*~*~*Weekend Melters*~*~* Jan 19/20

Cathlete
Morning ladies - I thought I'd get us started today. I think I'm going to try a workout today. Wish me luck.

Tneah - that plan sounds awesome. I hope you don't miss Cathe too much! And wow, that doesn't seem like a lot of food! I'm not sure I'd survive on that. And don't be silly! We want to hear ALL the details!

Lainie - I'm sorry to hear about your knees and stepping. I'm with Tneah and think you should try really strengthening those quads to help stabilize the kneecaps. Sending {{{hugs}}}.

I'm waving to everyone else and will be back to check in with y'all later, when you're up and about:p

Good morning Shelley, and all you Melters!

Oh man am I glad it's Saturday. Just being able to climb in bed last night without turning on the alarm made me feel so good.

Shelley - good luck with your workout, but take it slow! What do you plan to try?

Tneah - whew. I'm with Shelley - that diet doesn't sound like much. But I'm sure Kim knows what he's talking about. Remember: have fun with it! And definitely keep us posted.

The sun isn't up yet, but it's cloudy and windy and cold. Brrrr. I have lots of inside stuff to do today, but I still want to get out and go for a real walk - you know, do some hills - today, since the doc has proclaimed me healed. :7 But that will be with the dog, so it won't be very fast. I'll do a Cardio Coach too, since I keep putting Coach Sean off this week.

OH - Mom's chocolate cake was FABULOUS. It's been a very long time since I've had any sort of dessert. Ahh. I got my chocolate fix. :7 And to top it all off, I got to stay for tacos, so I didn't have to cook last night. What a way to start the weekend, huh?

I'll try to be back later to see how everyone is doing. Have a great day!

Morning Melters & Happy Weekend!

Today is my rest day. I feel out of touch with you guys! The weather is awful here....snowing sideways!x( . Of course I left my car out! I never do that but last night I picked up some food on the way home from work as DH was feeling so bad he actually closed his office and went home yesterday..so because I was carrying hot food from the car, I thought I would leave it out and put it back later.. right! We have a play to go to tonight, "Twelve Angry Men". I hope it gets better outside by tonight. The dogs woke us up at 3:00, DH was kind enough to get up and let them out. I actually slept until 5:30! Yippee!

Robin:
It didn;t snow here until the middle of the night..

Shannon:
So you like the Absolute Kickboxing DVD..did you do the whole thing? or a pre-mix? Your hair sounds cute. Your home/property sounds wonderful! Where do you live?

Emily:
Glad you are feeling better!:)

Stephanie:
I had all kinds of leg warmers! and I did have pink ones when I took ballet class too.. Do you use pointe shoes?

Tneah:
Yes..DH is a dentist.. He is such a nice guy and to have almost everyone that comes to see him each day start off with." I really hate to come here!"...some woman say it is worse than having a baby! yeah right! Wow grooming George must be some task! Kim sounds like he has a plan for you! Can the high step be subbed for leg presses in a gym? I'm confused on the heart rate measure he mentioned..take it at start, like with the monitor, mine might be around 80 because I am moving around getting stuff on etc, then double it and add 10? I would die at that rate! When I use the I-treads I am usually anywhere from 130-160, with 160 being my highest interval.

Lainie:
Sorry about having to stop stepping..I guess it would really be a strain on your knee. Do you have a treadmill or eliptical? They are great for cardio and the I-Train workouts keep them from being boring. What about a weight bench that has the leg lift attachment to work your quads? My basement ceilings are very low and the elipical I have fits in perfectly. Yes it is Tammylee Webb but she isn;t wearing a hat, thank God!

Leanne:
Good job on the weight and body fat loss! ;-)

Michele:
{{{HUGS}}} and good thoughts to your sister. That quilt is beautiful. None of mine even come close to that!:)

Have a great day and stay warm!

Deb :)

Morning Shannon!

It's sunny and cold here. It's so nice to see the sun. It's been grey for a while now. Which CC do you plan on doing? I'm not sure what workout I'm going to try. I think maybe Amy Bento's ASC II. I'm a bit fixated on that one right now. I'm very jealous of your chocolate cake! I feel like baking this weekend, but I think that's a baaaaaaaad idea, since I have raging PMS:p

Hi Deb! We must have posted at the same time. I'm glad you got to sleep in this morning. I can't believe it's snowing there. It's brilliantly sunny here and we're only 40 minutes away! Enjoy your play tonight. I love the movie 12 Angry Men:)

Hi everyone. I am feeling a little more upbeat today after my bad news about my knees yesterday. I'm going to go ahead and step today (4DS HIS) but try to modify a bit and keep it to a 4" step. I've ordered a MatStep to try that as well. I've also got some good advice here on the forums.

