Hi gang!
PMS officially started today! Wide awake at 2:15am.... Let the games begin!!
Today is Back & Bi.... for the last time I LOVE the guns in this one! DH & I set up my Home/Door Gym (Altus Home Gym) last night so back will be an all new experience... The cables on this thing are absolutely incredible. DH couldnt do a tricep pull down with the tension rigged at max. LOTS of room to play & grow. I bet my back will be ultra sore today! REALLY looking forwrad to the extra challenge!

Back with yesterday personals later after I get more java!

Good Morning, My early bird, friend!!

I don't know about PMS, but I have been wide awake since about 0315! Laid in the bed for 50 min trying to fall back asleep because there is lots I want to get done today and DH is leaving before 1100. No such luck! ARGH!!!x( Anyway, in hopes of heading back for a snooze soon, I am not into the java, but mint herbal tea is my game for now.

Today is BootCamp! I am a little scared of this workout as I have yet to do the thing as written. I have done Terminator, so I sort of have an idea of what to expect. Then, if I am up to it afterwards, I may attempt GS Chest/Tris, but we'll see about that!

I think that PMS may be kicking in because I was like a bloodhound last night in search of sweets! I have some of Erin Baker's Breakfast cookies (all natural, sweetened with prune puree and cane juice, high fiber, low fat) that I munched on to sooth the savage beast! They are about as clean as Tosca's Oatmeal cookies and come in tons of flavors (chocolate was the name of the game last night!).

I am going to check out Traci's gym and ooh and aah over that!

I hope that everyone else is sleeping (but us chickens, huh, Traci!!).

Vaguely remembers DH telling me that the elliptical trainer will arrive today between 2 and 5 this afternoon! I hope that I am able to stay awake for the arrival as well as concentrate on the directions! I am thankful, though that I am not only mechanically inclined, but able and willing to read the assembly directions!!!}( ;-) :p :+

Monday Scoop Personals:

Claude: Waving hello!!! ~~~~~~

Oh Cheryl & Tgirl... what sweet things to say.... I have often thought about writing throughout my life but just dont know what to write about really... If I could be a Dear Abby I'd be in heaven!

LORI: Welcome home! You poor thing w/ the flu.... What a terrible thought missing all the festivities while sitting in the john! I sure hope you are taking care of yourself now that you're home. Hope last nights jewelry show was very successful!

AMY: Hope you are back asleep! Thanks for keeping me company this very early morning! What a pal! Tell DH to be careful! You are really doing great with all the weight work! ^^^^5 on continually pushing to the next level. You'll have a great time with BootCamp ... ok maybe not EVERY MINUTE of it as it has zingers for sure, but if you've been doing terminator.... I realy think you'll amaze yourself! I'm going to throw it in next Monday on my recovery week which is Cardio/Ab focused. I miss it like an old comfy shoe! My shopping expedition was uneventful.... Tried on 8 pairs of jeans and none to my fancy... Guess I have to bite the $$ bullet and head to GAP today. Men's gap Button Fly relaxed fit... ahhhhhhhhh Dont know if they even make them anymore tho as its been 3 years since I've chosen to invest in jeans because of weight.

TeddyGirl: I say we get you a job promoting Cathe Workouts! You FALL hard for them once you do one and it makes me want to dig out whatever you're talking about! Somehow I just dont get the same HIGH you do when it comes to pain! Sorry on Cardio Kicks... I only have the DVD. Now I do have duplicates on VHS if you'd like any... PS series, Power Circuit (CTX), Power Max (golden oldie), MIS.

CHERYL: lol... You sound like me... Got all the workouts but some I have never done! I've never done 75% of them "as produced" as I love premixes... SSets, MMax, MEnd, PP... always added 1 part to my 1 body part daily rotations... A whole world of workouts that are waiting for me! Your BF drop is impressive! Whatever nutrients you are giving your body is really perfect for you. Do you track nutrients? What is your current tracking method these days BTW? I guess we all know that I AM not doing WW so I guess the sky wont fall if we all share!

JANE: whewwwwwwww What a relief about your dad & HIS relief! What a wonderful day for all concerned I'm sure! So happy you have your much deserved day off today - Good for you getting your mamm..... Truth be told I havent seen a OB/GYN in 5 years....I know, I know playing Russiona Roulette..... Hope your marathon w/o yesterday brings many many DOMS

Great day to all!

Gooood Moooorning -

I'm up early today. Waiting on a client to get back comments on a press release that they critically want to post before the market opens today, which would be before 7 a.m. Still no word. Long story, but we've really earned our money as an agency on this one.

Ah well. I was about to get up in another hour anyway.

Amy, the elliptical sounds like fun! Will someone help you assemble it? I hope so. I'm so sold on my treadmill... but friends who have ellipticals really enjoy them. I hope it'll be just.

