Weight Watchers Check In : 12/7 THURSDAY

Ok: Yesterday I did make it through P90X Core Syn but gotta tell ya that I struggled GREATLY! I know its because I was sick Monday and started ttom on Tuesday but STILL.geeeeeeeez
I could tell I was much stronger but my endurance was off the mark. I was dripping buckets, my heartrate felt through the roof, I was lightheaded and yet I only burned 269 calories for 50 minutes. Those are the days I just keep saying GOOD JOB for completing the workout.

Anyway. Hopefully today I will have some endurance & energy to accomplish my goals.
My Absolute Must Do: P90X Cardio X + Ab Ripper
My planned add-ons: Floorwork GS Legs + BM2 Cardio Blast Premix

WI tomorrow- scale currently up 2#s from yesterdayx( x(

ON TO BRIGHTER NOTES!!!

Claude: Hope shes having a romantic morning with breakfast in bed... wondering what time she'll drink her first glass of Vino..... That woman works so hard I am excited for her down time w/ DH! I'll live vicariously through her!!!!

JANE: How did GSL go???? I cracked up - you never came back to board and I had visions of you crawling trying to get to computer after workout!:7

AMY: ohhhhhhhhhhhh-ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh THANKS FOR RECIPE... already printed and will be cooked for weekend meals... You are a sweetie!
BTW: What do you do with all your lemons??? I just keep juicing & freezing and giving away.... I am making 3 types of lemon desserts for my in law party that uses a bit but gosh.... what does a girl do w/ 200 lemons in her backyard?????

Happy day to all that follow! We are in the heart of holiday season so chins up and be on the lookout for obstacles... "Put on your gameface";-)..... FOCUS... STAY TRUE TO THE GOAL... and if you over indulge... OH WELL! Life is meant to be good!
;-)

Traci - LOL... no, I was fine after GSL. I am having problems finding time to get everything done and unfortunately my time on the computer suffers because of it. I'll have to catch up this evening hopefully. Oh... I was looking at the Dec rotation and I think I'm going to bump it up a little on days that I have the time (I try not let things like housecleaning, etc, interfere with my workout time!!!) Instead of doing the timesaver cardio on DM like the rotation calls for today, I believe I'll do the Ultra cardio one (62 minutes versus 47 minutes). I'm going to need the extra burn, I got into the ice cream AGAIN last night. Thank goodness it's gone now. It is Edy's no-sugar added but still.....

Have a good one folks... need to get some breakfast and then back to work.

Good Morning!

Okay, I am totally feeling the DOMs from KenpoX! Lats, back, shoulders! YUM! Yes, we're sick individuals! Somehow I never thought that I would get DOMS from a cardio workout! How anyone does that with the weighted gloves, I'll never know!!!

Anyway-

Jane- Sorry to hear about the ice cream. I had an out-of-body experience with Edy's the other night! Glad GSL went well. That's on my wish list and probably will remain there until after the holidays!

Traci- Sorry you were struggling yesterday. You are too hard on yourself! I seem to remember someone (who shall remain nameless;-) ) yelling at me for being too hard on myself when I was recovering from the flu last month!!???!?!?!? Take a dose of your own medicine, woman!
Okay, I have done my "nurse-y" duty for the day.... On to the lemon question. We have YET to find an outlet for all our lemons. I think that sometime next week we are going to box a lot of them up and ship them to family members in Chicago. It's either that, or I take bags and bags of them to work.

I hope that Claude is enjoying her truly deserved mini-vacation!!!

I hope that everyone else has a good day. Tonight is WI, but I have yet to decide whether or not I will be driving across town for yet another meeting that I don't get anything out of (when you go solidly for 2+ years, and has done as much reading/research/self realization as I have, somehow talking about taking your own veggie tray to a potluck so you'll have something to eat there just doesn't cut it anymore!!).

Speaking of reading, I picked up the YOU book and started reading it last night. So far, I haven't gotten any more information than what I gleaned from the rave reviews here, but it's still a really good read and great information! (lot's better than the veggie tray!!!);-)

Jane: So happy you are not just alive & well after GSL BUT so strong that you are doing MEGA MAX Cardio! You have a very strong body!!!!

