Happy Wednesday all!
I feel GREAT today thanks to P90X Stretch & sleep last night! Ready to conquer : P90 Chest & Back, B&G Bonus Abs, BodyMax2 Cardio Timesaver. I added cardio to the day because I have a dinner at Pappadeaux Seafood tonight (kinda late) and the bread & cream sauces are everywhere!
Scale is un-officially up 2 pounds today because of ttom
My ttom is so WEIRD again this month.... crampy big time and bloated for 2 days but nothing else... drives me nuts! Usually when it starts off like this its pretty severe pain wise and literally takes me off my feet for a day or two....I will just NEVER get used to these 43 yr old hormones and the havoc....

Corinne: Had to LOL at Yogi because my Sandy does the same thing... ALWAYS on the route home of course! She plops her 100 pound booty down and there is nothing I can do but wait for her to decide its ok to walk home!

Amy: Amazon must have gotten a publishers update... you'll get when I do too.... I LOVE ordering from Amazon! They are prompt, accurate and ALWAYS send me emails w/ updates

JANE: HOLY TOLEDO!!! 3 pounds??????? You guys are all making my .xxx wt losses seem like nothin'! I am so excited for you all! Whats your magic soup????

Have a great day all!

Good morning Traci and all that follow...

Traci - I think I just dropped what I'd gained last week by just eating well. This past week I ate only 4 activity points per day and used 38 flex points (went over a smidge). I ate some really horrible stuff the week before and I think my body just went back to where it was when I started eating decent again. We'll see what next week brings.

Today I start the second week of the 4-week Nov rotation. LIC (premix #3) is on tap.

Have a good one!

Can’t talk now, but wanted to tell you……

Tracie - girl, I couldn't wait too get to work today to tell you I LOVE THAT WORKOUT more than any of the new ones, I recieved on Tuesday, sorry Cathe, but that workout rock! :p :9 ;)

Good Morning!!

Traci, enjoy C&B. I really felt that one.

Jane - Congrats. on losing those dreaded gained lbs.

This morning I did P90X Shoulders and Arms. I really liked it. I'm still kind of sore from Chest and Back on Monday.

Eating went well yesterday. Stated at 21.5 pts. Scale was down this morning again. Yehhh!!!

Have a good day.
Buffy

Jane: Whatever caused it YOU made the choices...YOU ROCK!

BuffY; Great day yesterday op.... Shoulders & Arms is my FAVORITE so far! I love the 1-2-3 rounds format... I NEVER got bored the entire hour! Did cardio this morning... just got a little fuel and will hit the wts in about an hour or so I CANT WAIT!!!!

:+ :7 :+ :7 :+ :7 Oh Teddygirl I am THRILLED you love your new workout!!!! That is the BEST-EST feeling in the world. I have to say that your reaction is exactly why I purge my closets many many times a year.... I just KNOW that what no longer has value for me will be PERFECT for someone else! Thats just how life works isn't it??? Make room in your life for all new good things to flow to you! ENJOY for many many months to come ;-)
PS: THANK you for working the Polls.... a thankless job I'm sure... I had a guy in my place pitchin' a fit....

Hi all -
I'm back in the office so this will be quick -

This am did the BM2 Cardio Blast premix - loved it! Had to repeat Step combo 3 because I had trouble getting it the first time through, then I had to skip the last two blasts because I was time crunched, but doesn't matter - I got in just over an hour of awesome cardio and it will be a regular in my cardio routine for sure.

I'm not sure if I'm struggling with Core because it's different or because I just want to eat what I've been eating. Today I actually logged in my breakfast as flex plan pts before I realized that oops, I'm doing core. x(

OK, ladies - I'm off to work and will probably not be back today. Have a great day!!

Oh, Jane - congrats on the awesome loss!!

Good Morning!

I feel really good this morning. Of course there is some residual cr@ap to blow out and cough up...but I actually slept really good last night and have energy this morning. Heck, even coffee sounded good finally! I have't drank coffee since last Tuesday!

Jane- Again, Congratulations on your loss!

Traci- Whew! What a lineup!

Claude- I know what you mean about Core. I tried it a while back, and finally gave up on it because I was so used to flexing that Core just frustrated me!

DH is frustrating me this morning. He doesn't sleep at night, but finally falls asleep around 4 am usually. Anyway, then any sound he hears, he feels like he needs to be up and "doing" something. Well, finally after listening to him sleep on the toilet for 15 min this morning, I finally walked him back to bed. Now, he's up and about, thinking he needs to be eating an apple (which I will probably find under the bed later) and I know he will fall back to sleep in the middle of. What frustrates me to no end is that when I get after him to go back to bed, he always says, "Okay, I'm going" but then acts like a little kid and finds every excuse in the book not to until I physically have to walk him there and tuck him in. Sad thing, he doesn't remember any of it, either because he's usually sleep walking!

Sorry for the vent!

Okay, I have a question for the workout gurus here: What's next?
I have done Basic Step the last 2 days, and felt pretty decent. I know that I am not 100% up to par for a whole Cathe, but don't have a clue to an idea of what to do today for a workout. I don't think that I am up to weights yet, and plan to put that off for another couple of days. Any suggestions? It's beautiful out, so I could head out for a walk, but I would want to run, instead.

