I posted this over in the general area as well in case you can't get to it (I know you are busy getting ready for taping and I can't wait).
Anyway, you will be able to see the problem presented and my solution. Please advise what you think of this if you get a change. I really appreciate it!!!

This is what I posted...

Well, I went and had my body fat checked and it was very high. On a postive note, I am no longer over weight. However, I am over fat. So, the trainer at the gym suggested that I change things around alittle. He suggested instead of doing 5 cardio and 3 weight lifting to switch to 5 weightlifting and three cardio.
So, I thought I might do something like this....

Week One
Monday...LL
Tuesday...PS CST and 45 min. cardio
Wed....Off
Thurs...PS BBA and 45 min. cardio
Friday...PS Legs and abs
Sat... PS CST and 45 min. cardio
Sun...Stretch

Week Two
Monday...PS BBA and 45 min. cardio
Tuesday...LL
Wednesday...Off
Thursday...PS Legs and Abs
Friday...PS CST and 45 minutes cardio
Saturday...LL
Sun...Stretch

Week Three
Monday...PS BBA and 45 min. cardio
Tuesday...PS Legs and abs
Wed....Off
Thurs...PS CST and 45 min. cardio
Friday...LL
Sat... PS BBA and 45 min. cardio
Sun...Stretch

Week Four
Monday...PS CST and 45 min. cardio
Tuesday...PS Legs and Abs
Wednesday...Off
Thursday...LL
Friday...PS BBA and 45 minutes cardio
Saturday...PS Legs and abs
Sun...Stretch

I figure that this way I would alternate one week with three upper body workouts and two lower body workout and then the next week with two upper body workout and three lower body workouts.
How I alternated it makes it to where each tape gets one week where the tape is done twice in that week. That way, PS CST and PS BBA get worked equally. Basically, the numbers come up as 5 LL; 5 PS CST; 5 PS BBA and 5 PS Legs and abs for a total of 10 upper body workouts and 10 lower body workouts with 12 cardio workouts.
Does this seem like too much to any of you? Looking at it, I think it does, but I can't see any other way to get in 5 weights and three cardios.
Any suggestions, criticisms, etc. is greatly appreciated. I need HONEST opinions here!!!!

God Bless,
Cynthia

Hello Cathe:

I am in week four of this now and my strength is doing well. I feel good, and in no way feel over-worked or exhausted. I think mostly because I am not really working any body part more than twice a week with the exclusion of legs three times every other week, and I have adjusted well to that as well.

My upper body has reacted VERY well to this, and I can actually see great cuts in my arms. My legs are also much tighter and even my hams are looking better.

I would still love your view on this as I still have 12 weeks left. Any views would be greatly appreciated.

I just want to add that my cardio have been a little more than 3x per week and it is mostly spinning, running and kickboxing. I have been having so much fun at my new gym that it is hard to miss a class :).

Thanks,
Cynthia

Dear Cynthia

I have to answer your question with a question of my own! How do you like that?! Why did your trainer suggest that you do more strength than cardio? Is it because you are at the right weight? This seems to be a trend - for example, Cathe's new videos are almost all strength. I have been wondering why the emphasis seems to have changed from cardio to strength. Any ideas? I'd love to hear from anybody on this!

I too have just started a new rotation with far less cardio and far more strength. However I am a good 10 pounds overweight so maybe this isn't such a great idea. Here is what I started last week:

Cardio: Body Max and Mindy Mylrea Slammin Sports Cardio (get some strength gains with these videos but not a lot). I also do a multi step class at my gym. Trying to get in a good bike ride or swim as well but didn't manage to last week;)

Strength: MIS, LL, Upper body portions of all CTX, PS Chest, PS BBA. (If I can get in a Body pump class at my gym, I will do that as well.)

Keep us informed as to how you are doing!

Best Wishes,
Angie.