AMY: Shipping lemons??? OK - I'm dumb... do you have to do something special so they dont rot or squish? If its a no brainer (& cheap) then I can ship some to my family in CA!!!! You always have such
mah-va-lous ideas.... Your bedside manner leaves a little to be desired tho!:p :p :p :p Do you not understand that I simply cannot take my own advise? lol... Thank you for "wagging your finger" at me... I needed it! Will do my P90X plan and call it a good day!

I don't know how much it will be to ship the lemons, but I can't imagine it being that difficult. We tend to collect boxes, bubble wrap, air pockets and styrofoam peanuts like they are going out of style! I am sure that between DH and I we can come up with a "safe" shipping method!

YEA!!! I just got all my Christmas shopping done!!! All the coffee/tea/pecans are ordered and the shipping is up to the respective companies now!! That and DH just told me what he wants for Christmas....a new "fancy" rear view mirror for the truck. SO, my work here is complete!(sigh)

Now, I just need to get off my keaster and clean the house for Mom and Dad...oh yeah, they won't be here until the 22nd....I can do it next week!;-) }( :+ :7 :p

Good Morning everyone....Amy, thanks for that recipe. I am printing it off right now, and going to the grocery store today. I have one question(I do not like to cook): What is it to 'deglaze the pan with wine?' Can I do it with chicken broth, or water instead??

My workout today will be UB from ME, & BC, and my CC #1. I did #2 yesterday, and I was dripping in sweat. I put my incline at 10% for those hills, and over 4 mph, and it really got me good. I also revisited PLB. I have not done that workout in FOREVER. That one gives me DOMS more than anything else. Especially my hamstrings. I have a nice burn today.

I was reveiwing my workout calendars today. I restarted working out in the beginning of June from my 2nd back surgery. Even all last year before I hurt my back the 1st time(12/31), I was doing mostly Firms. I have really been away from Cathe for at least a year, maybe a little more. Anyway, in June, I started back out with Joyce Vedral, and cardio. Then I got into Turbo Jams, and Joyce. I went thru a 4 week rotation with the 3 Jari Love workouts, and cardio. That was the month of Sept. I did KPC, and Imax, and some Cathe cardio's in there with the Jari's. Then I started total Cathe strength & cardio Oct. 15th. I did a MEndurance Rotation Cathe had posted, and now I am doing the upper body rotation. I can see alot more muscle definition, in my arms and legs. Do you think this is why my weight loss has been so slow, I have to be gaining muscle?? In 2 weeks when I finish this rotation, I am going to take my measurements. I have not taken them since Oct. 23rd.

I really have not been losing that slow. I have been in the 140's it just seems for forever. Since the first week in August, I am down about 6 lbs. I am not whining, just thinking out loud, talking to myself. I know you guys know what I mean...thanks for letting me write this huge. long, post!!!
Lori

Lori- sorry, I don't always remember that others are 'foodies' like I am and read gourmet cooking magazines for a hobby!;-) Anyway, basically, when you saute something, you get all those little brown bits on the bottom of the pan (called, "fond", but there won't be a test at the end, I promise!). "Deglaze" means that you add a cool liquid to the pan and take your spoon and scrape up those bits (if you are used a non stick pan, be sure it's a wooden spoon!) because they are FULL of flavor. I like to use wine just for added flavor and the alcohol generally cooks out within the first 10-15 seconds or so. By all means, Yes, you can use chicken broth or water, but personally, I'd use the chicken broth because that would add additional flavor, and when you are trying to cut out calories/fat, flavor is definitely needed!!! If this is too simplified or too much unwanted information, I apologize, you said that you don't like to cook, not that you don't know how.

From the sounds of it, you are building muscle. I would be very interested in your measurements, my bet is that they are smaller, even though the scale down-y thingy is stalling! (mine's broken!)

Hi, everybody! You'll never guess where I'm posting from - my partner and I agreed to present to a few of BYU's MBA classes today. She's presenting and all the students are typing away on their laptops, so here I am via my wireless card - heh heh - isn't technology great?

