Woke up to a wonderful surprise... DH got me my bike for V Day NOT my birthday next month! The cutest singing card with I'm Walking on Sunshine playing... We had agreed no presents as we are just doing dinner at home tonight (not keen on V Day crowds & prices in restaurants!) I dont even have his card signed yet.... I've always said he's a much better husband than I am wife.... He's had more practice tho- I'm his 3rd and hes my 2nd

Today is Tricep Day + I'll being having a V Day date w/ Tony for Cardio X. Its my non step cardio day
Triceps will be PUB, SS, CTX

My body is all a glow & toasty this week... Feeling like I need my Yoga (rest) day sooner than Saturday but we'll see. I'll base that on my performance today.

Back with personals from yesterday ... Were ya all having a party on board? My goodness some of my skimming left me laughing! You guys are really funny even when you arent trying! BBL:+

Personals......

:7 BELINDA: Did you see this topic in Open Discussion going on now? Thought it might help you....
OPEN FORUM DISCUSSION: "Plantar Fascitis and Shoe Rec...."
Enjoy the closet cleaning! i actually LOVE purging the old & organizing that kind of thing.. Soon will be time to do it again! GREAT JOB on Cardio Fusion yesterday!!! Thats a TOUGHIE for sure! On CTX.... I personally love the weight work and the shorter cardio and Leaner Legs is a must have. ... Theres also a 20 minute All Abs that is AWESOME... It pulls all 3 ab segments from the series so its so well rounded!

}( Cheryl: Keeping fingers & toes crossed for a FRUITFUL & CIVIL meeting this morning... Cant wait to hear about it! AWESOME job putting those big jeans up for sell! Thats shows a positive attitude towards your weight loss being permanent! Just wonderful! Scale back down to 127.2 today (122-125 goal range) so I am pleased as punch... Its gotta be the thyroid meds / hormone pills because I "feel" just a bit differently - cant really put my finger on it yet.... Of course the 1800 calories a day of Lean Protein & Veggies are helping too I'm sure!:+ Glad Back 7 Bi got all your energy & focus yesterday! I really think as we try to build muscle that cardio needs to be the secondary focus... Thats how I feel today... In order to fry the triceps I had to put in a really low key cardio.

:D Amy: OMG! 1000 cal burner? I have NEVER seen anyone report that!!! I think back last year when we were both doing those 2 hour crazy cardio days I saw 750 once ... AMAZING! ^^^^5! On the protein shake... I have always used just 1 scoop at a time for recovery and was just fine! I think some of those incredibly high protein counts are designed for the guys...On the eating... Its all about helping the Hormone Meds work most efficiently. Food obviously is a huge factor on metabolism & hormones so in order to get the dosages accurate more quickly we need to eat cleanly and do our part to balance it all out... It takes about 10 days to get the gunk out and start feeling better then the last 3 weeks are about establishing habits & patterns as well as allowing my new meds to work at optimum levels. I am actually adjusting quite well now that the first 7 days are down... I am in the flow and have adjusted to the much needed increase in Protein intake.

Gidget: :+ GREAT BM & Run workout yesterday! Too funny about baby... thinks he's aware that mommy wants a little "me" time? So sorry you are getting sick! Be careful not to overdo!

:p TEDDYGIRL: You were 1 excited lady yesterday!Dont ya LOVE buying those DVDs that are SCREAMING your name? Be VERY careful as you trek around town... The wrecks on world news just blow me away! How are those legs today???

LoriS: :+ We women are so funny at TTOM.... I make myself crazy with decisions as well! DH always tells me- DO NOT MAKE ANY MAJOR DECISIONS WHEN HORMONAL!... He is unfortunately very right! Glad you feel better and got in a killer workout! All is well again for 3 weeks!

Jane & Claude hope all is well in your worlds!!!:7

Good Morning!

Just checking in and sipping coffee before heading out to the doctor's appt. I slept HORRIBLY last night. One reason is that one of the cats kept walking over me and waking me up, the other is that I guess I'm nervous for some reason.

Traci- Thanks for the lowdown. I don't know if you had posted that before and I just missed it, but it seems to make sense. I am glad that you are over the "hump" so to speak and are getting in the groove of it. Are you going to have to eat like that all the time, or is it just temporary? Too cute on the DH!!! I got mine a card with 3 cats on the cover....fitting, no? Yes, I have actually been able to hit 1000 cal burner workouts using Cathe's latest ones and really "bringing it". Of course, I take short breathers between cardio segments to allow my HR to come down before hitting the next segment...I guess that it makes it more of an HIIT workout. I hope that your Tris get their work done and you'll be able to move them later!!! Don't drop your coffee cup, girl!!

