LAST EDITED ON Dec-30-02 AT 11:15AM (Est)[p]Well, I'll start this time so it will all be good news from here. Weighed in Saturday and gained a whopping 4 lbs!! :-wow :-wow

I almost swooned at the scale! (Well, that might have been because I skipped my coffee/breakfast in hopes that would make a difference :-rollen). I know that 2 lbs is the usual from TOM and the other 2 must be from my Mom's cheesecake and other BLTs (bites, licks, tastes). Interesting how one can gain weight so quickly but it is sooo slow to come off.

Donna, I started the PS rotation yesterday, had my Kashi cereal for breakfast this morning and have a huge glass of water at hand. So I'm back on the wagon. Wish me luck!

Sharon- sorry about your gain this week. But it sounds like you are back on track!

I had another good week. I had my WW weigh-in on Saturday and had lost 2 3/4 pound for the week. I think some of that was carried over from the week before when I only lost 1/2 pound. I am 2/10 of a pound away from getting my first ten pound loss ribbon. I know it seems kind of dorky, but WW is big into public recognition and stuff, which I like. Hopefully next week I will get it. Since I gave birth to Sam (five months ago) I have lost 40 pounds. So I am back to my pre-preg. weight from him, but not from the first baby yet. I still have about thirty pounds to go. One pound at a time, right? Hope to hear good news from all of you. Please check in everyone!! Heather (anxiously awaiting my dvds!!)

Congrats on your loss Heather. I'm doing WW too and proudly hung my ribbon on the frig. I was 1 lb away from 20 lbs until my recent slip. The good news is that I know I'll get there eventually. I'm also trying to get rid of baby weight..except my babies are 6 and 8 years old :):)

Good luck this week..

I am not going near the scale, I am afraid. Not only am I 2 days away from dreadful FLO, I have not been the best the last 4 days. I am starting Donna's PS rotation today. I did PS last week, but a little differently. I like her rotation. I am on WW's too, but so far I have lost 6 lbs. I have 9 more to go, but now probably it is 9-10. OUCH!!! I am glad the holidays are over!!!!

LAST EDITED ON Dec-30-02 AT 01:28PM (Est)[p]Hi all,

Don't know why I even bothered weighing this morning? I think I have a sadistic streak in me!? I was suppose to take last week off to give my body a "break" but I couldn't stand it after 2 days so I did take the 24th and the 25th off, and then yesterday I took off because I plan to take every Sunday as a rest day each week from now on, giving my body 1 full day of rest, so basically I worked out only 4 days last week (a whole new concept for me!), so WHY I expected to see a loss is beyond me?
I am thankful for maintaining, and pretty proud that my eating was really pretty good last week, but I am anxious to start losing again!

Sharon: Sorry for your gain :( I hope the rotation has a really good result for you. (fingers crossed for you!)

Heather: I am pea green with envy at your constant ability to lose! AND during the holidays no less! :) But I am also VERY, VERY happy for you! Way to go! :) Can you please pull me and Sharon along for the ride!?

Lori: Good going on your loss so far as well. Looks like WW has something going on there! :)

I'm thinking about this "mini goal" thing and I'm now thinking that maybe we could do a "1# per week" thing. If we lose more, "wooo-hooo!", but concentrating on 1# at a time might be both more physically and mentally do-able. Sometimes focusing on more can be overwhelming! Plus, this would be a more realistic caloric deficit, just a combo of lowering our current intake by 250 calories/day + increasing our exercise to burn 250 calories, 500 calories day = 3500 calorie deficit/week = 1# loss/week

What do you guys think?

Donna

Donna, I like the one pound a week thing. That is pretty much how I think anyway. Anything extra is just cream on top (or maybe fat-free Cool Whip :) Slow and steady wins the race!

Hi there fellw checker-inners!

It sounds like WW is doing something right. I tried WW two times several years ago and it worked for weight loss, but I was so inactive then that I think I lost all muscle.

Anyway, I think my scale is broken, but the one time I did get it to work, it said 141, so I guess I maintained sort of. I'm still .5 lbs over my wedding weight in October. Not too bad considering I ate at least 30 Lindt truffles from Dec. 25 through 26, and then a whole pint of B&J NY Super Fudge Chunk on Sunday.

Gosh, I better get those new videos soon or I am going to start turning into some sort of truffle.

Take care and have a great week everyone!

Linda

NO!NO!NO!....

NO! You did not go there with the Ben & Jerry's! You know my weakness for the frozen stuff Linda! :(
Okay, was it at least worth it? And did you have to mention a flavor I don't even know?

Okay, I'll be okay! I will not have ice cream! Now you have me thinking about it! Good Lord!

Donna

RE: NO!NO!NO!....

Not to mention the Lindt truffles!! I love those things, they're heavenly!!

I am at 215 or 216, not sure exactly where the scale was at. So at least I didn't gain anything further over the holidays.

Surprising considering I had to eat at my in-laws a few times. Can you believe my MIL actually puts BACON GREASE in her freakin' green beans? Here I am innocently eating green beans, which normally I don't even have to count toward my calories for the day, and I learn they contain her "secret ingredient"!!

So I told hubby I'm not eating at their house anymore unless I bring my own food. He is very supportive so I will have to do that!

I think Donna's 1# a week idea is fantastic. I was gonna start all fresh this week, and then today I blew it. :-( Tomorrow is another day and I'm going to learn from my mistakes (no granola bars, darn it! No granola bars! They're not that filling when used as a meal replacement, and not all that healthy when it's ALL you eat!!).

I would like to begin right now! I want to make sure I'm at 215 (thusly losing the 1# I gained week before last) by the end of this week. Then it's 1# every week after!!

RE: NO!NO!NO!....

Hi,
The B&J and the Lindt truffles were worth it. Every bite was delicious. I truly believe that chocolate release endorphins and makes me feel happy! Or, maybe it's just the sugar in them. Sorry to make you desire it Donna. Be strong and don't give into temptation. Have a few unsweetened chocolate chips instead or some of your Fat Free hot chocolate!

Anyway, the B&J New York Super Fudge Chunk is my favorite. It is chocolate ice cream with chunks of white chocolate, dark chocolate, chocolate covered almonds, and walnuts. It is really yummy, but that is one of the main reasons that I became overweight to begin with, so I only eat a pint once every four months or so now, instead of four times a week! I will say that at least mentally my arteries are still probably recovering from this indulgence. Actually, after doing Boot Camp this morning, they are probably recovered now!

Cheers and Happy New Year!

Linda