This morning I did get up and get my workout in, albeit a shorter one - got up at 4:55 (ouch) and did a 45 min TM program, level 8, before driving to Salt Lake City to moderate the panel on blogging today.

The panel went great! 50 people there and it was a big hit. It'll be podcast probably sometime later today.

Traci, my dear, your body seems be showing all the signs of inflammation and stress. I agree with Amy wholeheartedly. A day or two of rest might do you a world of good. I hope you feel better!! Hats off for slugging through, but I am worrying just a teeny little bit about you... please take it easy, our friend.

Amy, I'm laughing at your decision about WI tonight. Yes, I can relate. Good luck with all those lemons. Yum! What a problem to have.

Lori, yes, the 140s feel like they last forever. But really, they won't. Hang in there! You're doing so well!

Jane, so great to hear from you!!

No DOMS from yesterday's DM, darn it... oh well, I guess I better try harder next time }(

Have a great morning, everyone!
Cheryl

Everyone sounds happy!! That makes it so nice to come to this check in, you all are so friendly.

I am going to take my measurements tomorrow. Hopefully, it makes me feel better. I do not feel bad, I just get a little frustrated when the scale stops. I don't care if I lose 1/4, I just like it to go down.

I am off to WalMart. See you tomorrow!!
Lori

Happy Afternoon All!

I have taken advise and am taking today and tomorrow as rest days. P90X will now be P92X! My body really is needing some rest and I need to get my appetite back in order to fuel these workouts so thank you all so much for the kind words and great advice. Its much easier having you all "diagnose" me than it is to do it myself. I struggle with seeing the forest thru the trees ya know? Thanks again!

Lori: You may NEVER come back if you're hitting Walmart this time of year! I go at 6 or 7am only or I just say forget about it! Its was crowded last week at 7:30am.... Dont these people sleep?:7
I was so amazed by your journey Lori! Your stuck scale weight simply must be muscle... Agree w/ concensus here... MEASURE! If you can measure once a month at least... I do it the last Friday of every month. Thats even how I look at wt loss; 4 week increments. When I do that I dont get so upset w/ the .this/.that that happens all month. Also- BF Calipers are fairly inexpensive right now... you can ask Santa for one;-) Even if its not 100% accurate it gives you a base # to look at each month. 140's are miserable! I swear I was 140-143 for 6 months. I just got crazy with it all but I wasnt lifting weights like you are so mine really was FAT!:7

AMY: Really cool idea about shipping lemons! You must be a college kid!:p Congrats on completing the holiday shopping. LOL on DH's most desired item... are we sure our guys arent related? We have a Ford man here in houston... he was MORTIFIED when I bought a Saturn Vue 5 years ago! Almost wouldnt go thru w/ the wedding... He still cringes if we HAVE to take my car:D

CHERYL: Aint technology GRAND! Way cool on your panel results... high 5! Thanks again for all you've said! ;-)

LOLOLOLOLOLOL, Traci!!! Maybe they're NOT related.....we're a Honda family all the way! Then again, Honda is built in Ohio, so maybe not so bad, right??? I have a Civic, we got a Pilot after DH's Accord was totalled last year (by a 17 yr old that was going to "follow him through the light". Light, what light, it was a freakin' red turn signal!!!"x( He also has a 1997 Honda Shadow motorcycle in storage and our generator is a Honda! See what I mean???

Cheryl- I hope that you have fun "typing madly away" incognito with the rest of the students!

I am glad that I am not the only "mean nurse" here:p :p :p and that others agree with my "oh-so-professional" diagnosis, Traci!

Well, nap is done, and I am one to Imax stuff.

BBL!

Hang in there Traci and cut yourself some slack, being sick can sap your energy even if it is a short illness. My DD has been sick and out of school (she teaches) for three days (Mon through Wed) this weekend. She tried to go in Wed but couldn't make it past first period, thank goodness her first period is her planning period. She has been so drained. She had a stomach bug. Take it easy until you get your energy back.

My man is a Ford man too, Ford truck... F250 Super Duty Crew cab. He about died when I bought a GMC Envoy but I had not had any luck with the two Fords I'd owned previously and I was fed up.