Cheryl- OMG, I am sorry for the horrific tragedy! I hope that they are able to figure out what happened and why! I am glad that none of your family were there! On the business note...I find that it's interesting that people outside your place have commented on your split. It's amazing what an eye-opening experience this has turned out to be! I wonder, also, what your employees think about the split, or haven't you told them. My guess is that they are all cheering and dancing in the streets and are clamoring to work for you!!!

TG- You crack me up! I totally know how you feel about getting new workouts! I only have one more to get before my set is "complete" and that's Push Pull/Super Sets. I may end up getting Low Impact Step, but it's not "needed", you know? I love KPC...oh and it's got a killer ab section!!!}(

Speaking of abs, man, mine are talking to me about yesterday! Especially my obliques!

I've got to get going and cleaned up before the appt. I will let you all know how it went and I hope that I can keep my composure for the appt and not burst into tears for NO reason! I may also ask her about a nutritionist/sports nutritionist as well. It can't hurt to ask, right?

Oh, forgot to mention that I'm going to be doing Cardio Fusion with Cheryl today.;-)

Cheryl;FYI... I immediately thought of you when I heard about the shooting - Even DH asked about you when he got home from work... (guess he IS paying attention!) ... Anyway... I am so sorry your community is going thru that nightmare. It rocks everyones world when its so close to home and in a mall no less where you may spend alot of your time. Prayers for healing to the community and families of all involved.

AMY: Fingers crossed that doc is able to give you some hope & insight.... its sometimes a long road. {{{AMY}}} Have a wonderful time with Cardio Fusion! PERFECT for you cardio junkies!:p

Good Morning....Traci, your comment on 3 good weeks, I am not sure that sounded so good?? It's true, but the way you put it, it was kinda eye-opening!!

Did you see the post about not getting the results she desired in the Ask Cathe Forum?? She talked about doing an hour of cardio a day?? I do not do that much, but I try to do at least a 1/2 hour everyday, and an hour 3 times or so a week. I hate cardio. The one lady poted that she was 44, I am 43, and she had great results with less cardio. I would so like to try that, but I feel I would balloon out worse if I did less cardio?? I am more of an endomorph who gains fat EASILY, unfortunately. Would you guys give me your expert opinions??

I will check back later. I am taking my daughter to the Mall to get a V-day present for her boyfriend.

LoriS:
Oh I hope I didnt offend about the 3 good weeks! You know I just blurt out stuff based on my own crazy body!
On the cardio... All I can tell you is what has worked for me.(44 next month) Did 8 months of excessive cardio with few results in fat / wt loss. Switched to less cardio + lifting (not circuits) P90X is 3 days lifting heavy and 2 days 45 minute cardio & 1 yoga day & 1 rest day. BF dropped and wt dropped dramatically. After 12 weeks of that I switched it up again to daily 40 minute cardio 5 days plus heavy strength training 1 body part a day about 30 minutes. My weight is dropping as is BF. I will never overload my body on cardio again but it has to be substituted with concentrated and consistent strength training to develop the muscle so you can burn fat. All I can say is if what you've been doing isnt working change the plan and stick with it for a month and see what happens. When I started lifting more it took about 6 weeks to see scale changes as muscles hang onto water as they start to grow.
HTH... & remember its just my personal experience.

Oh Tracy, you did not offend me!! It is just sad to think you have 3 good weeks a month, and 1 bad, but it is so true!!

I might try this starting next week. I have been very unconsistent with my roitations lately!!

Hi everyone,

Feeling super lousy today so I don't think I will be doing much. I went to bed at 11 but couldn't get to sleep, finally fell asleep around 12 and the baby was up at 2...then i couldn't get back to sleep again! When the baby woke up at 8:45 we got him dressed and DH took him to work. I then crawled back into bed until 11:30.
A part of me would like to try and workout though b/c in the past the cold never stuck with me much b/c I would sweat it out. But this is a nasty one! The good thing is my appetite isn't #1 either so atleast my diet won't go out the window cause that can happen when Im not feeling the best. And I can't take anything either b/c I am breastfeeding.
So we aren't doing anything tonight either. The restaurant that we wanted to go to was all booked up so I think we will go another night this week. I even had my milk pumped off!
Anyway, hopefully I will be feeling better tomorrow. But I will check in later.
Lori:)

Hi again, everyone!

The partner called all chipper and happy as punch and asked if we could postpone our discussion to 4:00 this afternoon. That's fine with me - so I'm here at the office. No news yet. I will definitely post about how it goes.