Teddygirl, I'm sending you good vibes on BootCamp. I still don't do the termnators with my hands all the way down to the floor. I put them down to the step :) Except for that, love the workout as written.

Traci, what fun that you're contemplating some jeans shopping. I always liked those same Gap jeans too. I did something really fun last night and went through my closet trying on clothes. It was so much fun. My adored Nordstrom suit, vanity sized 2, fits like a dream again. My Gap white pants, size 4, are now loose enough to wear with anything I want. I also found a great pair of black Lucky's I didn't realize I had, size 4 slim fit and very long (slits up the last 4 inches of the legs, which just about touch the floor). Very cute. I think I'll wear those to work today.

There are still a few things in my closet that are smaller than I am and will require me getting all the way down to 118-120 to wear. But the vast majority of the clothes I have now fit as intended. Now there's motivation for another 1-2 months! :) :)

Today will be GS chest and tri's plus some cardio add on.

Will borrow DH's iPod for the treadmill. My new one came yesterday, but it has no music on it yet. We had a big computer fiasco Sunday nite and still trying to get that computer repaired. Aaagh, what a week for repairs. The washing machine is out too, but will be repaired this afternoon.

Well, on to the day. Will check back in a little later to see what everyone's up to.

Have a wonderful morning!!!
Cheryl

Good morning fellow WWer's....

The scale on my unofficial (but official home) weigh-in this morning was up 3.5#. Egads! I'm not surprised though after what I consumed Friday through Sunday. I need to lock myself away in a dark closet at these times. I read the book YOU on a Diet which explains why these things happen (hormonal, etc.) but I can't quite figure out how to control it. Any ideas? I've tried eating nuts (as recommended by the book) at those times to encourage the release of leptin (satiety hormone) but no dice... I usually end up eating the whole can. I'd be a millionaire if I could figure this out and market it!

The good news is MIC did wonders for my "feeling of fitness" yesterday and DrillMax is on tap for this morning (off today for my comp day) so damage control is in process.

Traci - your Door Gym look great! I bet it will take your workouts to new heights! Oh my, oh my --- Traci, find a GYN now please. It is so important to keep up with your exams (Pap smear and mammogram) especially at our age! My mama was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 59 and she will be 72 this year and still healthy. I feel very passionate about this, it is so essential to our health!! Okay, **step off soapbox now**!!

Amy - BC is an incredible workout and it seems to go by so fast, I think because of how it is broken down into cycles. I just love it. I have it on the rotation for Thursday I think. Where do you get those breakfast cookies... they sound fabulous! WOOHOO on the elliptical!!!! I want to add another piece of equipment to my gym at the end of this year. I bought my TM in November. I'm torn between an elliptical and a stationary bike. What do you think?

Cheryl - OHHH what a fun time.... finding a "new" wardrobe in your old wardrobe, how exciting. I LOVE my IPOD, I have my Cardio Coaches on it now but need to sit down and get some music loaded one of these years when I actually have some time.

Off to do DrillMax and then start my day. Have a good one everybody!!

Hello to teddygirl, Jennifer (I hope you are feeling better), Lori, and Claude.

Morning Pop in ...waiting for breakfast to settle before attacking Back & Biceps. Completed A Cathe Ab Marathon... Just as Tough as Ab Ripper X and many of same moves...

Heres how I did it (I'm on fire right now!)
*BootCamp Core Only w/ Medicine Ball : 13 min
*PUB w/ Stability Ball: 8 min
*MEnd w/ Medicine Ball: 10 min
*KPC w/ Stability Ball: 7 min
Approximate: 38 minutes
I also think you could throw MMax abs in and replace one of the others for a few different moves as BC & ME are similar and KPC & PUB are similar.

Hi to Cheryl & Jane!! We are early birds today arent we???
:7 JANE: Sorry about scale increase but good word is that its almost guranteed its not all fat... ya just gotta "deflate" a bit! I wish I had the magic answer for you in terms of handling the hormone cravings.. For first time in months I was "seeing" chocolate while watching TV... house is clean - thats all I can say that saves me sometimes... that & something hot to sip on. i appreciate your "soapbox"... I know its not smart... just really rarely crosses my mind. I need to get into the do it in birthday month. Thats coming up in March so lets see if I will make that happen. Your past 2 day workouts are just killer! That bloat will be gone in no time at all!

:7 Cheryl: I wanna come raid your closet!!! You have all the wonderful clothes that would motivate me as well!Hope your client got on the ball! Some of them really make you feel like you need to raise those fees! GREAT idea about BC Terminators w/ hands on step... Thats what I'm going to try next week! Thanks for the tip!!
LOl on trying on clothes... Its on my list for this week... Just pulling out the entire wardrobe & trying EVERYTHING on... Box 1: Too Big.... Box 2: giveaway for WHATEVER reason.... BOX 3: GOAL box!
I gotta get a few CDs put into my ipod... also on the to do list...
Enjoy your GS & Cardio I know you love it!

