Weekend Melters Jan 5/6

Good Afternoon Melters!

I did get up early today ( 5:40) and did 4DS Legs only. I had to go to our dog club and do Canine Good Citizen testing. I love doing this stuff! Anyway I am back now and get to do stuff around the house before the week starts.

I too am drooling over some of the pictures in the Clean Eating magazine.

Shelley:
what cutie Sophie is!

Shannon:
"One Day At a Time"!

Have a great day and enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Feeling even sicker today--sore throat and my neck hurts--like swollen glands or something. Ugh. I am also even more exhausted--already napped a couple hours between breakfast and lunch and I'm half-lying down as I type this.

Today is a rest day. I hope I feel up to starting that 4DS Rotation tomorrow. I really want to be able to do it, but doubt I could if I still feel this nasty. x( I guess I'll be calling my doc in the morning.

Shelley, adorable Sophie pics--she is so good at posing. And you look great, of course!

OK, here are some of our Christmas pics:

In that last one I look almost as tired as I feel today.

Hope to BBL for more personals.

Hiya~

Okay, y'all are gonna think I'm nuts, but I bought a VERY EXPENSIVE 17" MacBook Pro yesterday...and I'm taking it back today  :-( . I was so excited to get it home and I should be thrilled out of my mind with it, but all I've done since I've taken out of the box is cry. I can't seem to do the things that I enjoy doing on the internet with it -- websites look all screwy and I can't even play Cathe's older clips anymore.

The Mac I bought has a high resolution screen and the default setting makes everything look too small, but when I change the resolution then everything looks blurry. It has some really wonderful features, but who cares about the dashboard when you can't view the websites you love? I'm sure my vision has something to do with it, too. I wear progressive lenses and I can't seem to find the right spot in my glasses to look through, i.e., the computer either looks too close up or too far away. Anyway, it's going back and I think I'm going to stick with what I know. My PC is about 6 years old and we didn't have any trouble with it until about a year ago. We've never needed to call tech support in all this time.

I'm sorry for all this self absorbed blathering, but golly, I'm so disappointed! ;(

ETA -- LOVE the pictures of Sophie and Laine's Christmas!! Lainie -- I posted in your thread in the OD forum. You have a prominent position on my prayer list.

Michele,

That is too weird. That is the exact computer I am using right now! I wish I was more techie and could offer a solution. That is weird, is there some software you didn't install? Ask Lainie, she is really good at computer stuff and she is a Mac mama!:)

Hello melters. This morning was Gym Style C+T. This is my 3rd week of Gym Styles so this coming week I'll switch to something else. Maybe I'll do 4DS again, don't know yet.

Today I finished sewing my mom's bag. I'll have to post it to my picture trail along with some other sewing pictures I found over the last couple days. Also this weekend I started scanning some photos that I plan on transferring to fabric. My mother's 75th birthday is this year so I'm making her a quilt. When we were kids, Mom used to dress my sister and I in these dorky matching outfits for Easter and other occasions so that's going to be the theme of the quilt.

Shelley: Your back looks great! I can't believe how big Sophie is getting too. That picture where she's wearing the rodeo shirt looks like she's giving you some 'tude. Too funny!

Shannon: Knock wood, it seems like your calf is well on the mend now.

Tneah: I was going to ask how long it took you to get to that level of fitness. Only a year? Oh and how's your DH doing on his 'melting'?

Deb: What does a dog have to do to be a Canine Good Citizen?

Lanie: Love those pictures! You do have beautiful hair.

Michele: I'm sorry that you're not happy with your new Mac. Maybe you can talk to someone at the place where you bought it. Maybe all you need to do is to download a couple applications to get it running the way you want it. As far as your older pc, have you tried just re-loading the operating system from scratch? It's a bit of work to get everything back to the way you had it, but sometimes that resolves the 'blue screen of death' that you'd been seeing.

Hiya!!

Well, I went back to the Apple store and exchanged my high definition laptop for the next one down. It's still a very nice computer -- it's a 17" MacBook Pro but with a lower resolution. The high def model was really more computer than I needed. They even waived the 10% restocking fee because they felt somewhat responsible for steering me in that direction. I guess the high def is really more for professionals and people who do a lot of stuff with pictures and movies. This computer is a little easier on the eyes but it's still going to take some getting used to. Laptops are new to me, too. I've never had anything but a desk top and this is just weird to me -- lol!

Tneah, how do you use your laptop? I mean, it's so hulking big! It's really a little too big for my lap! Do you set it on a table or use it on your lap? I can't seem to find a comfortable position with it.

Gawd, I'm such a dork!

I promise not to be so utterly self absorbed tomorrow.

G'night all :*
