Weight Watchers CheckIn 10/4 Wednesday!!!!

Jane, I don't go to meetings, but, I was reading in the weight watcher's forum that the 4 AP max has been changed by WW and it no longer applies. The current Flex Plan allows you to use as many AP's as you earn.

Anyone else hear this?

Buffy

Amy; YOU are a MACHINE today!!!!!! Added core as well........oh my You must be eating your wheaties;-)
As far as the "faux french toast"... my DH thought I ate weird stuff before just wait til I whip that one up! STRANGE!:7

Kirsten- You are so correct: 7 Aps eaten up in Ding Dongs is far different than 7 points eaten up in Protein/Healthy Carb/Healthy Fat
.... at least in my weight loss:+

Buffy,

Yes, that is my understanding (that it was part of a previous plan and is still "floating around").

My leader is very fit and exercises often so she totally speaks to earning and eating all AP's.

I wonder sometimes if the fitness level of the leader influences how they feel about earning and eating AP's? Any thoughts??

I agree with fueling your body for the grueling workouts we do. I know there is a real danger in undereating when you are working out like we do. I will go with how I feel and if I earn 7 to 9 points doing hour to hour and a half circuits/interval work and I feel I need to eat the points, I'll eat them.

Thanks for the clarification everyone.

Jane- when I went to WW meetings when the flex plan first came out (the one with the daily point range) they mandated that you only eat a maximum of 4 APs. I think that when they re-vamped the program for the current one, they realized that there were those of us that have gotten into fitness (vs strictly weight loss) and are earning an average of about 8 APs per day, which puts those people is SERIOUS caloric deficit! From personal experience, I stayed in the mandated WW target points and only used a few flexies per week for MONTHS without seeing any results whatsoever (just ask Traci how frustrated I was getting!). Anyway, since I have started eating all my APs (average 35-45/week), I have seen a marked increase in definition, a smaller me, and (finally) a downward motion of the scale!! It definitely makes staying OP a lot easier knowing that I have another 7-9 points I can eat, especially when I am starving!!! In fact, if you think about it, 1 point is approx 50 calories, right? They figure it takes burning 100 cal to earn 1 AP, so technically, you are still in a 50 calorie deficit even if you eat your APs, right?

I think that you are right that the rumor is still floating around and it all depends on what type of leader you have. I love my leader, but she is a self-proclaimed Non-exerciser and actually made Lifetime having never done exercise! (and she looks it;) ) When she asks me how many APs I earn, she is dumb-founded and asks, "Why?"

Anyway, sorry for the soapbox, but's it's been a sore spot for me since last January (when the MAJOR plateau started!)

Traci- I don't know about Machine, per se, after a while, my brain and body were numb, so it was easy to just keep going!;-) ;-) :p

Hey girls. :)

Back for a late check in. I did really well today. Given that this week is TOM, I am super happy to have jumped back on the WW/Exercise wagon.

I must say, I am soooo glad to be back. I almost forgot how much better I feel when I eat like I have some sense and get a workout in. :7 Tonight was some of Low Max (I am SERIOUSLY choreography challenged and on the advice of another Catheite I am taking it one interval at a time). I then did the FIRM's Cardio Sculpt Blaster because I know it by heart.

Amy, no soapbox. That is the one thing has irritates me about WW as well. I come across folks each and every day who have no interest in moving at all and then they wonder why they wear 2 sizes larger than someone who weighs the same amount.

Well, time to clean up the kitchen from dinner and take my doggies for a walk. Y'all have a great night! :)

Amy, you are right and even though I am doing WW now, I am still going to apply what I learned zigzagging because you simply cannot survive restricting yourself to 4 AP a day, not and exercise like we do.

Traci - Thanks for the am WO tips ... I'm either going to WO right in the morning or right away after work. I'll see tomorrow, but the game plan is KPC, love that WO, so I know I will do it no matter what. And I missed you guys too, this forum keeps me honest :), and trust me, I need smtg to keep me honest, hehehe.