Amy - do you have a treadmill? If so, I'd suggest a cardio workout with lots of incline/moderate speed so you're getting a full cardio benefit without so much "jostling" of your congested head.

If not, I'd maybe suggest weights, but don't expect to go all out and maybe put an emphasis on core.

Two options... from someone who's had that situation many times before :)

Good luck!!!!
Cheryl

AMY: LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL DH Story....YOU made my morning!!!!!!!!!!!
Workout: If it were me I'd go back to whatever "rotation" you were in the middle of and just do low impact/modified/shorter versions of those. Really if you're doing Cathe anything other than basic step may wipe you out so I'd just get back to your goals before the crud hit and modify. Just my 'pinion
So glad you are feeling better!!!!!!!

Thanks for the ideas.

Cheryl- No, no TM. When we move......eventually...........I plan on getting an elliptical for my workout room (yes, there will be a designated room.....DH has already mandated it!;-) ) I had one, but I used it to death....literally!! I broke the tension band on it, I used it so much!

Traci- I am glad that you likes the story. I was amused with it at first, but after a while, it just gets frustrating.....you know, the whole "man" thing!

I may just extend what I did yesterday and try stringing all the warmups from the new workouts together. I found the new warmups are longer than most of her earlier workouts, so that may work.

Good morning!!!

Traci - Oooooh, that hormone stew sounds terrible! It's so not easy to be female! I got my P90X yesterday. I have a lot of reading to do! I'm thinking I might start this program, as written, in January. Maybe by then I'll be ready to give the new Cathe's a bit of a break. Maybe....

Jane - are you enjoying the November rotation? Now that I've got my workouts, I'm thinking of doing it. Is it giving you any benefits other than getting you familiar with the new workouts? Congratulations on the loss!!! Woohoo!

Teddygirl - whew, that was a long day for you yesterday!!!

Buffy - congrats on the loss!!

Claude - Keep up the great work. You'll catch onto Core before you know it.

Amy - Wow, you have so many challenges, I'm so impressed with your ability to workout and eat well on a consistent basis. I'm so happy that you've finally turned the corner on this bug. Isn't Body Fusion on the same dvd as Basic Step? If you have Body Fusion, do just the cardio segments; skip over the weights, or program your player. It comes in around 30 mins, and is a nice on par alternative to Basic Step.

Update on the Germ Household:
The doctor concurs that something viral is happening in my throat, and I need to wait it out. She tested me for strep, and will let me know tomorrow if that's what it is. I don't think so, though, because there's no white spots. The purple blotches, apparently, are some kind of hemorrage in some tiny blood vessels. I can't remember what she called it: something long, begins with a 'p', and sort of like "petrie". Petrechia? Anyhow, it's not a problem, since I still have my tonsils. If I'd had my tonsils removed, I would have a problem. I don't know more than that.

The baby, and as of this morning the six year old too, have pink eye. So, a couple of times a day I have to sneak up on them and smear some ointment in their eyes. They love their mama, I tell you!

Generally, though, we all seem to be getting better. I felt my worst yesterday - very flu-y. Feeling better this morning, but still have a head ache. Yesterday I ended up doing Low Impact Step, the abs from Total Body Sculpting (her easiest and shortest by far!), and the second segment from Total Body Stretching.

I FINALLY received my new Cathe dvds AND P90X yesterday! Oh, what a joyful day! I previewed LIC last night, and wanted to go to bed with my workout clothes on, so I could jump up and do it right away! It was a lot of fun, and will be a well used workout, no doubt! I didn't find it overly advanced, and the weights didn't feel challenging enough. I like the new moves. I'm going to go now and preview as much of the remaining workouts that I can before DD wakes up from her nap.

Have a great day!
Sandra

Hi again, everyone!

Sandra, Woo hoo on your Cathe's coming!!! You will love them. I know it :)

Amy - good choices on workout - I hope it goes well.

Claude - we're thinking alike again today. LOVE,LOVE,LOVE BodyMax 2.
I thought it was so excellent. I did all the cardio and shortened the arms and abs a little since I am still feeling Monday's PUB. Still an 80 minute workouts. I thought it was excellent. What a way to start the day!

Have a good one, everyone!
Cheryl

Quickie post from me today--lots to do.

I didn't want you all to think I died, although Butts and Guts lived up to its title--my butt is killing me(2 days later).

Yesterday I ran for 20 minutes and did 30 minutes on the elliptical.

Today I'm taking a break--I may take the 1.25 mile walk(each way) to pick up DD from school--it's nice and warm here today.

Eating is going okay--I'll be glad when all the Halloween candy is gone.

Have a great day!!
Kim

Sandra- I am so sorry that you are dealing with TONS of germs. I think that the word you were looking for was "petechia" and yes, it's just when the timy capillary blood vessels "pop" under the skin, similar to a bruise. I understand how you feel about the ointment, well, sort of. I had to put ointment in my cat's eye a few times, not necessarily the same a 2 kids' for sure, but the results were about the same, I imagine!
I wish I had Body Fusion, I keep forgetting that I am not always up to par and when I am not sick, is when I can't seem to part with my money to get it, I just can't seem to justify it! I think that I will have to now, just for safety sake!

