Weight in kilogram on screen

Hi,

Do you have a lot of exercisers overseas who use kilogram weights? I am going to use your DVDs while traveling. I am also buying some of your DVDs for friends there too. So I'm thinking that it would be nice if the poundage was converted into kilogram on screen when you announce what weight you'll be using. For example, when you say you are using 8 lb dumbbells then there would be number ..... kg somewhere on screen. What do you think?

Susie, I am from Australia and we use kilograms. So I was very confused when I first started with Cathe. 2.2lbs per 1 kilo. I have a chart written up so that I can grab the right weight (Cathes weight) and go from there.
1 kg = 2.2 lbs
3kg = 6.6 lbs
4kg = 8.8lbs
5kg = 11 lbs
6kg= 13.2 lbs
7kg = 15.4 lbs
10 kg = 22 lbs
13 kg = 28.6 lbs
14kg = 30.8 lbs
15 kg = 33 lbs
20kg = 44 pounds

And so it goes on .......

You can of course get weights that go up in .5 of a kg So the closet weight you get to 8lbs is 3.5 kg. I use the .5kgs when training heavy, especially squats, lunges and back work.

A good rule of thumb:

kg is approximately half of pound

10 lb is about 5 kg
35 lb is about 18 kg

Um... 1 k = 2.2 pounds (so a pound is about 1/2 kilogram).
(so to find out how many pounds a KG weight is, double the weight, then add 10%. ie: 10 KG doubled = 22; 10% of 22 is 2.2; 10 KG = 24.2 pounds. It's pretty quick once you get used to it).
