Thanks for the ^5's!

I just got done with a 55 min walk on the treadmill for a lowly 2 AP's! Any little bit helps though, right?!

B---Instant Cream of Wheat
L--carrots, celery and 2 Tbsp dip + small, plain baked potato
S--100 calorie snack pack
D--didnt feel like cooking...Progresso Lite Chicken Noodle Soup, Lean Cuisine Panini

So far used 24 points. I can have some almonds later if I get hungry. If not, I'll just leave it at 24, though I'm the opposite...dont want to risk possibly slowing my metabolism by NOT using all my points! We'll see how next week's weigh in goes I guess!

S: 12 almonds - 2

I"m so excited everyone's doing well and keeping positive attitudes!!

Keep Up the Great Work!!

We Can Do This!!!!!!!!

Shereta - I'm totally loving that you had a hamburger and fries last night for dinner! Good planning on you part. I hope you enjoyed every morsel...:)

I changed up my menu at the last minute last night. The chili was so good that I opted for a bigger portion and then just scaled back my last snack to a cup of pineapple and a WW yogurt.

Here is my menu for today:

B: Fiber One english muffin, slice of cheese, 1 oz deli ham (98%ff), 1/2 c 1% milk
S: banana
L: 5 oz sweet potato roasted w/1 t olive oil, 4 egg whites, 1 c pineapple
D: 1 & 1/2 c pasta, 3 oz 95% beef (3 meatballs), roasted veggies, 1/4 c pasta sauce, 1 c 1% milk
S: 4 slices deli turkey, 1 flax whole wheat pita (might throw a T of roasted red pepper hummos on there if I'm feeling crazy...:D)

Doesn't that look like ALOT of food?!?! I'm LOVIN' it!!!!

Melissa You're lunch looks awesome - very satisfying. I had sweet potato last night and loved it.

Shererta I never thought of having green beans for breakfast - what a great idea! I'll have to try it out and mix things up a bit.

This morning I did High Step Training and my legs are really feeling it. There's a couple of killer moves - first of all the hover squats (argh), then the one arm tri-cep dips with one leg sticking out. Killer. So, I'm counting 8 AP for that one. I feel that I should do a HIIT tonight, but I don't want to burn out.

Here's my menu:
B: 1 cup oatmeal, 2 tsp. ground flax seed, protein shake, banana, 1 cup skim milk (10 pt)
S: cornmeal muffin (3)
L: 2 oz. chicken breast with a salad, yogurt (5 pt)
S: apple, orange, raw carrots, hot chocolate (1 pt)
D: Eggwhite omelette with cooked spinach & garlic 3 pt)
S: popcorn

Have a great day everyone!

Melanie - I love sweet potato, too. What I'm having for lunch today is normally a breakfast for me but I decided to change it up a little. BTW, is it lunch-time yet? I am starving for some reason... I'm really regretting not bringing an extra piece of fruit to work with me today. Maybe I'll make my lunch now and eat it very slowly!!

Nice job on HST! I should pull that one out this week. Nice eats today!!!

We are all eating such great stuff. I love that we are posting our menus. Gives me lots of ideas...

Its a new day and I'm feeling good

Exer_cited, I did enjoy it. The fries were saltless, but still tasty. (gotta give up table salt anyway). I was so afraid of the scale this morning, but I was down another .5. woohooo

Melanie, actually its mixed collard and turnip greens. They come in a can. all natural, taste great. And, it gets me going on my veggies. I'm averaging 7-9 fruits and veggies a day. Im so not hungry on this plan. Even my bras are fitting better!!!!

Okay, I'm starting this new thing where I try to have a Power PointsPlus moment a few times a week to prove to myself that I'm really trying my best with this program. Today, my hubby had to have emergency surgery on his achilles tendon. We found out yesterday, so when we got home from work, we rushed to bible study, got home at 10pm and started prepping for today's hosp visit. I didn't get into bed til after 12, then realized I did not want to be at the mercy of hosp food. So, I got up, made all my normal food for work, packed it in a insulated bag and was very happy with myself. We were up at 4 to head to the doctors, but my food was ready to go. Yeah, Me!

And another one: I normally am an AM exerciser. It just gets me going for the day and I don't have to worry about it when I get off. well, since we had the surgery to get to, I couldn't workout this am. But I'm getting ready to do it now. This is huge for me, cause I hate to workout in the evening. I mean - I literally hate it. But, it's a new day and I'm feeling good. hahahahahaha get it? I'm getting ready to play my download of Jennifer Holiday's song to help motivate me. I'll be singing the song as I go get my workout clothes on.