I got my blood work results in the mail yesterday and they were normal. And of course I've been feeling a bit better. Earlier in the week I was downright bouncy, but yesterday and Thursday I was dragging again. I wonder if it might just be that starting the new rotation and cranking my workouts back up just wore me out a bit since I'm out of practice.

Shelley, yeah, I'm going to work on the quads. I didn't have as much trouble with my knees until I hurt my ankle so my quads were probably stronger before. I'll call the PT office next week and see when I can schedule a visit. Can you believe I can't even remember the name of my cute PT? I only remember that he looks a bit like Wentworth Miller. Sigh....

Deb, I don't have any equipment like an elliptical or anything but I'm still pestering DH to get us a bike. He says he wants one that is a combo bike/rower but hasn't actually bought it yet. I am thinking bike because it will probably go in our basement which has a rather low ceiling. The nice thing about our basement is it's the coolest part of our house in the summer and I hate working out in the heat.

Shannon, stop mentioning chocolate cake! You're making me want to go bake.

Tneah, I think that formula would have to be based on your resting heart rate. Yikes. My resting hr is about 60-70 so I could handle twice that plus 10--maybe I'll try that myself.

OK, gotta go check on the kids who are arguing over train tracks. Greetings to all who follow. BBL.

Good morning, you early birds!

I had to get up at 5:30 this morning to use the restroom, and then couldn't get back to sleep. GRR!! Don't you hate that?! So I ended up getting up early and starting laundry.

Today is Laundry Max and Clean Max, and then I have a free cardio day, so I think that I'll try out one of my Christi Taylor step workouts that I bought awhile ago.

Anyone have any fun weekend plans?

Shelley -- How great that you're feeling better today and up to a workout! Just don't overdo it!

Shannon -- Glad that the cake turned out to be delicious! That is so great that you have two horses. I've always loved horses, and a few years ago my DH actually bought me a month of riding lessons for my b-day. It was so much fun, but I felt like such a good out there on the horse as a 34-year-old with two 12-year-olds. How great that you even have a lovely place to keep them!

Stephanie -- In case you check in, hope you're having a fun weekend!

Deb -- The play sounds like fun! I hope that the weather gets better. Can I send you some of our San Diego sunshine? Enjoy your rest day!

Lainie -- Glad that you're feeling more upbeat! I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but I saw that you posted something on the forums, so I'm glad that you got some good ideas. I also realized this morning that I owe you an email. Sorry about that! Also, I put on some weight the first week of the 4DS, too. I really think that our bodies retain water when getting back to heavy lifting!

Tneah -- How cool that you got such great advice from him! Will you be able to use any weight workout DVD's to help you along? That is so much cardio, too! I know that you often work out twice a day, but are you alright with that? Eating six meals sounds nice, though! :) Will you be able to re-schedule your tryst with your DH this weekend? I hope you can do it soon! Oh, I wanted to ask you -- have you seen _Spamalot_ at the Wynn Hotel? My DH is a huge Monthy Python fan, and I thought it would be fun to surprise him with tickets and a weekend in Vegas for a Valentine's gift.

Michele -- Are you feeling any better? How did things go with your sister and her boss yesterday? Keep us posted!

TK -- I think that I'm finally going to try one of Christi's step workouts today! Yeah! It's a "free cardio day" for me, so I thought one of hers would be fun.

Robin -- How are you doing? Any special plans for the weekend?

Howdy Melter's!

I've blown enough snot out of my nose in the past 24 hours to fill a gallon jug  ;( . I still feel like crap but my abs have gotten a great workout from the cough :p . Every January our historical society sponsors an antique show -- a very nice antique show -- and it's this weekend. You know I'm sick when I miss the antique show :-( . Hopefully I'll feel good enough to go tomorrow.

My sister received a written reprimand which will be in her file for 5 years. She's okay and relieved that the meeting is over, but her union rep is totally PO'd. He plans to talk it over with the union attorney so it ain't over yet! Basically, my sister's boss is making an example of her. I wish I could tell you the whole story, but I don't want to divulge personal details about my sister on a public forum.

Shelley - Good luck on your workout!! What are you doing -- cardio or weights or both?