Great Morning gang!!!

Good Morning everyone....I actually had cereal this morning, and I am drinking a cup of coffee. I think I am on the mend. I may even attempt some light cardio today.

My jewelry show called and cancelled last night. Truthfully, I was glad. I still felt terrible last night. I have another one tonight. I will be much more up for it tonight!!

I hope everyone has a good day. I am going to WI tomorrow. Hopefully it will be good, it should be!!
Lori

Back again -

Aaagh, Jane, I feel for you - it's the theme of my life! Can't all be fat, but discouraging just the same. Salt, fluid, hormones... Do you have a way to measure bf%? That's the one thing keeping me sane right now. If bf holds or is progressing downward, you have a better picture of where things really stand. Anyway, you have my mercy today. It'll be okay. Drill Max fixes all!! :) :)

Just finished GS Chest and Tri's followed by 45 min TM program, level 9. Just enough! I think TOM is starting - probably explains why the scale has stayed level the past 4 days in spite of all my hard work.

Traci, I forgot to answer you on nutrition tracking. WW only tracks points. The think I don't like about their interface (or their program) is that the only way they qualify the calories is that high fiber unprocessed food gives you more for your points. No nutrition measurement. but I do like that you see the activity level and the food reports from the same page.

I have just started this week tracking on SparkPeople as well. If I can get used to it and like it well enough, it's free and I may transfer over. What I really like about SparkPeople is that you have a precise calorie count and it gives you a table and a pie chart each day of protein, fat and carbs. In just 3 days I've come to realize that my carbs are perfect but that I'm on the very low end for protein. I've read research that you don't need as much proteins as nutritionists traditionally think you do if you're eating a predominantly plant based diet. But that tells me that I need to pump those egg whites, soon as they come. I've learned something new already.

Well, on to the day. Will weigh in, just for grins.

Teddygirl, how are you doing today?

Claude - is everything okay?

Amy - glad you're up and going with us. We're headed for a very good day!

Cheryl

Scale weight back down today, to 126.8. OH YEAH!!! I feel like TOM is about to start - I'm sure that's why scale weight held a bit up the past 3-4 days. I'll take it.

Happy dance, happy dance!

Cheryl

:) Hi Lori! Oh I'm so happy you are feeling better and able to eat to rebuild your strength & stamina! Fingers crossed for terrific WI tomorrow!

:) Hi again Cheryl!: I track on Sprakspeople as well.... finding REALLY interesting trends since eating Tosca Plan the past week. I am a bit surprised because my foods havent really changed but how I eat is whats changed. For instance during my 3 weel stall in the 130's my protein was below 30% every day and carbs were high (for me) 40-55 and my fats were in the 40's & Fiber less than 30 grams..... Since Tosca Plan - same foods just different ratios my weight has been steady between 127-128... Carbs 30-35% / Proteins 30-42% / fats 25% or less & Fiber 30-42 grams a day. INTRIGUING! ^^^^^^^^^5 on scale! AWESOME makes ttom almost worth it!

Off to get my last workout of day in and then I'm all caught up!

Hope everyone is well!
:)

Wow, Traci, so interesting that you're using SparkPeople too.
My carbs are at 50-55% - great -
Fats at 33-39% - a tad high, but almost 100% healthy fats
Proteins have been less than 20% Oops! Didn't realize. I thought I was higher than that.

I haven't found the fiber measurement yet. Will have to dig a little deeper. I think I'm okay on that front.

Ah, the things we learn. Onward and upward!

Good luck with that last workout - don't know how you do it - I don't think I could face the shower and cleanup more than once in a day!!
:)

Cheryl

Cheryl:
On the Nutrition page log for the day scroll down.
To the left of "see Todays full report" is the fiber breakdown. I cant find where it shows as % but its good to see grams since that helps me see that my carbs are truly of value! 20% protein??? Omg - I dont know how you do it on that... I guess all bodies are different. My bet is that as you UP that your bodyfat will plummett even further since thats what muscles eat on!

Hello again, all! I was able to snooze again, but not great quality and not a long time. DH is packing up to head out soon.

Cheryl- I have been tracking in SP since September and only using the Daily Reports for the last week or so. If you want to track fiber, you need to go back to the "Change Diet Goals" and when you go through there is a spot where you can add other nutrients to track. My personal ones are sodium, calcium, and fiber. I have been advocating SP here for several months because of the range of calories and it being able to take your fitness level/calories burned into account in that caloric range!!! Great job on the BF% AND the scale!!! Up that protein, girl!!!

Jane- Here's the link for the breakfast cookies:
http://www.bbcookies.com/pages/Products/BBC/BBC_home.html
I love them and just found them in my freezer from when I bought a year ago December! They are super moist and was a great craving killer for me last night!!!