Kim- Welcome back! My Halloween candy is still sitting on my kitchen table....fortunately I haven't touched it, except for 5 little candy bars a couple nights ago.

Must find the butt-glue remover and get to doing something!

Okay, BGR was found and I figured out what my workout was going to be....it ended up being such a mish mosh of the new workouts I hope I can remember what I did.

I started out with the B&G warmup and moved onto the warmup of BM2. I liked the music so much from BM2, that I stuck with it but lowered my step to just the platform. I did all the step combos from BM2, then on to LIC and did step combos 1&2, NO BLASTS. I also modified so that everything was low impact. It turned out to be a great workout just over 70 min and burned 680 cal!!! It felt great!!

Now, off to shower and errandize. The cats need food, DH needs some packages shipped, I have a Yankee Candle coupon to see about and I need a new GF grill. I have about killed the last one I got and it's not even a year old!!!

On tap for dinner I am going to make my White Chicken chili, but use a pork tenderloin instead. So it will still be white, but just not chicken.;-)

Hi again guys-
Had a ball w/ BM2 Timesaver (LOVE THE MUSIC!!!) P90 Chest & Back was another great strength workout.... Abs Bonus from B&G... glad there were no cameras on me for the "on the ball" parts...

Buffy: How are you doing the pull ups??? I have band on top of door but once I really get strong;-) not sure how to make it even tougher... just higher grip I guess?

Sandra: Good for you going to Dr. I cannot imagine having an entire family sick + 2 kids w/ pink eye.....& you still manage great workouts... Do you take special Super Woman pills???

Cheryl: I too think BM2 is one of my favorite Cathe's ... music, easier choreography yet high intensity...

Kim: LOL on B&G... I know EXACTLY how you feel! Took 3 days to work out my personal B&Gs. Enjoy your rest day!

Amy:Thanks for being our own persoanl on site nurse! We love ya
I'm printing your mish mosh today...it looks like a blast! YES I agree that Cathe's longer warm ups & stretches are really nice. FYI: Love your new quotes;-)

Good evening all..... I just finished premix #3 of LIC - (UB circuit). I think that is where they made the mistake on run time, it is listed as 55 1/2 minutes and my HMR came in at 65 minutes.

I've eaten enough to feed a third world country this afternoon. I snapped right around 3:00 when I got off work... geez... after an awesome weigh in last night. I just love to shoot myself in the foot. At least I worked out. Going to bed, yet ANOTHER EARLY START in the morning. Soooo tired...that may be my problem.

See you in the morning...

Jane- One good thing about "snapping" right after the WI is that you get a whole week to work it off!!! That's why I have my "splurge" day either the night after WI or the day after.

Okay, guys, I can't hold it in any longer.....I had 2 victories today!! First, and foremost....an SV (scale victory)! Today, I hopped on the scale and was shocked and pleased that it read a great big 180.0. Now I know that's high for most of you, but I am 5'8 1/2" and big boned...not that that's an excuse. Anyway, what's great about that number for me is that's the lowest I have weighed in about 8 years, AND it means I have broken the 70 barrier!!! My total weight loss is (drum roll please....) 70.5 lbs!!!! Yea me!!!

Second.....an NSV (non-scale victory). I stopped by the uniform shop on my way home from errandizing and picked up some new work pants.....in size MEDIUM!!!!! This is the first time in my entire adult life that I have worn a MEDIUM!!!

I celebrated by getting myself the new pants, but also a new indoor grill. I have worn out my 4th GF grill and frankly was a little tired of the quality, so I splurged and got a Cuisinart Griller with removable plates that can also double as a counter top griddle.

BTW, we haven't heard from Madam X in a while, I hope she's okay!

Oh, and I stopped at the book store and picked up Oxygen Magazine's Special issue for Clean Eating........ and Paula Deen's Christmas special issue.......and Taste of Home's Christmas recipes special issues......and Cook's Illustrated Holiday Baking special issue;-) . I am had to laugh to myself about the selection! Oh well!

Amy - I am so excited for you!!! I can feel your excitement! YAY!! Congrats on the new grill (I love my Wolfgang Puck reversible griddle/grill) and the MEDIUM size pants!! You go girl!

Oh and I love Paula Deen (I couldn't eat her cooking every day though!) I also love Christmas baking. I baked cookies by the hundreds last year (I'm rethinking that for this year!:p )

I know I have a week to get it back together. I have a department luncheon tomorrow for Health Information Services week and I not worried about it at all now... I don't think I'll overindulge tomorrow... I'll still be full!!

I am going to shift and experience a little this week (even though it is my LAST WEEK of maintenance, if I hold it together, this time next week I'll be a LifeTimer). I am going to eat my AP's this week, not just 4. I really think I am putting myself into too much of a calorie deficit and that is triggering these overeating episodes. Anyway, I'll keep a close watch on the scale, don't want to let it get out of hand on this last week.

Again, congrats!! I'm doing a happy dance around the room (twice). That should be good for one more AP!:+