Cuz - Enjoy your walk! It's sunny here but bitterly cold so I'm planning to stay inside. That cake is making my mouth water, so I implore you to stop talking about it -- lol!!

Deb - Oh boy, I hope your car isn't buried in a snow drift! Enjoy the play tonight. I've seen the movie a dozen times or more. It's a true classic! Your DH is a dentist? Just so you know, I'd rather have my teeth drilled than go for my annual female physical :p . I have oral lichen planus that I have to have checked at least every 6 months and it's such a drag :-( . I'm having a little flare-up right now.

Lainie - I just can't tell you how sorry I am about all physical problems you've been having. You're such a trooper through it all and a very bright spot on the forums. I've been thinking about getting a Mat Step, too. I hate step and it about kills my hips, but the mat might be a good alternative. If you get it let us know how it works!

Leanne - I just hate it when I'm forced to get up too early and can't get back to sleep! I try not to drink anything for a couple of hours before going to bed and that seems to help. I should be doing laundry max and clean max but I'm going to lay around and watch TV instead :p

tneah - I agree that your HR calculations should be based on your RESTING HR. Your plan looks great, and I admire your discipline! I don't think I could do 2 workouts in one day, but then, I really hate working out :p . I kind of agree that it doesn't sound like very much food but maybe I didn't read it right? Nevertheless, what you're doing sounds fun and interesting and I'm anxious to see what kind of results you get. Have fun with it!

Did I miss anyone? If I did I'm sorry. I'm going to sign off now and see what my rascally DH is up to. I hear some activity in the kitchen -- maybe he's making breakfast :D

ETA I missed Robin  . You know how much I love ya :* :* :* . You're working this weekend, aren't you? I hope the weekend flies by for you! How's your knee today?

Michele - I was one with the snot on Sunday/Monday and then it went away and the throat/ears/cough started. I'm feeling okay today, just very tired. I'll be doing a cardio workout. I can't do any upper body weights right now because of the elbow - btw, did you get the e-mail I sent you a while back in reply to yours?

Leanne - I guess I got your sleep today. Normally I wake at 5:30 but this morning I slept until almost 7. Guess I needed it. Enjoy your Laundry and Cleanmax day!

I'm off shortly to take Sophie to piano, then drop her at pottery class and while she's there I'll run a couple of errands. I'll do my w/o when I come back, then put on the comfy pants and chillax for the evening. If my SO gets home in time, I promised everyone we could order Chinese food.

Hiya Meltees!:7

Well, its the first morning of a new day on my new program and already I miss my whipped cream that I put on top of my morning java.:) But thats okay, thats okay, I will live.

Yes, I am going to base the heart rate thing on my RESTING heart rate, otherwise I too would be in the grave! Last night, I checked and it was 85 before I started on the elliptical, so obviously that is just silly!I will do my best and forget the rest, that is all you can expect from yourself.;)

I might have written the diet thing wrong actually. I am eating a total of 1,599 calories a day, spread out over 6 mini-meals. Three of those meals are the protein shakes, I use the BSN Dessert, so thank goodness it fills me up, it must have some extra fiber or something. And example of the other meals would be; 4 ounces protein like chicken breast, 1 cup broccoli, 1 corn tortilla with 2 teaspoons salsa. Stuff I already eat, but in smaller portions, I am with ya Shelley, I can put away some food too!

Sounds like everyone is up and about this morning! Good, it motivates me to do the same. I have 45 minutes of cardio to attend to, will not start the weights until tomorrow I think.

Shelley, glad to hear you are feeling better. My DH still is congested and coughing, might go see a doc tomorrow. He is a paranoid mess when it comes to getting sick, he gets on WebMD and lets his imagination run rampant!x(

Leanne, you know what? That is the only show I haven't seen! But I hear its fabulous, and you can't go wrong staying at the Wynn. Oh, did I tell you all? Steve Wynn bought up the property right across the street from us and is building a house for his family! We are excited with the crappy housing market and all, when we go to sell our house we might do pretty good (in a few years or so of course!)

Shannon, It sounds like you live in such a wonderful place, I would love to be able to go hike in the woods with George...you are very lucky!

Deb, glad you got to sleep this morning, George woke me up at 4am, and it was only to go bark at something in the night, not to even potty!x( Have a blast at the play, sounds wonderful!

Lainie, the step mat sounds interesting! Hum, I wonder if its actually harder to get the footwork down on the floor? But if its gonna save your knees, I am all for it. Arthritis runs in my family, my dad needs both of his knees replaced too. Who is Wentworth Miller??