Hi Ladies,

I finally got to my first weigh in since before I had surgery in mid December. I'm only up 2#'s and am not fretting about it. What I am doing is updating all my foods from the points value to the points plus values. I also bought the 3 month tracker so I can track my pts when I'm not at a computer.

This morning I did Imax 3, whew, what a w/o after missing about 3 weeks of no cardio. I'm doing STS and haven't had success with weightloss during this STS in the past. Hopefully with WW thrown into the mix the scale will start moving in the downward direction.

S-20 almonds-4pt....and 1/4 C choc chips -6pts (need to brk this habit)
B-fiber one, 1 C berries, prot powder, flax seed, almond milk-7pt
L-Tilapia and steamed broccoli & Cauliflower-4pt
S-carrots/cherries throught the afternoon
D-2 C homemade chili con carne, made with lean ground beef, onions, beans. I'll have to check the points on this one.

Good job everyone!

Shereta...Kudos to you on your "moments"! Way to plan ahead.

This morning I did Jillan's No More Trouble Zones (omitted the last circuit/floor work)...2 AP

B--raspberries, banana
S--pretzels
L--1/2 sliced red pepper, 25 almonds
D--chicken breast + chips and salsa (was craving some "bad" food)

Broke even...Total 29 Points!

I turned down chocolate fudge cake with ice cream!

Way to go Shereta!

Hey Shereta - thanks for the awesome post. I'm sorry to hear about your hubby, and I hope he recovers well. I'm so impressed that in all this stress & rush, you decided to take good care of your health, and not use this as an excuse to get off plan. That is so awesome (yes, I realize I used that word twice already!)

Also good for you for working out in the evening - 40/20 is tough, so YAY for you!

Have a great day everyone!

Hey Diana - just thought you deserved a congrats too because you've gotten right back at it after your pause! Let us know how it goes with STS & WW & weightloss. I just bought STS, so I'm wondering when I should start the routine.

Anyways, here's my day:

This morning I did Higher Intensity 4DS cardio along with Lower Intensity 4DS cardio = 9 APs. I love those routines, especially the music. Great way to get myself going at 5:15 a.m. on a Friday after a long week!

Menu:
B: oatmeal with 2 tsp flax seed, protein shake, banana, 1 FINN Crisp bread with low fat cream cheese & smoked salmon, 1 cup of skim milk (11 points)
S: apple, nectarine
L: meatloaf, 1/2 cup sweet potato, raw carrots & raw red pepper (6 points)
S: hot chocolate, cornmeal muffin (4 points)
D: 2 oz. chicken breast with steamed cauliflower & broccoli (4 points)
S: Not sure (something for 4 points!)

Diana - 2#'s up ain't bad!!! Glad you made it to a weigh-in and feel good about the outcome. I'm curious as well about how STS and WW work together. I did a round and a half of STS and didn't lose any weight. That was ok though because at the time that wasn't really my goal. It would have been nice, don't get me wrong...;)

Stacy - you deserve a huge shout-out for turning down chocolate fudge cake with iced cream.... Great job!!!!

Shereta - I love your attitude! You are totally embracing this program and it's INSPIRING! Love your "moments" and love that you shared that with us. I hope your DH is doing okay.

Melanie - are you normally an AM exerciser? I just can't do it. I've attempted several times. I'm better at it in the summer, but in the winter it's a no-go! Nice job on LIS and HIS. I love those two although I haven't done the premix of the two together. Are they in their entirety back to back or does the premix mix up the segments of both workouts? The hip-hop repeater in LIS always brings me back to the 2008 RT when Cathe put it in one of the routines. This was before the workouts were released. Good memories! I see you are having sweet potato today...:D

Okay, so I have to confess that I had a little binge last night... I was making dinner and started chomping on raw carrots as usual. Then DH wanted to go outside and get the snow off of the roof so dinner was delayed. I just started grazing. I finally stopped myself, went over to the laptop and put in everything I had just eaten. That's a big step for me. In the past I would normally just tell myself that I couldn't have possibly eaten more than my WP's and not write it in. But I did this time. It was kind of a painful lesson having to sit there and "confess" to myself what I had just done. It ended up coming to 10 WP's. Not too bad, I guess. And I'm sure I'll remember that feeling the next time I go crazy...:) So a learning "moment" I guess.

Today will be a challenge. No school today due to another snow storm. So I'm home with DD. I have a hard time when I'm home. Thankfully I'm in desperate need of a trip to the grocery store so there isn't really much to tempt me. And I pretty much ate it all last night anyway...