Traci- I hope that you are able to get through all your scheduled workouts today! I still have to eat something (I know, I know) today! So I am going to do that and then try to crack out Boot Camp! I want to get the workout it before they deliver the elliptical this afternoon, but on the other hand, it may be safer to wait until AFTER they deliver it so they don't catch me in my workout wear (shorts/sports bra)...it's a better view than it used to be, but still not up to "public" viewing!!!;-)

Lori- I am sorry that you were sick! I didn't even realize that you were! I am glad that you are starting to feel better, but take it easy, PLEASE!!!

Okay- bulghar wheat cereal is cooked and I am going to chow, now!

Amy, Traci - thanks so much for the input on Spark People.

Here's something I just found that I really DON'T like - on the weight workout days it forces you to add what exercise you did and for how many sets.... I can't find a way to do what you do in WW and enter "strength training, free weights, vigorous effort" and have it record and assign you 2 activity points for the day.

I know I won't take the time to enter the weight workouts in that level of detail. I might still be willing to go with Spark People for the nutrition breakdown, though. (and the weightloss progress reports)

I am actually using Cathe's calendar as a kind of workout log - not using the stamps, just writing in what I did and for what period of time. The nice thing about that is that it shows me at a glance where my last rest day was and how well I'm doing at incorporating all the weight work for the different bodyparts through the week.

I am also totalling the time spent working out at the end of each week. That's been an eye-opener. I would have guessed 10-12 hours. It's been 9 1/2, 7 1/2, 9 1/2 for the three weeks of January so far. So markedly less on the week I was feeling under the weather ... (by about 1400 calories!) and not into the "freakish" zone I was afraid I was hitting where you've just trained your body to need 12+ hours of exercise a week just to maintain metabolism status quo. That was enlightening!

Well, back to work. Sigh.

Cheryl

Hey

It’s a mad house here, I just got in about an hour ago. I had a doctor appointment. check back later

Teddygirl~

Cheryl- I don't go into that level of detail when I enter my weight work. I just click the box next to the activity and I really don't care the number of reps/sets they say I do, as long as I enter the exercises that I do, I'm happy. I add the cardio in based on what my HRM tallies.

TG- I hope is settles down for you!

Afternoon,

I’m going to caught up with everyone's personal later or tomorrow x(

Traci: thank you, now if had CK on vhs than I’d be more then happy to have it, the others you named I have em :) :) :) You are to kind

Cheryl:- that was the lovely Ms Amy BC w/o :7 :7

Last night, legs & glutes that workout has gotten easier, but I still struggled through a few:D I think I ‘ JUST’ may take a rest day today. I shall see once I get home tonight. I did not get much sleep WORRIED about what my doc was going to tell me, from what he said today there’s hope :) :) :) :) First process, was given another 7 tubes of blood x( Chat later :)

Teddygirl~

Oooops! Amy, how did Boot Camp treat you today???

Teddygirl, I'm not sure if I've tried Legs and Glutes yet... I'd have to check my Cathe calendar.... but it sounds like a doozy. Glad the doc visit went well, and looking forward to details!

Amy, thanks so much for the hints on SparkPeople. Worked much better, and I am liking it much better. Looks like I'm okay on fiber (I thought so) but it's the protein consumption (or lack thereof) that's smacking me in the face. Guess I know what I need to fix! :)

Ah, well.

Enjoy that work, T-Girl! Almost time to go home. I am leaving early to go to a client meeting.

The Client from Hades has come around this morning and the big news will hit the newswire in another 1 1/2 hours. At last! I'll tell you all what it is tomorrow (not that it's THAT interesting to folks outside of the technology world!!) :0 :p }(

Have a great afternoon, everyone!
Cheryl

Cheryl: come on now, sure you’ve done legs & glutes before, its probably 2 yrs old, don't remember when Cathe released it. But, it is a toughie. Me me me x( needing L&G on DVD awesomeeeeee kick butt premixes………:p :p

I have to tell you guys, after I left doctor office, I drove to JCP, my girlfriend insisted that I come. Anyway, I lucked up on three BAD jean skirts, two are merrmaid style, one’s dem and the other is all velvet. The third one is called pencil skirt, this one falls a little pass my knees, zips from the side by knee, its really sharp.

I didn’t stop there I brought a pair of stretch black jeans and a long black blouse, that looks like a dress, I always wanted one, it pretty cute.

When time for the nurse to weigh me, of course, I told her I didn’t want to see results, so kept my eyes closed. All that, return to front desk to give nurse blood work papers and make appt, what cha know, I glanced at paper work in my hand and my weight was the first thing I seen. But you know what, I’m pleased, b/c I had on clothes and my boots when I stepped on scale. Just though I share,
:D :D :D