Michele, good to hear its "sort of " worked out with your sister. Could she take legal action to remove this from her personal record? and what the heck is oral lichen planus? Sorry, if that was too personal, you and Robin use such big words!

Speaking of Robin, hi!:) and Hi to TK, Emily, Stephanie and anyone else!

Oh, does anyone know if they offer those iTreads for walking workouts? I cannot run, but can walk really fast?

Hi melter ladies. I got busy at work yesterday so I didn't get a chance to post. Lots of catching up to do! This morning I did the kickbox/combat premix in Absolute Kickboxing. My core feels so strong after that workout.

Deb: I prefer hand quilting if I have the time, but will machine quilt when time-pressed. Buying fabric and the doing the quilting are by far my favorite steps in the process. This quilt I'm starting now needs to be done by late October, so I've baked in enough time to hand quilt it. I think Mom would be disappointed in me if I did it by machine! Needless to say, there won't be any pictures soon on this one. Your comment about your DH the dentist brings to mind a joke I heard once. Some lady goes to the dentist office and says 'I'd rather have a baby than to get dental work!' The dentist says 'well, tell me which it will be so I can adjust the chair'.

Robin: You get your surgery in less than 2 weeks, right? Dr TK prescribes a glass or two of wine to make that dang knee feel better.

Shannon: We're going to DH's niece's home tonight and I'm bringing a double chocolate cake. I will only bake when I have someplace to take and leave it. It is not safe here! Funny about what you say about walking with the dog. It's never fast is it? They have to smell absolutely everything!

Stephanie: Yeah it's a three day weekend for me too. Like you, I find it harder to be good when I have time on my hands. Hope you had fun with Butts and Guts!

Tneah: Is your DH becoming a cyberchondriac reading WebMD too much? LOL. Regarding your cardio HR range, I would go by what's comfortable for you. If I were to use that calculation, then my cardio range would be around 110-120 (not enough!). My HR before I start working out is around 50-60.

Lainie: Um, I want to go to your PT. If he looks like that picture, I'd be going there....a lot.

Leanne: That quilt is gorgeous! Those Amish are very skilled hand quilters. We have Amish fairly close by in Lancaster, PA and also around Dover DE. I know other quilters who don't like to finish their quilts so they take pay Amish ladies to do it.

Michele: I love antique shows too. Also, I'm a big fan of Antiques Roadshow. Wouldn't it be fun to to take something to Antiques Roadshow for an appraisal? Every time they are in the area I miss it. One day....

Shelley: Enjoy your workout. Glad you're starting to feel better!

B: If you're out there, please come back and tell us about your vacation. We miss ya!

Hi melters. I'm at work. It's been a pretty nice day. We had some extra help in the morning and it made a huge difference. I'm planning on doing some shoulder and bicep work when I get home. If I feel energenic, I'll hop on the stationary bike and do CCv2.

Shannon, yay for chocolate cake, tacos and Mom! Have fun with the walk and Coach Sean. I know exactly how you feel about the alarm clock. It's such a thrill turning it off, even knowing I'll probably wake up at the same time without it.

Deb, the few inches of snow we got the other day is almost gone. Enjoy the play.

Lainie, I'm glad you feel better about your sad news. Maybe if you can find enough other cardio activities you like, you won't miss step so much. All I can do is bike right now and I'm rapidly getting tired of it.

Hi Leanne, no special plans. I have to work both days, but will be off Monday. I'll probably spend that day doing the housework. Do your classes start Tuesday? My DH likes to joke that he works at a politicaly incorrect school. They get a day off to kill animals (the first day of deer season) but don't get MLK day off.

Michele - poor baby!!! I wonder how much all the snot weighs? I'm glad your sister is happy with the outcome and equally happy that her union rep is going to try and take things a step further.

Shelley, good luck with your workout. I didn't know Sophie was taking a pottery class. Sounds like fun! I had to laugh at your post in the VD thread about your SO's card.

tneah, I've always puzzeled over heart rate. All of the charts and calculations I've seen seem to be too low for me. I've been wearing a HRM while doing my bike workouts, but wasn't really sure I've been hitting the numbers right. With the formula you gave, I think I'm doing OK though. My resting rate is about 70 and I get up to about 160-165 when I'm really pushing. I really admire your dedication to your fitness plan.

