My daughter lost 26 lbs this summer on WW Core. It's EXCELLENT program, really about eating clean.

I highly recommend it and if you can go to the meetings, recommend you do that. Finding a leader you like is key too.

Good luck!

My daughter lost over 50 lbs on WW and has kept it off for over 4 years. Hands down for weight loss it has a proven track record. For me, I've never wanted to lose weignt.....I only wanted to gain muscle so I follow BFFM plan and it is working well for me in attaining my goals... as long as I keep the calories high enough so I don't lose weight.

WW lifetimer here, this month marks 3 years ago I joined. I gained back about 10 of the almost 40 I lost, last year, but it is coming off with the help of the Core plan.

I'm coming up on my 2 year anniversary as a WW lifetimer. If you follow the plan you will lose weight. Just for a change in pace, I am giving BFFM a try to lose my vacation weight (10 pounds - yikes!). It would be easy to follow WW and use BFFM methods. BFFM is similar to WW Core where you are eating little or no processed foods. So from my experience, either plan is good.

I agree with TK. WW Core is a wonderful plan that works and is clean eating. I'm reading BFFM now and it's very similar to WW Core. To me, BFFM goes so much more in depth and really explains the details of losing fat...information you won't get at WW. However, WW provides support and accountability that BFFM cannot.

I think the two work hand in hand and agree that either plan is good. I'm thinking I might use the two in conjuction because I know myself well enough to know that I will not lose as much weight without the accountability. I will cheat and look the other way and pretend it never happened!

Put me down as another WW lifetime member. I've lost around 90 lbs since April 2004, and have been lifetime since July 2005. I totally agree about finding a great leader if you can, that was a trememdous help to me personally.

Not a fan of any of them, especially starvation!!

I'm a fan of clean eating and food combining...Going more on the veggie side of things lately...I've totally cut out red meat, pork, shellfish, dairy, sugars (artificial and any processed) and white foods (white tators, white flour, white rice, etc...) in favor of foods that are in their "natural" state...The only thing that I can think of using in an "unnatural" state lately are my vitamins (no gelatin, artificial colors, starches, fillers, etc...) and my protein shake (which is sweetened with stevia and made from pea proteins, again no fillers, colors, etc...)...It's worked for me!

I don't know what BFFM really is, but doesn't WW have many prepackaged foods which would be high in sodium (at least pp foods typically are)???

I have used WW to lose 20 lbs of fat. Now that I am trying to buff up I am thinking about BFFM. I think WW it would be tricky to add muscle. I like WW though because it is so simple and I can remember it well enough to readjust my eating if I find my waist getting tight in my pants. I have kept my 20 lbs off for 2 years.

You don't have to eat the WW prepared foods...I have never really seen them around my store anyway. Maybe you are thinking of Jenny Craig.....

Does anyone have a promotion code for weight watchers online? I don't mind the $16.95 monthly fee but the $29.95 for just signing up is too pricey just to try it for a month!! I'd like to try thier core plan but I'm not sure if I will like the online service...

Lifetime member here as well! I lost close to 70lbs about 3years ago and have kept them off since. I still count my pts DAILY!!!

I would love to lean out and get defined muscles and I think that will only happen if I REALLY eat clean...maybe like BFFM???

Also, WW does have prepared foods and baked goods. You don't have to eat them but they do come in handy for those quick meals. I agree, lots of sodium..so I suggest that you drink lots of WATER!!! and don't weigh yourself the next day! LOL!!!!

Also, go to the WW meetings. You will need the accountability and support. A GREAT leader is certainly a BIG plus.

Good luck!:)

take care:)

I loss 45 pounds on WW and have kept it off for 2 years. I go to the meetings I journal and exercise. I used to exercise lots and lots and lots without the portion control and watching what I ate part and it was just a waste of time, I generally just got hungrier and bigger (not muscle wise). I am a leader for WW and maybe I am bias but I think the support you receive makes all the difference.

I started out with WW and had great results. However, I wasn't able to get my 4-pack (not quite at the 6-pack just yet) until I started following the BFFM program. Combining this knowledge with Cathe's workouts, you just cannot go wrong.

Both are great eating plans but for controls, WW does have the weekly meetings to keep you on track...if you're the kind of person that needs that sort of thing.

this is so inspirational to see how many success stories.

MJ just to correct you Core is really clean eating. It isn't based on points, which could allow you to have the "preprocessed" foods.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is BFFM? I would like to eat cleaner, and I know I have to lose weight. I am doing WW again.

I wondered the same thing myself, so I looked it up. Evedently it is a program called burn the fat, feed the muscle. The link is
http://www.burnthefat.com/?hop=mda1125 I haven't read it yet I am about to do that. I know nothing really about either program. I do know abut the starvation method, and won't try that. It dosn't sound appealing.:)