I'll be back after I eat to do some personals.

I just finished DM Ultra Cardio premix and it really wasn't that bad. I remember Cardio Fusion being much more difficult. My only problem were my calves and hamstrings. I have major DOMS in them from GSL yesterday. It got me good!

Hello fellow WWer's... finally some time to read some posts....

Traci - thanks for the little pep talk about the holiday season... the test begins this Saturday, DD and I are going to MIL's to make cowboy cookies... I plan to get some baking some also this weekend. I need to remember these goodies will be back next year, I don't have to eat them by the dozens!!

Amy - the GS's are wonderful. I hope you can get them soon. I have major DOMS from GSL yesterday. I haven't done those calf raises in a while since I did the Nov rotation with the new ones. Oh boy, my calves and hams are sore!!!

Lori - another one who keeps a workout calendar. I've been keeping one now since June of 2005. I list the workout, time, MHR, AHR, and calories burned. I also color code, red for cardio, green for strength/endurance, blue for abs/pilates, pink for circuit, purple for stretch/yoga. How's that for anal?!

Cheryl - hello there... try GSL for DOMS... I found it, oh boy did I find it!

I'm going to hit the shower and watch some TV before turning in.

g'night

Amy: GS are a must have! You would LOVE the calorie burn on them I'm sure!!! And of course you are into DOMS as Jane so thats a PLUS!
Dont worry I wont tell DH you are part of a Honda Family!!! lol

Jane: Scratching my head here..... DH drives White F250, My workout calender is EXACTLY like yours except colors are Blue=cardio Pink=Circuit Yellow=Strength & of course I list my daily scale WT even tho it LIES!!!!! So funny the similarites so many of us on the check in share.. I guess thats why we all hang out here.
Love what you said about remembering that holiday cookies are available next year too! I'll have to keep that one in mind as I bake the Hershey Kiss Drop Cookies next week!

Just "forced" myself to drink a protein shake for dinner... ZERO appetite and I had only consumed 852 Calories today... I really hope this is just a virus and it goes away VERY soon! Good news is that DH is taking the hunting dog to bay this weekend to hunt so I'll just have 2 here and we can veg-out if I still feel punky.

See ya'll in the am

Traci! Yes, I guess that is why we wind up in the same places, we are so similar. I track my weights too, once a week, on Tuesday morning. Weight, and measurements - bust, waist, hips, right thigh and left thigh... geez...

Your appetite will come back. DD was able to finally eat 16 points today, she has been below 10 a day since Monday. This is a nasty bug that is going around. I am knocking every piece of wood as I type this, but I haven't been really sick since 2001 when the flu/Strep laid me out for a week. DH gets everything going and coming but somehow I avoid it. That is sooo surprising too since I am so very immunosuppressed with Humira and sulfasalazine that take for rheumatoid arthritis. You'd think I'd catch everything. I REALLY hope I'm not jinxing myself here!!!!

Take care.

I didn't end up going to the meeting. After I woke up from my nap, I found that DH had almost fallen in the shower and was hurting pretty bad. I helped him to bed and that's the last I saw of him until I finished my Imax run...Imax 3 6-10 and Imax 2. I still just can't get into Imax 3, I think it's the music...I find 2 so much more fun. Anyway, when I went to jump in the shower, I found DH on the floor of the bathroom, sleeping. When I woke him up, he said that he had fallen, couldn't get up and had hollered for me, but Cathe was too loud. How's that for a guilt trip!? Anyway, there was no way I was going to head across town for a couple of hours then! So I just ran out for about 15 min to pick up dinner.

I guess that I should start keeping a workout log. I have kept pretty much the same type of schedule since last January that I can probably remember what I did last May if you asked me, depending on the day.

Jane/Traci- I have GS upper body, I just don't have the Legs video. I really like the upper body, but have put it on the back shelf for Jari Love. This is either week 3 or 4 of Ripped weights, either way, I am very happy with what I am seeing.

I still have to do a double take sometimes....for the longest time I had the world's hugest saddle bags and now while they are not completely gone, they cannot contend anymore!