Hi TK. Enjoy your 3 day weekend AND the chocolate cake. I had my pre-admission testing yesterday and the list of don'ts was daunting. No pain killers except tylenol, no herbals (I better get some cranberry juice to replace my cranberry pills) and no wine a couple days before surgery.:( I'm ever more worried about the no food or water after midnight the day of surgery. I'm not sure what time the surgery is yet, but was told I'll probably be at the hospital at least 6 hours. Yikes, will I have a no-coffee-headache by the end of the day!

Well, I guess I better go try to look busy for the last few minutes of work. See you all tomorrow.

Hey guys,

Well so far so difficult--getting all the meals in that is! They may be small, but I have to work on the timing. Every three hours is great if you at home all day, but I ran around like a banana head today!
There are 7 mini- meals, so far, I have eaten three, I should be at four and five right now. It will get easier I am sure. We have been watching the political high-jinks here in Vegas all day! All the locals voted along with the casino workers in the caucus (who knows how to spell that silly word?)Hilliary came out on top for the D's, Mitt R. for the R's. Vegas has a huge mormon community, it rivals SLC...anyway!

Robin, just wanted to say I totally understand your pre-surgery angst. I actually had my doctor prescribe some Lortabs for me those days before surgery as I could not take anything at all!x( I was downing the ibuprofen like Smarties for years! As far as the food and drink, just stay up as late as you can and drink a ton of water before midnight, you will be up peeing, but that night of sleep sucks anyway. Hopefully the surgery is in the early AM, then its a piece of cake. Brush your teeth, don't even look at the coffee machine, dress and go!:7 I even showered the night before, shaved my legs, etc..didn't want to worry about that in the morning-it would require coffee.;) You will do good, at least its out patient so as soon as you get home, make sure DH has a piping hot cup a joe waiting for you.:7 :)

Off to do my last cardio session, that or nap and then do my last cardio session!:7

Oh, Lainie....nice, very nice...:p

Tneah - just popping in quickly to let you know that Grace offers three speeds in ALL the iTread workouts - walking, jogging and running. I think you'd really love them.

tneah, thanks for the advice. I've been thinking about you and your surgery a lot lately. I feel like a bit of a whimp fussing about a little same day procedure compared to your hip replacement. I have a good friend who had this done a few years ago. He's older than me and not in near as good shape and had no problems. He was pretty much fully recovered in 4 weeks. I'll have to try to shift my focus to the recovery phase instead of worrying about a couple hours that will pass quickly.

Shell-bell, has the bleakness passed? Here's a {{{hug}}}

I have to get to work. I'll probably be back later.

Good Moring & Happy Sunday!

I will be going down to do one of the Gym Styles in a little while. I like the weekend because I get to have coffee before I work out! DH is still feeling bad so we will most likely hang around here today. We did go to the play last night... it was awesome!

Shelley:
Yeah, it finally stopped snowing here when the sun came up. Chinese food sounds good!

Lainie:
If I had to choose and your DH wants a bike, I would get the bike/rower combination. I would really like to use a rower for cardio, using one of the I-Trains, but I can't justify another piece of equipment! besides there is no more room!

Leanne:
Yes, please send some of that sunshine this way ;-)

Michele:
Sorry you had to miss the antique show:( Yes.. DH hears that all the time too!

Tneah:
Yes I guess resting heart rate would be the one to use! The last time I had a check up, ( November) mine was in the high 50's..like 57 or 59. They were really surprised at the DR office. So I guess I should strive for 130-140? Yes! Yes! get one of the I-Treads for walking! They are great! Most of them have all 3 levels, walking, jogging and running in them.. Some people don;t like Grace, find her annoying, but I don;t have that problem.

TK:
Wow hand quilting is very ambitious! I feel good when I machine quilt.

Robin:
Yes that no food or coffee after midnight is a killer! But the first cup of coffee when you get home tastes so good!

Well I am off to the basement! Have a great day..:)

Deb

Hi everyone,

I'm up early again this morning -- I'm almost to the end of a book I'm reading, and got up early so I could finish it! Today I think that we're going over to my Dad's to get pizza and watch the Chargers game. I am not a sports fan at all, but my whole family will be there, so it'll be great to see them.

Today I'll be doing 4DS Kickbox. I may extend this rotation one more week since I'm enjoying it so much. Otherwise, I'm thinking of starting Barry's Boot Camp. I'm afraid of it!

Michele -- Are you feeling any better today? I'm so glad to hear that things went alright with your sister. It makes complete sense that you don't want to share the details on-line. I hope that all continues to go well with her!