Jane - I never heard about just eating max 4 APs, but it sounds interesting. I go with a friend to WW and she never believes me when I say how many APs I get in a day. It use to bother me, but now I just shrug it off.

Sandra - I hope your cold goes away. Aren't they annoying :(. I read that you are also studying, just curious what you are studying (sorry if u already said it, I've been gone for awhile :( ) cuz I am also in school. Right now I am working because I am a co-op student, but I still have 2 years to complete my bachelor's, and I cannot wait to be finished!!! Also, thanks for the heads up on the open discussion, I'm going to check that out, cuz I sure need some motivation to get to my goal!!!

Kim - I also get super cranky when I go too restrictive on my diet. It usually happens when I cut down on the carbs. I also am always freezing and my nails sometimes go blue. It freaks me out, but it's a sign my body gives me to say I am not eating enuff.

Jennifer - Have a great work trip! And you are amazing for all the running you do :)!!!

Buffy - Give yourself a break!!! You deserve it!!! But I understand, when you exercise everyday and don't for a few days in a row, u start feeling guilty!

Claude - Good luck with stairs after doing GS legs. I hate stairs after that WO, lol!!!

Amy - The side effects are very painful. I remember whenever my dad had to go to the washroom (he had a cathader(i soooo spelt that wrong :( sorry)) I would be in pain watching him. Once I actually had to leave the room crying cuz I saw how much pain he was in. But that lasted a few weeks, and my papa was serioulsy back to work in 2 months after his surgery. He was allowed to take a full year off, but he healed so fast and has a lot of pride in his work, that he wanted to go back as soon as possible. A side effect tho of that surgery is to have to keep the cathader forever, and thank goodness he was free of that stupid bag in the span of a month I believe. It was such a hard time though, my papa was released from the hospital a Friday night, and my grandfather (his Father) died Saturday night. My Grandfather was sick b4 his surgery, and my papa only told him about his cancer last minute, cuz he knew he would be worried, but he wanted to tell him so he would know why he wasn't visiting him everyday. It was the roughest month my family ever went thru. I remember the night my grandfather died, and I just looked at my BF and just burst into tears, it was too much all at once. But today, my papa is healthy :) and my grandfather is truly missed, but he did have a liver problem, so it was prolly for the best that he died so quickly and didn't have to suffer. (sooo sorry for the novel, lol)

Geez, sorry for this huge post, we are just soo many ppl now that I just have so much to say! Eating was good today, but I have room for improvement (it's a nice way to say it!) I'll be back on tomorrow!

Corinne :)

Corinne - If you had told me two years ago that I would be getting up at 5 am to workout, I would have thought you were crazy. When I made the committment to lose weight, I knew I needed to work out so this is what I did.

I started by getting up 10 min earlier and doing a little bit; after a few weeks it was 20 min earlier, then a few months later it was 30 min earlier and then it was 45 min earlier. Then I saw a Cathe workout on FitTV (Imax2) and couldn't wait to get up and do that one.

Anywhoo, maybe you could try gradually backing up your wake up time, doing stretches or ab work at first, until you have enough time for a short workout, then next thing you know, you'll be up at 5am with the rest of us!!

Sandra/Kim - I used to get hungry all the time and I agree, Kim, veggies don't cut it. I found that I need more than just one snack, I need several. The snacks fill me up more if they have carbs and protein so I snack on
- 1 pt yogurts
- 1 laughing cow cheese wedge with veggies (I kind of use it as a dip)
- apples with PB (as long as not in a PB crazy mode, then I have to stay away from the PB)
- veggie soup goes a lot further with me than just plain veggies
- those 1 pt vitamuffins are a new favorite (I like them best when I warm them up a bit in the microwave).

I also found that if I add more veggies to my meals, the meals tend to hold me over longer. Well that's what works for me. Hope some of the ideas we've thrown out help.

Claude