BBL to post my menu and workout. Have a great morning!!!

Wow, a busy week here! :)

Melissa - I'm home today too on another snow day....temptations abound but I will be strong! Never mind how many APs I'll earn for digging out. Ugh. Winter.

Shereta - Thanks for your inspiring posts! They brighten my day. Great planning ahead for the hospital. I hope your DH is recovering well.

I've mostly only been able to lurk this week due to my mother being hospitalized since Monday. And I have two special needs kids - one had his super important high school transition meeting yesterday and the other has had a run of very difficult weeks.

It's been a rough go.

But. I have been tracking my food and what little AP I can get. I still have some AP left and I think 10 WP. Not too shabby. I've been just tossing fruit in my lunch bag each morning and that holds me over.

I did budget for a Reese's Dark Chocolate yesterday - my reward for surviving an IEP meeting! :p I think it was 6 PP! But worth it.

It still feels like I'm eating too much food - I need to look at what exactly I am eating. In general I eat pretty well but I think I'm using too many of my points for chocolate and an adult beverage of an evening here and there.

Cutting myself some slack this week though given everything. For me - just consistently tracking is really really big. And being honest!

Wishing everyone good days.

Hi Melissa -

First of all, good for you for tracking all the extras you had last night. You should feel really positive about it, because its a huge step forward for you. I've been exactly where you were last night, and didn't track what I ate, then paid for it. At least you are being accountable to yourself and are dedicated to the program. I hope your day goes o.k. at home with your DD. Sometimes if I'm tempted to eat when I'm not really hungry, I'll think about working out with Cathe & how hard that is, and not wanting to undo the benefits of those workouts. Or I've even dropped and done a few push-ups or sit-ups. That'll help keep your mind off food! Or, go out and play in the snow - if you like snow that is - I myself am personally getting sick of the cold & snow.

Yes, I always exercise in the morning unless I'm super tired. I work full-time and get home at 6:00. By that time, I'm way to drained physically and mentally to think of doing a workout. Plus I love the feeling of getting the workouts done first thing.

Have a great day!

Hey, Yall

Lots of nice posts today. My workout of lower body blast and step Heat are done. I earned 20aps but weightin is tomorrow, so I will eat lots of clean foods.

Thanks for the well wishes for dh. He's being a great patient. Recovery is going well.

I'll post my totals later.

Diana, Imax3 - one of my favorite favorites. Good luck with STS

Stacy, good job turning down that delicious dessert. I don't know if I could have. I love anything with ice cream

Melanie, I've done that premix of HIS/LIS step only and it's a blast. lots of calories get blasted. Right under an hour.

Melissa, good job on tracking your binge and thank God the WPs!!!!!!!!!!

Suzanne, tracking while stressing is definitely a time to cut yourself some slacking. Tracking period is a great feat.

Happy Friday, All.

OK, gearing up to go do ShovelMax and see how many APs I can earn.

BTW if you have a chance to sample the WW Dark Chocolate Turtle treat thingies......do! Two big thumbs up from me and I'm a little picky about my chocolate treats. 2 PP each.

Melanie & Shereta - I feel good about being accountable for my binge! And really good about having enough WP's to cover it!!!

Suzanne - I just completed ShovelMax. Two hours. Thankfully the snow isn't heavy. In my area, anyway. We have such a huge mound in our yard though that I really had to wing it up there so it wouldn't come back at me. Nice shoulder workout!!!

So it's 3:00 and I've stayed completely in control today. HUGE success for me being home and all. After lunch I went right outside and started shoveling. Took me 2 hours but I have to say I enjoyed being out there. It's cold, but while I was outside the sky turned blue and the sun came out. It was beautiful. Now I have a sweet potato cut into fry-like sections roasting in the oven and I've had two slices of low-salt/fat deli turkey (1 pt) to tide me over. I feel FANTASTIC!!!

Here is my menu for today:

B: FiberOne english muffin, 1T organic pb, 1/2 c milk
S: banana
L: whole wheat pita, 1T Hidden Valley light ranch dressing, 1/2 c white tuna
S: 5 oz sweet potato, 2 slices turkey
D: 6 oz grilled chicken, salad & greek dressing

I still have LowMax on my rotation for today but I'll do that later. Off to eat my sweet potato fries. I can smell 'em...:D

Oh and I noticed when I came back on: 58 posts from us for this week! Awesome... This is a great group!!!