Deb -- Glad that the play was awesome last night! Did the snow let up enough so that it made travel easy? Did you get dinner beforehand? I'll definitely send you some sunshine!:)

Lainie -- How cool that you ordered the kickbox outfit! Does it seem like the MatStep will still allow you to do your step workouts?

Shelley -- How was the Chinese food last night? Are you feeling better today?

Tneah -- How great that you can eat some of your meals as the Lean Dessert shakes! That doesn't sound like a whole lot of calories, though, since you're working out so much! Are you doing OK with that? How cool that Steve Wynn will be your neighbor sometime soon!

TK -- How was Abs. KB yesterday? Do you think that it's worth it to get that workout, even if I wouldn't have the space to do the drills with the body bar?

Shannon -- Are your calves still feeling alright after doing step the other day? Hope so!

Robin -- Glad that it wasn't a hectic day at work yesterday! It sounds like you really have to be careful with your surgery coming up! Yes, I go back to teaching on Tuesday, and I'm already getting really nervous/stressed. Does your DH get really nervous before starting a new semester? How funny with his joke about deer season and MLK Day!

Hi to everyone else who follows!

Hi guys!:)

Day 2 of my program. I didn't miss the whipped cream as much this morning, but I am so used to getting up and ingesting sugar, so its weird not doing that.

Leanne, I was not hungry at all yesterday, and I even missed a meal. My DH even commented that it looks like I can eat alot of food for it only being 1,599 calories!:) Its amazing how much you really can eat when you cut out all sugar things like catsup and whipped cream right?;)

Shelley, hey thanks, I think I have one of Grace's workouts, will have to look into her walking ones. I tried Coach Sean yesterday, but it was more intervals and I need to get my heart rate up there and make it stay there for the duration...its gonna be a trial and error thing I can tell!

Robin, you are not a wimp at all. Any kind of surgery is a big deal and is nerve wracking! I just got very good drugs and cannot remember the first few days in the hospital.:+

Deb, glad to hear you had a wonderful time last night! My DH and I really need to get out and about, his flu thing has been hanging on forver.

Lainie, speaking of flu things, were you congested and coughing stuff up even after the fever went away? That is whats happened to my hubby, he is taking Mucinex, but its gone on now for over a month, was that the way it was for you too?

TK, wow your resting heart rate is low! I think mine is more like 65 or something, actually that is the number I am using to calculate where I need to be at during cardio.

Ok, off to eat my first protein shake and then cardio and weights. My first weight workout. Its back/abs! Then I think I will go get my toes and nails done...I love pedicures, they are so relaxing!:7

Hi to everyone that follows, might be back later...

Hello everyone. We are having a lazy day at home. I woke up unable to talk and the boys got up with still very snotty noses, so we skipped church. My voice is back, and I don't feel too bad, though. It's just that ongoing nasty postnasal drip. Today is scheduled to be a rest day--might do some yoga later, though.

Yesterday I really enjoyed 4DS HIS (yep, I stepped against doctor's orders--but only on a 4" step). I am really feeling it in my chest today. I didn't lift as heavy as Cathe, but I did bump up to a 52 lb barbell (not quite so much as Cathe's 62 lbs) for rows, so that was a new high for me. I also got to try my Perfect Push-up thingeys out, which might be why my chest is extra sore today. Yowza.

TK, my PT doesn't look exactly like that, but he is cute and it's just that something about him reminds me of Wentworth Miller. It's embarrassing having a cute guy handle my funny looking feet and pale veiny legs, though. Sigh. I think I have nice enough legs (DH is a leg man after all) but they really look better in a dress and heels than exposed on the table in the bright lights at the physical therapy place.

Robin, when is your surgery again?

Tneah, yep, I've been coughing up stuff for a couple months now. My nose is nice and clear; it's all in the back of my throat or something. TMI? I took some Mucinex DM but it seemed to wipe me out (I am so susceptible to drowsiness). I've also got some regular Mucinex and maybe I should try that and see if it's as tiring.

Deb, do you work out in the basement? Is it a finished basement? Mine is unfinished and has a low ceiling so we mainly use it for storage and laundry, but it's where we're considering putting a stationary bike. It's at least the coolest place in the house in the summer.

Leanne, yeah, I'm going to give the MatStep a try. Also, I found out yesterday that the low impact modifier in Tracey's upcoming Steady State Step workout will be using a MatStep so I can really see it in use there.

How's my Shelley doing today? Feeling less blue this weekend? Have you received the package from me yet?
