years (maybe a half-dozen?) Some have the weight mostly on the back of the hand, and they felt unbalanced to me (maybe because I have small hands and wrists). Those that are filled with sand shift too much. I rarely disagree with Carole, ;-) , but I tried the ones from Walmart (the same 1.5 pair, I'm sure: they were black and yellow), and they irritated the skin on my hands where the gloves bent. Too hard, like bent metal rather than soft rubber.

Ironwear is a manufacturer that makes weighted accessories (gloves, vests, ankle weights) for other brands. I've seen them at Target (years ago), which is where I got my first pair of gloves and a pair of ankle weights that can also be used as a belt, at Reebok (I ordered a weighted vest from the Reebok site--when they had a free-shipping deal, and bought a second pair of 1#--the size I use for kickboxing, at a Reebok factory outlet store near me), at Janis Saffel's site (though I think she's not carrying them anymore). I also ordered a couple of pair of heavier Ironwear gloves (2 and 3#) from an internet site I found by searching "ironwear glove."

Just want to thank you for your responses. I appreciate the input greatly. Continuing to find new challenges in my workouts is a high priority.

And for an internet "shy" girl, it's a treat to talk with like minded people.

I went to our Wal-mart and couldn't find them after Carole posted that it another thread. I'm going to google ironwear glove and see what I come up with.

Thanks!