Lori, so sorry you are feeling so terrible!!! Aaagh, no fun.

I just heard from a dear friend a little older than me from my former neighborhood (pre divorce). She wanted to let me know that based on being very inspired by my running she took it up and has now run 2 marathon and 2 halves!! With trepidation, I asked her how her overall fitness and weightloss goals were doing. Not well. I am afraid more than a few people followed my bad example and bought into the thinking that you could just run longer, run harder and would get skinny and fit.

So I've talked her into some cross training with weights, some real attention to clean eating and unprocessed foods, and some careful protection of her thyroid and adrenal system (through diet and through timing of workouts/eating to not "crash" on the system needlessly). She and I will probably get together.

It's nice to have inspired her to new things, but it pains me to think how many people may have been taken in by my bad example decisions and I don't want them to have to pay the consequences and learn the hard way, like I did!!

:p }( }( :p

Back to work! More later!
Cheryl

Good afternoon, ladies!

I just got back from the Doctor's as well as some other errands. It went very well and she was very receptive to some of the things that I had found out on my own and didn't have any problems whatsoever in ordering the hormone levels! In fact, she told me that if there were something that I wanted to check but she hadn't added to the order sheet for me to go ahead and add it! My weight this morning was exactly what it was when I was there last about 10 months ago! When I explained to her my eating and workouts, she agreed that something wasn't right, that my weight should be less. Anyway, she also wants me back there in 3 weeks, so we'll see about the lab results. She's also okay with putting a referral in for a nutritionist if the hormones come back normal.

I am going to get something to eat, maybe snooze a bit (didn't sleep well last night) then workout!

DH gave me an adorable card as well as a very pretty sapphire pendant for V-Day. He got a card, some white chocolate truffles (don't do white chocolate, so that's safe to have in the house!) and a raspberry white chocolate chip cookie the size of my hand!

Hi, everyone!

I checked back in to see if there was news on Amy's Dr. appointment yet. It sounds like it went really well. I am so glad!!! Sounds like
this Dr. is right on the money and will be some big help.

DH and Ihttp://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1344/4791873/11197439/230492093.jpg agreed no V-day presents - but I did something fun and with a portion of the money I'm getting from the 6 pairs of Lucky jeans I'm selling on eBay I ordered this, for $46 (shipping included) suggested retail $79:

Very fun! What I love most is that I only paid some $10 a pair for all those Lucky's in the first place on eBay... so basically I used them for free for a year and now am selling them back in for exactly what I paid for them...

Of course the bad news is that eBay makes it very easy to get more fatter pants if you need them, real cheap... but I won't do it! I won't!

Have a great afternoon, everyone - will check back in tonight after the partner discussion... sigh...

Cheryl

Gidget: So sorry you are down & out! Take it easy & take care of yourself!!

Cheryl: Fingers & Toes crossed for your meeting... Was that "strategy" on her part? On the running stuff... you are too hard on yourself! People will always try and mimic whatever they perceive as successful in health & fitness arena... Eventually we all have to find our own way and best method that fills our needs. You are not responsible for taking care of all those bodies! You are a wonderful role model... always searching for the healthiest options. Necklace is a beauty!!! Stunning! Thats incredible about the $$ on jeans... I guess I have to learn to love ebay!

AMY: Oh I am so happy your doc was responsive! Thats a step in the right direction girl! How sweet of DH! I told mine if he did anything remotely like sweets I was gonna "hold out" for 2 weeks! Hence the inedible bike! lololol

Hope the rest of gang is doing well today..... Thinking of Claude... Maybe shes putting together her new workout room !!

Teddygirl on snow day????

Hi to Lori jane & Belinda this afternoon!:7

Hey there Traci!!! I'm doing well..just finished a steady state 50 min TM run. I'm doing very well on controlling eating (I posted one of my srategies on the Daily checkin this morning:+ )

Cheryl - I thought of you too when I heard about that Utah mall shooting. Unbelievable...

Amy - glad you had a good visit at the dr and are hot on the investigation trail.

Everyone else have a great afternoon. I have to get the barn and feed the horses and I'm making salmon tonight so I need to get to it!

Everyone, the meeting is OVER and it went WELL. The partner was willing to separate our interests, but more concerned about putting a public face on the outcome that doesn't affect her - i.e. positioning the two resulting entities as complementary agencies under the same umbrella. That's the best possible news.

More tomorrow, but just wanted to thank all of you for your thoughts and your prayers!!!

xoxoxo,
Cheryl
